I was thrilled to see your interview on Townhall.com today. As I said when I first discovered your blog, we may not agree on everything but I have an open mind and never disdain hearing other views and discovering new writers. How boring my life would be if I only listened to myself talk! And I like you just as much when I read something that we do agree upon. Keep up the good work and the fans will continue to flock :)

A lot of people have problems with Dr. Laura, Jerry. But she speaks too much truth to be ignored. I'm glad those few chapters pulled you in. You're not going to agree with everything, but I'm willing to bet you'd agree with most of what she says and writes, just as I do. I've had a few problems with the way she's handled some of her calls, but for the most part, she's doing the world a valuable service. You should hear her on the phone when she finds out people are neglecting their kids!

About the interview, everyone, what's posted is pretty much what I have. There were minor edits. I'll tell you what, the next time I interview her, I follow some of your suggestions. I'm sure she'll be coming out with another book soon.

I was in the book store last week and saw her book, "The Proper Care and Feeding of Husbands". I picked it up and checked it out. Before I knew it I had read through to two chapters. I admit, I did enjoy it and agree with much of what she wrote.

I know before I wasn't too keen on the title or the notion of men being called "simple creatures" and to be honest, I still don't agree with such notions, but the content of the book seems quite good and I found myself agreeing with most of what she wrote.

I plan to go back and purchase a copy to finish reading it.

Congratulations Miss Barber on your interview as well! Movin' on up!

La Shawn, I second the request for an unabridged version of the interview. I have enjoyed Dr. Laura for years. Though we are not in agreement on everything, I agree with the vast majority of what she espouses, especially with her relationship advice. I think her book is especially relevant to what's happening today sociologically. We're moving closer and closer to a day when men should be marching on Washington for their rights to be what nature and God intended: men. I think it's going to be awhile before women figure out that the "women's movement" took us and the American family a few steps backwards.

Bow down knaves!
Thy Queen hast spoken!
But the Queen needs regalia...
At my office, we used to have a long cardboard tube (it was the spindle from a carpet runner, iirc) about one meter long, and covered at one end with high impact foam (packing from a fragile instrument).
This was our MonkeyThumper, used to beat whiners (our lab was a no whining zone), IT support staff and other wrong headed folks... monkeys because they walked upright (sometimes) and had thumbs, but clearly could not be left alone to their own devices around expensive and possibly dangerous toys.
I am thinking it would make a nice scepter, if I could find it... esp good for supressing trolls without undue harm... like whack-a-mole, but with liberals and brain washed college students...

Sorry, La Shawn. I was teasing. You're not queenly at all. You are a generous hostess, and you show respect and consideration to everyone.

Lyle you're going to give people the wrong impression about me. The queen reference was just to emphasize that I own the domain so I have certain rules of civility, that's all.

The last time I checked, Ms Barber expressed a preference for being called 'Queen'. Queen La Shawn does have a nice ring.

The interview with Dr Laura was interesting but too short. Is there an unedited version? The most enlightening conversations always seem to occur between people who share similar values but different perspectives.

Is there any possiblity of a followup interview for LB's Corner?

Miss Barber, discovered your site a few weeks ago and have been a daily visitor since. Appreciate your common sense views on culture, race, and this unbelievable political season.
Dr. Laura - well, the tolerant and open to diversity American Left sure torpedoed her TV show. Shame.

Keep up the good fight!!

P.S. I actually experienced a few minutes of indecision on whether to address you as Miss or Ms. I suspect Miss works fine for you.
