What was this guy smoking? He told one of his black students that he needed to “send her back to Africa” for being absent.
A black woman who said a college professor told her she needed to go back to Africa has asked for an apology and said the incident prompted her to drop out of school.
She shouldn’t have quit school over this, but I certainly understand her anger. Why, in this politically correct, overly sensitive racial climate would you say to a black person, even in jest, that you’d send them back to Africa?
I picked up the link to this article on Lucianne.com, and some of the commenters think the woman was “thin-skinned.” I agree. She’ll have to be much stronger than this to make it in life. But I’ve got to tell you that as a black person, conservative or not, I’d be steaming if someone said this to me, especially a so-called professional like a college professor.
Every now and then (not often) I agree with liberals. For example, during the Elian Gonzalez show, I wholeheartedly supported the Clinton administration for returning the child to his father even when it meant life in communist Cuba. I’m really strong on parental rights, and Elian’s relatives had no right to refuse to return the child to his father. From what I remember, the boy’s father didn’t even know the mother was bringing (sneaking) him to the U.S. She was following her “boyfriend.”
