Kweisi is queasy over us black conservative folk. We’re a “collection of black hustlers” who’ve become conservatives for “a few bucks a head.”
He thinks we’re being paid for our views. As my pal Michael King said, “P21 executive director David Almasi and I had a conversation Monday afternoon about that very issue, after a reporter called him with questions over whether or not any members (myself included) were paid. After I stopped laughing, I jokingly implored him, ‘Pay ME! PLEASE pay me!’”
Kweisi added: “When the ultraconservative right-wing attacker has run out of attack strategy, he goes and gets someone that looks like you and me to continue the attack.”
We all look alike, so we should all think alike, too. How retro. Avery has something to say about the dinosaur-NAACP. So does Samantha.
Oh, and we’re puppets, too.
Kweisi has an outdated and ignorant perception of black conservatives. He should tear himself away from his limousine and NAACP parties long enough to find out why we believe what we believe. Kweisi and his sour grapes reinforce my view that he and his cronies are not insulted but frustrated by President Bush’s rebuff. The great savior Slick Willie is off selling his hand weights and making money. They’ll have to come up with a new strategy on their own.
