Four years on a story and not interviewing Gen. Staudt shows not just journalistic laziness but wanting to produce an attack piece at all costs. Damn the torpedoes and integrity. Alarm bells should have sounded from the suspected source of these memos and yet they called him an unimpeachable source. This is a great story for pundits but a miserable day for journalism only fit for moveon.org shrills. Four years working on a story that even if true was no earth-shattering story.
