I don’t think she was referring to the capitol police, but the Muslims, right? Because she doesn’t want fanatics to keep her from feeling like she can drive by the capitol building, I’m thinking.

If they blow up the capitol building (God forbid), I’d hate to see what they’d put in its place: some ugly, 60′s style building, no doubt. A cinderblock cube, I’d expect.

But I don’t think anything’s going to happen. Security is so much higher than it was on 9/11 that they’re not going to let anybody suspicious within five miles of it.

Smooth Stone has a great post today about life in Israel and how this sort of thing is a fact of life. I think its dreadful but what are you going to do? I just pray that this is for good and never is used for evil.

It is sad indeed. For several years, my Synagogue has had armed guards at the door during high holiday services.

This year, I was in London, and the Rabbi said that we couldn’t stick around and individually talk with her as she loves to do, rather, we all had to leave as soon as possible and disperse for safety reasons.
