Swift Board veteran John O’Neill is not afraid of John Kerry’s Ivy League lawyers. From WorldNetDaily:
“If he was actually in Cambodia on Christmas Eve in 1968, he should sue me,” said O’Neill. “If, in fact those other five boats on March 13th, 1969, if they all fled like he did instead of staying like he knows they did, he should sue me.”
….“If he didn’t wound himself with a grenade, causing a rice fanny wound, and then reported it to the Navy as a water mine — if he didn’t do that on March 13th he should sue me,” O’Neill continued. “(The point is) on our first ad he (Kerry) had two huge law firms send letters to every station, threatening to sue the stations themselves (if they ran the ad). “Then he challenged the book’s publisher (Regnery) indicating he would sue them if they had continued printing the book.”
I guess I’m an old-fashioned kind of woman. I like strong men who stand behind their words. O’Neill says he’s telling the truth and challenges Kerry to prove otherwise. What does Kerry do? Sic his lawyers on O’Neill and tries to censor him. Good luck with all that, Kerry, Kerry, quite contrary.

O’Neill is drawing a line in the sand – BRAVO!!
I don’t know about that — I’m from Texas, and drawing a line in the sand here invokes Travis and the Alamo. (We lost that one. Really.)
Yeah, the Alamo was lost before it was regained… I mean, who has Texas now, huh?
Of course, it wasn’t pretty for the guys at the Alamo, though.
You can tell when the Dems are loosing it. They inevitably attack the bearer of the message, rather than addressing the issue itself.
Actually, while I know what you meant, what Kerry did was even worse, he sicced (sp) his lawyers on those that would spread O’Neill’s message. Kerry didn’t had the nads to go back at O’Neill, he tried to have his surrogates, figuratively, kill the messenger service. That won’t make O’Neill go away, Kerry has made two tactical errors, and O’Neill will keep reminding people that Kerry is afraid to engage his foe directly. Kind of reminds me of Kerry’s U.N. fetish for addressing terrorism, he seems to like to let someone else do his fighting for him. And that makes him a coward in my book.
O’Neill hasn’t back down from his platform since 1971, Kerry keeps changing his platform.
Funnny when you state Kerry is a coward because he doesnt “fight his own battles” when he entered military service in Vietnam voluntarily, he didnt have to hide in Alabama and go AWOL from the National Guard. Swift boat vets also feature some contradicting statements, from one of the featured veterans in the commercial, Larry Thurlow which was awarded the Bronze Star at the same battle in which Kerry also obtained a medal. So in order for Thurlows allegations to be true his medal was also fabricated. I Suppose you ignore the fact that none of the men which are fabricating these lies served upon the same boat as John Kerry, and that all those who did have uphealed Kerrys statements.
The one of the men which are fabricating these lies served upon the same boat as John Kerry thing has been done to death, already. The ad never claimed they were in the same boat. They were in the boat beside him, behind him, in front of him—same difference.
And yes, regardless of Kerry’s “heroic” 4 months in ‘Nam and 3 Purple Hearts, I say O’Neill is the better man for explaining himself and standing firm in the face of lawsuit threats. If his statments are slanderous and libelous, that’s John Kerry’s burden to bear in court. He has to prove it.
Isn’t it great to watch a pathological liar get his comeuppance? Go Swiftees! John O’neill is going to shove Kerry’s nuanced storytelling down his hatch.
Daniel:
Thurlow has stated repeatedly that if the medal was awarded solely on the basis of being under enemy fire, then his is not deserved either.
I’ve been lurking but I thought I would chime in on this.
I find the spirit of the Swiftvets inspirational.
When they set up the Swiftvets 527, they didn’t incorporate. That means that the members accept personal financial responsibility in case they should lose a law suit and they did it intentionally to show they are sincere.
In other words, they have set themselves, personally and financially, against a powerful and wealthy enemy. They are risking their very reputations and homes against a foe that they know isn’t honorable, or just, and left the outcome in our hands.
How can anyone not respect the bravery of these men. Please support them and let other people know you support them and why.
Warren: I didn’t know that about the ‘527′ groups. It just ADDS to my admiration of the Swifties!
For what it is worth, I would tend to believe O’Neill a lot more than Kerry simply because O’Neill has 250+ veterans on his side whereas Kerry has nine(?) – you might be able to sway a couple of people to back you, but you cannot get that many people to just trash another Vet.
PRESIDENTS AND WANNABE’S: Jimmy “Weakest Man On The Planet” Carter…Bill “I’m really a black guy” Clinton…John “The Flip-Flop Dork” Kerry.
Girliest man…Slick Girly man…I’m REALLY a tough guy Girly man, respectively, in that order – though interchangeable.
Three variations, Bloggies, for your edification – extremely vital for your moral and spiritual improvement. Thus, avoid such weakness in character at all costs. The Liberal Woman’s favorite kinda dude. (Couldn’t resist at least one cheap shot)
Any questions?
