Jeannie,
But a Pro-Kerry campaign would be like a compass at the north pole: pointing an all directions at once. At least with an anti Bush campaign, they have a consistant message... something John and John cannot manage themselves.

Gosh, didn't the Democrats bring up Bush's NG service? And didn't the Dems also bring up this letter? Republicans would love to talk about the issues, but the Democrats keep bringing up stupid stuff to distract the American people.

Here's an idea: instead of running an anti-Bush campaign, try running a pro-Kerry campaign.

Nothing about this memo scandal surprises me. I worked as consultant for a Russian energy firm in the past decade. My field is supply management and what I saw Russians do with invoices and import documents to get around their cumbersome import regulations was impressive. They basically recreated any documents they need after a reasonable attempt to obtain the documents legitimately or please the corrupt regulators inhibiting them. It's much too tedious and dull to go into but suffice it to say there is no document that can't be reproduced if the situation warrants.

Apparently Senator(Don't you have to show up to be a senator?) Kerry's campaign is in such tatters that they decided Bush needed to have a scandal on 60 Minutes so they created one for old Danny boy Rather...

If they are faked, and it looks like they are, then somebody created bogus military documents and forged a dead man's signature on them, to discredit a sitting president who's up for reelection, in time of war. Somebody's head needs to roll. America doesn't need its electoral process manipulated in this way.

What I find interesting about this is that most people doubted the validity of the memo all along. It was really a rather minor component of the whole debate over Bush's military service.

I think that it will continue to be a minor component. Considering that there are hardly any other records to ascertain precicely what happened in 1972 (and all that we do have might be fake), I doubt that this will ever be a closed debate.
