In case you missed the Democratic Convention, here’s a summary of the liberals’ message:
“Affirmative Action — We love racial quotas. If you’re white, we’ll see to it that your kid never gets the college admission or job he deserves. We’re willing to sacrifice his opportunities for our political advantage (trawling for minority votes). That’s how committed we really are to equal protection under the law. P.S.: Our message to minorities — You’re too stupid to make it on your own.
Big Government — Our goal is to super-size government until it makes Mt. Everest look like an anthill. The New Deal, Great Society and Hillary’s plan to socialize health care have only whetted our appetite….
Defense — New weapons systems? We don’t need no stinking new weapons systems! We’re pacifists at heart. Haven’t we proved that by opposing everything defense-related that’s come along in the past 20 years? If it were up to us, there would be no MX Missiles, Patriot Missiles, B-2 Bombers, Apache Helicopters, etc….
English — It’s so unreasonable to expect newcomers to our shores to learn English. How dare we impose on them by insisting they learn our language. Instead, we should set an example in tolerance by facilitating retention of their native tongues — they and their children and grandchildren….
Religion — We view traditional religion as the enemy. People who take the Bible seriously could interfere with our plans.
Any attempt by evangelical Christians or Catholics loyal to Rome to use the political system to advance their values is a threat to the First Amendment. We favor deploying the IRS to keep uppity churches in line.
Our judges will see to it that Ten Commandments monuments are locked away in the closet, that creches and menorahs don’t sully public places during the holidays, and that schools remain faith-free zones. To accomplish this, we will re-write American history to make the Founding Fathers secular humanists.”
Speaking of religion, stay tuned for my next post, where I teach Jesse Jackson about proper biblical intepretation.

It is really refreshing to see another minority who gets offended at Affirmative Action. My college counselor was shocked that I refused a scholarship simply because my father was born in another country. I told I want merits to get me in, not race or skin color.
And as for Jesse Jackson, well, that’s a whole different story. I’ll be back to read more about him! He is a dangerous man.

cute ’summary’ La Shawn. hours of study, was it?
Steven L Carter, Author of The Dissent of the Governed and The Culture of Disbelief
wrote an article, The Freedom to Resist, that includes the following:
Classic Edmund Burke, “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” First Kedwards guns for Bishops that dare to deny him communion, then they’ll go after Black Pastors for not toeing their evershift line in the sand on victimism

Defense:
All things remaing the same in terms of actual battles, the death toll in 90, 91, 92, 93, 94, 95, 96, 97, 98, 00, 01, 02, 03, 04, 05 and beyond will have been much higher. Because everything that Kerry voted against, would have meant our soldiers would have to fight with older equipment.
Where a typical RPG would have bounced off a M1 Abrahms, the M60 crew would be dead.
Instead of the F-15/16, aircrews would be getting shot down in A-7s and F-4s.
And on it goes. Watch for Bush to come out with head to head stats on every weapon system that Kerry tried to kill.
Remember the heroic rescue by Jesse Jackson of the 3 soldiers captured by Serbia back in 99? The only thing that keep those boys alive was that they were in an armored M1114 Humvee. Had it been up to Kerry, they would have been in a Vietnam era Jeep and you know Jesse wouldn’t even bother trying to bring back their bodies.
Loved it, La Shawn
You know, I read a youth biography of Booker T. Washington the other night. While informative, it wasn’t without bias. It was subtly obvious that the authors disagreed with Mr. Washington’s views. It made me wonder,as we home educate and so know exactly what world view is being taught our children, what kids are being taught in government schools about affirmative action and those who dare to dissent with it?
Education:
Contary to No Child Left Behind ain’t funded rhetoric, Federal funds are over budgeted.
NCLB isn’t giving out money for lack of funding; it isn’t giving it out b/c no one has yet to meet the qualifications, let alone submit their mandated plan of action. How is this Bush’s fault when congress voted for it. Is Kerry implying that he voted for the NCLB, before he voted against it by setting the release mechanism too high?
With regards to other sources of federal education funding, every State in the Union and DC is returning unused monies to the treasury.
Gotta love union leader Andy Stern for blurting out the truth about education, the need for charter schools, vouchers, etc and about disparities in labor classism
Being a liberal means never voting to pay for military appropriations, and then blaming the Republicans when an attack on us succeeds.
Great post. Looking forward to the next one!
Part of the issue about body armor goes beyond cost. It is an item controlled by State Department and you know how bad red tape can be. How much more so when an agency is institutionally hostile to Bush?
I agree with David. The current RNC looks mighty weak in regards to items 1, 2, and 4; from any kind of conservative perspective, at least.
Enjoyed the post. Keep up the good work.
Rope-a-dope: in the spirit of bi-partisanship, Bush signs off on all the big-ticket items, in exchange for a coup de grâce later.
On the conservative front, if dismantling or reforming big government is part of his strategy for 2004 to call the liberals’ bluff, I imagine that would rally true conservatives who felt “betrayed”.
On the liberal front, a couple of weeks ago, Steven den Beste wrote “A Masterstroke:
Bush posing as a Trojan chimp boy, until he’s well inside the moonbat walls; stuff like this is what keeps my hopes alive.
LaShawn, great as always.
But, you are very wrong about the Liberals being hostile to religious faith. Just ask any nice Muslim jihadist who he/she wants to take the White House in November…and it darn sure ain’t Bush!!!!
Isn’t it wonderful to see how accommodating the DNC and their hacks- uh, I mean friends in the media are to people of faith?
Well, Bin Laden, Al-sadr and Ibrahim Hooper’s faith, anyway…

Welcome to scenic Polemicland! Population: memer.
what convention were you watching?
Aaww, shucks.. Me thinks you’ve offended the poor wittle wibawal..
Hehe, great work Le Shawn
Its not so much that i’m offended, just that i’m flabbergasted. I mean, I know people tend to project their own views on what they hear, but I heard nothing of ths sort.
