…in a week. I’m tired of blogging, and I have projects that require my attention. Coincidentally, the Republican National Convention is this week. I doubt I’ll watch it.
I Shall Return…

La Shawn,
We’ll be waiting for you. Have a great week!
LaShawn, it’s probably a well-deserved break (although, knowing you, it will be a “working vacation”). Thanks for the Virginia Declaration of Rights, too. God’s blessings on your projects and all your work.
You’ll be missed…
But if you want to come back and visit, the door’s open, LaShawn!
Hey! You can’t leave now, I’m addicted to your website
I was hoping to learn some cool stuff this week….
;(
You’ll be in my prayers sister! blessings
Enjoy your time away from the blog
We love ya!
Although it is only for a temporary time frame
Ms Barber your thoughtful insights will definitely be missed over here in Baghdad. Unlike you I will be up in the wee hours of the morning watching the Convention. I have a vested interest in what my Commander in Chief has to say.
Take care
Demond
I’m glad you’re reading the blog, Demond. Thank you for your service to our country, and God be with you always!
I pray for an end to this war and your safe return.
La Shawn, I know you are interested in having the gun ban in D.C. overturned so I thought you might be interested in this (if you don’t already know about it).
Congress Takes up Dispute Over DC Gun Ban
It seems something is wrong with my link, sorry.

You can’t leave!! All the plants will die!
I can’t point any fingers about taking time off, because I’ve had to do the same thing (though you’ve been a lot better about it than I have, seeing as I never even posted a statement that I was on hiatus :/).
Have a great week, La Shawn! We’ll miss you in the meantime.
I would blogroll you the week you take a well-deserved break. Sheeesh. Have a good week – finally got a chance to enjoy your blog this weekend. Intelligent and classy! Keep up the good work (after your vacation, of course).
Wait! Don’t go!
All the plants will die!
Enjoy a well-deserved week off.
Clear message from Guiliani and McCain speeches were terrific. The night was a wonderful tribute dedicated to our service members, a tribute so very well deserved. Really great night for America.
And, the speech by Ron Silver. The man took my breath away! The video is a keeper.
Enjoy the rest and relaxation, complete that which you start, and have fun doing it. I won’t rush your time off.
get rested up La Shawn, but we need you back soon.
La Shawn:
You missed some great speeches yesterday at the Convention.
Guliani and McCain were great – especially mocking Michael Moore who was there (can anyone have less shame?).
Then the Iraqui lady – telling about how life is so much better for her.
But most of all – the 3 911 widows were the best -
After tne media has fallen all over the professional 911 widows (Christian Breitweiser, Monica Gabrielle and others)who just hate Bush – it’s about time some of the widows who like Bush had their “day in the sun”.
Ciao, Bella…..see you on the beach.
{John makes his daily pilgrimage into LaShawn Barber’s Corner. With his hand behind his back he just stares into the void. Pacing this cyber-void, he can hear the echo of his heals against the virtual floor. As he stops, there is complete silence. Heading toward the exit he takes one futile look back, in hopes of seeing evidence of new content. Sadly, there is none and shall be none for what seems like an eternity. Adieu ma amie! Adieu!}
{La Shawn, exhausted and burnt out by the news, is slumped in a virtual chair, wanting to call out to John, “Wait. Don’t go. Stay awhile and read my archives until I return.”
But she’s too tired to speak. “He’ll be back someday,” she sighs.}
You know we still love you, LaShawn.
Take a good break LaShawn….get rested!
La Shawn, Michael Steele made me proud last night and showed the country how smart our governor was in choosing him as a running mate. Let me go out on a limb here and say that if Robert Ehrlich ever runs for president, he would have Micheal as his vp candidate.
If Ehrlich wins reelection in ‘06 I expect a run for the White House in 2012, unless there is a Republican incumbant from 2008, and I expect Michael Steele to be right along side him.
Too bad you aren’t watching! Lt Gov Steele was excellent!
Have enjoyed watching this convention more than I expected
Best wishes …
Thanks for the update, William. I plan to blog about the convention when I return, and I have some things to say about Michael Steele and some so-called controversial statements he’s made. I like him, but many don’t.
I’ve been listening to some of the convention on the radio. This is going to be controversial, but I need to address Bush’s choice to have a Muslim Imam give the invocation. What’s up with that? You know me, and I can’t wait to get into this discussion!
Ms. Barber, you have so much heart and sincerity. Your blog is extremely readable but extremely thought-provoking, too. It is enjoyable as well as enlightening.
Enjoy your break.
Lashawn:
Hurry up and get back to blogging! We love your stuff!
Everybody, can use a break. Enjoy.
