in Bush Good, Liberals - Kerry

Update (8:39): Instapundit links. Let’s get this party started! The comment thread is now open.

Are you lonesome tonight? Bored? Hyper? Anxious? Apathetic? Come one, come all! I want your real-time play-by-play of the final debate. The last time around, we generated 166 comments and trackbacks, but tonight we can do better than that!

Beginning at 8:45 p.m. (debate starts at 9:00), I’ll open up this thread for live commentary on the debate. You’re all invited to watch it at my house (tell your friends, too), so swing on by La Shawn Barber’s Corner to weigh in on facial expressions, body language, inconsistencies and straight out lies (of John Kerry). I’m excited already.

How much cash are you willing to wager that illegal immigration, one of the biggest crises facing America, won’t be mentioned, let alone discussed tonight?

As always, I’ll link to live-bloggers around the web so you can see all the action. If you’ll be live-blogging at your place, trackback to this post so I can link to you. Later… ;)

On the southern border, see Michelle Malkin.

Newsflash: All you commenters who ragged me for speaking ill of Muslims crossing our southern border, check out the Chechens crossing with the Mexicans! (Washington Times broke the story.) Thanks, Digger.

Live-bloggers: Baldilocks is live-blogging! Also see Right Wing News, Hugh Hewitt, Daniel Drezner, Captain Ed, Politburo Diktat, Llama Butchers, Blogs for Bush Blogs of War’s list of bloggers.

H-Bomb! Dean says he’ll pimp your blog for a trackback. That’s not nice.

TacJammer
calls IE “Internet Exploder.” Good one.

Polipundit calls it for Bush already! Kevin sounds jaded.

Check out the poll at Jeff Blanco’s after the debate. More funny stuff from Scrappleface.

I read Michelle Malkin’s “Democrats gone Wild”, and it is scary stuff!! Is this country turning into a Weimar Republic, with the Dems the new BrownShirts???

Jeff Blanco 10.13.04 at 8:51 pm

I’m here, ready to go!

La Shawn 10.13.04 at 8:53 pm

Hi Jeff. Carl returns for the debate!

Jeff Blanco 10.13.04 at 8:53 pm

Great lib pretending to be a “moderate” tonight

Dee 10.13.04 at 8:55 pm

What is so irrigating about these debates, that even when Bush wins, as he did the 2nd debate, the Democratic propaganda machine (ABC,CBS,CNN,NBC,PBS…etc) declares Bush the loser. They fawn all over Kerry’s superior debating skills (is anybody paying attention to what this idiot is saying?) and proceed to trash GW. I am not sure I can’t stomach their propaganda for a third time.

Carl Schwartz 10.13.04 at 8:57 pm

La Shawn, thank God it’s the last one! After this, 20 more days to watch this torture. I’m ready with my Australian Semillon. hats off to John Howard!! We have to show we have the same stuff

Jeff Blanco 10.13.04 at 8:57 pm

Of course, I’ll be posting a poll immediately after the debate asking who won. It’s set up and ready too go!

Kiki B. 10.13.04 at 8:59 pm

Here we go again! WHHHHOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! I brought the Dr. Pepper and chocolate chip cookies.

Jeff, Bush won! ;-)

Kiki B. 10.13.04 at 8:59 pm

Sheesh! I wish I had a laptop. It would save me a lot of running.

Jeff Blanco 10.13.04 at 9:00 pm

Not yet…. he he, let him speak first

one minute to begin

sergeantjones 10.13.04 at 9:01 pm

let the games begin!

Dee 10.13.04 at 9:01 pm

Dr. Pepper? Make it a Mountain Dew and I’am in *L*

Jeff Blanco 10.13.04 at 9:03 pm

Kerry looks like he’s got color tonight

Jeff Blanco 10.13.04 at 9:03 pm

There he goes with that fake smile again. It’s so plastic

LA CARLA 10.13.04 at 9:04 pm

ENOUGH WITH THE THANKS YOU.

Jeff Blanco 10.13.04 at 9:04 pm

Bob didn’t take long to ask Kerry a stupid question.

Of course we are going to be safer again, it’s a part of life.

La Shawn 10.13.04 at 9:05 pm

You guys work fast! By the way, I’m not watching. How do they look? Nice suits?

sergeantjones 10.13.04 at 9:05 pm

No! Sen Kerry always the politician. We that are in the Lord are always protected. The mistake line is old. No attacks since 9/11. What’s the deal?

Jeff Blanco 10.13.04 at 9:05 pm

Here Kerry goes, describing a police state
Government can control your life and make you safe, just give government the ultimate power.

And Senator, it’s not about killing people, it’s about justice

Dee 10.13.04 at 9:06 pm

Kerry will makes safe from those pesky terrorists.

Jeff Blanco 10.13.04 at 9:07 pm

Kerry’s answer to the question, “No, we are not safe, we are not safe until government has total control over the peoples lives.”

That’s not verbatim but….

and thanks Lashawn

Andy 10.13.04 at 9:07 pm

There he goes again invoking RWR, but Bush passed up the riposte

sergeantjones 10.13.04 at 9:08 pm

We have Saddam Hussien, who can find Bin Laden with the drug dealers in the mountains hiding him. The dude is rich, and money is golden.

LA CARLA 10.13.04 at 9:08 pm

DID HE CALL KERRY A LIAR. LET THE WAR BEGIN

Jeff Blanco 10.13.04 at 9:09 pm

Funny line by Bush.

Kerry just reminded me of the lady at the bank yesterday asking me if I felt safer knowing Martha is behind bars and Osama is free. I had to tell her… We ought to be looking for Osama in countries like Serbia, Germany, or better yet, we ought to look for him in Antartica

sergeantjones 10.13.04 at 9:10 pm

How about Paris!

Kiki B. 10.13.04 at 9:10 pm

“stay deadly focused on the war on terror”? But just a few days ago, Kerry was saying that he wanted to turn terrorism back into a nuisance. Which way is it, Kerry? Do you remember when terrorism was a “nuisance”? How many attacks did we have? Personally, I think it’s time to take it seriously as does Pres. Bush. Go Bushie!

Dee 10.13.04 at 9:10 pm

ooooo the litigation problem. Read the likes of Edwards! *L*

Jeff Blanco 10.13.04 at 9:10 pm

I still believe Osama is one big red mist.

cooper 10.13.04 at 9:10 pm

Give me a break! Pres Bush is responsible for Chiron not doing their job correctly? 20 years ago there weren’t even flu shots!

Kiki B. 10.13.04 at 9:11 pm

*digs through the cooler and hands Dee a Mountain Dew*

Andy 10.13.04 at 9:11 pm

What’s 5 mil w/o insurance have to do with the Flu vacin shortage? Good point by W that litigation drives away manufacturer

Jeff Blanco 10.13.04 at 9:11 pm

Wow, what a claim, 5 million lost their healthcare, almost 1/5th of them in Arizona…

Oh but only 1.6 million of those lost their healthcare due to lost jobs, btw. Strange but interesting

K. Ham 10.13.04 at 9:11 pm

Yeah, the clinton administration did an excellent job in hunting bin-laden.

cooper 10.13.04 at 9:12 pm

He’s wrong! If you walk into an emergency room anywhere in America, it is against the law not to treat them!

Dee 10.13.04 at 9:12 pm

Thanks K

Howard 10.13.04 at 9:12 pm

I have a plan

Howard 10.13.04 at 9:13 pm

Help is on the way!

LA CARLA 10.13.04 at 9:13 pm

WHY DIDN’T HE AND THE HAIR GUY DO SOMETHING IN THE PAST SIX YEARS? OR CAN I SAY 20 YEARS FOR KERRY?

Kiki B. 10.13.04 at 9:13 pm

yeah, coop–everything is Bush’s fault according to the left. :-(

sergeantjones 10.13.04 at 9:13 pm

Senators are living large! Bait and switch sounds like another raise for Congress. When have Government helped anyone outside of Welfare.

Jeff Blanco 10.13.04 at 9:13 pm

Key thing Kerry said “We are not giving this away for nothing”

THATS EXACTLY RIGHT KERRY!

It’s going to be EXPENSIVE

Andy 10.13.04 at 9:13 pm

Plan, Plan, plan — not a litnany of gripes

cooper 10.13.04 at 9:13 pm

Why does Kerry participate in a health care plan. He’s a stinking millionaire! He shouldn’t be making us pay fo rhis healthcare!

K. Ham 10.13.04 at 9:14 pm

1.6 Million Jobs Lost – it’s called 9-11 Kerry, do you want me to forgot about that!?

Kay Harrison 10.13.04 at 9:14 pm

Okay, I’m late to the party, but did that moron have the audacity to compare himself to FDR and Reagan?

Also, my hubby just asked (when I loudly called MORON) if Kerry is a *mo* ron or a *less* ron – I said it depends on how *ron* is quantified.

Howard 10.13.04 at 9:14 pm

my plan…my plan…my plan…my plan…

Jeff Blanco 10.13.04 at 9:14 pm

Bush is licking his chops, something is coming up

sergeantjones 10.13.04 at 9:14 pm

When did any President find you a job? John Kerry was not my character reference when I filled out the application.

La Shawn 10.13.04 at 9:14 pm

51 comments already?

sergeantjones 10.13.04 at 9:16 pm

Twenty years and no record, the President was thinking like me.

Dee 10.13.04 at 9:16 pm

Kerry’s plan….soak the evil rich!

Kiki B. 10.13.04 at 9:16 pm

I called it last week! Kerry’s been Botoxed! He’s looking stretched and shiny, too. Maybe a facial?

Jeff Blanco 10.13.04 at 9:16 pm

I knew Bush was coming with something, Bush is ready.

Anybody else watching this on C-span?

Jeff Blanco 10.13.04 at 9:16 pm

You pay, he goes and spends…

Good line

cooper 10.13.04 at 9:16 pm

I am a small business person. I am scared to death of Kerry’s tax plan.

Kiki B. 10.13.04 at 9:17 pm

Go, Sarge. It’s not the President’s job to give or create me a job. It’s mine and businesses job to do so. Keep the government out of corporate America.

Jeff Blanco 10.13.04 at 9:17 pm

65 I think

sergeantjones 10.13.04 at 9:17 pm

career change, and go back to school.

Kiki B. 10.13.04 at 9:17 pm

I’m already praying that Bush will win, Coop.

LA CARLA 10.13.04 at 9:18 pm

WHAT IS THAT ON W’S MOUTH?

K. Ham 10.13.04 at 9:18 pm

Jobs going oversees…yeah, like that’s something that just started under the Bush administration…

Andy 10.13.04 at 9:18 pm

How about the massive jobs lost from 3Q 2000 to 3Q 2001 this being under Clinton’s final fiscal year

cooper 10.13.04 at 9:19 pm

Since when is it the job of the president not to ship jobs overseas. There is something called personal responsibility. Why when JFK said ask not… he was hearalded. If Bush said it, they’d all scream, “rich man!”

Jeff Blanco 10.13.04 at 9:20 pm

That was a stupid line, Tony Soprano Law and Order?

Evon Bachaus 10.13.04 at 9:20 pm

Outsourcing? But part of Kerry’s plan is to outsource part of our health care by using foreign providers for drugs.

La Shawn 10.13.04 at 9:21 pm

What are some of the questions being asked?

Jeff Blanco 10.13.04 at 9:21 pm

Let’s talk about the Kyoto agreement, that encourages businesses to leave the United States.

Jeff Blanco 10.13.04 at 9:21 pm

Softballs for Kerry, Hardballs for Bush…

sergeantjones 10.13.04 at 9:21 pm

Kerry looks very scary, when you look away and look back at him. He really doesn’t answer the question. Good question Bob, it’s not Bush’s fault if many Americans don’t want to work or find a job.

cooper 10.13.04 at 9:22 pm

Exactly Evon! Outsource only if it will get you confused and get me votes!

Jeff Blanco 10.13.04 at 9:22 pm

Kerry sounds like he wants what Daniel Ortega wanted for Nicaragua.

Kiki B. 10.13.04 at 9:22 pm

Liar, Liar, Pants on fire! He does to totally blame Bush for the loss of jobs in this country, and since when does he acknowledge that outsourcing of jobs is going to happen? Flip-flop.

Howard N Camp 10.13.04 at 9:22 pm

Kerry is going to lower Corporate Taxes (Just like we just did under Bush)!

K. Ham 10.13.04 at 9:23 pm

dam*, Bush is on point tonight!!!!!

James Lamb, Jr. 10.13.04 at 9:23 pm

Guys,

Kerry is smacking Bush upside the head on Jobs and the economy right now.

Tony Soprano? Priceless!

Jeff Blanco 10.13.04 at 9:24 pm

Good job, hit the tax cuts, explain it to the people that “Taxcut Kerry” opposed Taxcuts.

Raymond C. Coleman 10.13.04 at 9:24 pm

I have a plan again? WHAT is it? Cutting taxes and giving our money back is NOT a COST Senator Kerry!

WHAT about the outsourcing by HEINZ?

Bill McBride lost to Jeb Bush in Florida because he could not explain how to pay for his programs and PLANS without raising taxes.

WHERE IS THE MATH SENATOR KERRY?

La Shawn 10.13.04 at 9:24 pm

James Lamb, my contrarian friend. ;)

sergeantjones 10.13.04 at 9:24 pm

Whew! GW is from Texas, y’all know that most Texans are not that long winded, but we understand, Kerry is a career politician and said nothing, his record does not match his rhetoric.

cooper 10.13.04 at 9:24 pm

The role of government is to stand side by side with Americans, not over them! Great line!

Dee 10.13.04 at 9:25 pm

Stop the outsourcing….Germany Take back the Mercedes Plant in Alabama as well as Hundai go back to South Korea, and Toyota, Nissan and Mercedes Benz we don’t need no stinkin car plants in Ga.

Raymond C. Coleman 10.13.04 at 9:25 pm

WHAT? Voted for tax cuts over 600 TIMES? IS Kerry HIGH?

Deborah Toms 10.13.04 at 9:25 pm

That’s it, Mr. President. List all those ways we are better off b/c of your policies — more Pell Grants, more money in your own pocket, more independence. Keep hittin’ on those votes for tax increases. Now Kerry’s trying to claim he the REAL tax cut man. That won’t make it with anyone.

Jeff Blanco 10.13.04 at 9:25 pm

Actually, on Pell grants, money gets sent back to the government every year.

Adam Wood 10.13.04 at 9:25 pm

“No one’s playing with your votes…” Good one!

LA CARLA 10.13.04 at 9:26 pm

HE PLAYED WITH THE HIS VOTES THAT DOESN’T SOUND RIGHT HE SOUNDS LEFT.

Jeff Blanco 10.13.04 at 9:26 pm

What is it with that stupid plastic smile, it’s annoying.

Renee 10.13.04 at 9:26 pm

Gay Marriage here we go!!

K. Ham 10.13.04 at 9:26 pm

To bad Kerry couldn’t “break with his party” and vote for the $86Billion for our troops.

Adam Wood 10.13.04 at 9:26 pm

OOOHHH! Called Kennedy the “conservative Senator from Massachusettes!”

HEHEHE

He’s getting back on his feet now.

Raymond C. Coleman 10.13.04 at 9:27 pm

Schieffer KNOWS that Kerry is lying. His questions are one sided and LOADED like a .45 against Bush. Bob KNOWS that Kerry supports pervert marriage.

Renee 10.13.04 at 9:27 pm

Good one on the $86 billion for our troops

Allan 10.13.04 at 9:27 pm

Aaaarrrrrrgggggggghhhhh!!!!!!!! Who came up with that stupic question about how safe our kids are? Is this another setup? The next question was no better. I thought Shieffer was supposed to be neutral!?!

cooper 10.13.04 at 9:27 pm

What!?!?!?!?!?!? Does he believe being gay is a choice????

What is the point of that question?

Many Yeah, Bob Schiefer liberal pundit does it again.

Kiki B. 10.13.04 at 9:27 pm

Ray,

I averaged out those 600 tax cuts, and that would average 30 votes a year for the past 20 years Kerry’s been in Congress. Yep! He’s on something alright. That would pretty much be impossible.

Howard 10.13.04 at 9:27 pm

Ted Kennedy is the conservative senator from Mass…

Out of the park

cooper 10.13.04 at 9:27 pm

Good answer George!

Jeff Blanco 10.13.04 at 9:28 pm

Hey James, glad you could join us.

Are you one of the crippled that Kerry is going too heal?

Well, glad you could join us and see what it’s like to be around people who don’t need government to support us. Maybe someday you could join us.

Renee 10.13.04 at 9:28 pm

Oh no…Kerry is calling God…
now he brings up Cheney’s daughter…

he is stooped to new lows

K. Ham 10.13.04 at 9:28 pm

OH GIVE ME A BREAK: INVOKING CHENEY’S DAUGHTER!!!

Andy 10.13.04 at 9:28 pm

W defends DOMA well

Now sKerry pontificates on God’s chillun & name drops Cheny

Raymond C. Coleman 10.13.04 at 9:28 pm

BUSH is on point tonight and once again kicking Kerry’s butt by using FACTS and his record. Kerry if you notice has NOT mentioned anything in his record.

USING CHENEY’S DAUGHTER? REPREHENSIBLE!!!

Adam Wood 10.13.04 at 9:28 pm

Oh yeah…

I’m more “compassionate” toward homosexuals….

Kerry’s slipping now…

sergeantjones 10.13.04 at 9:28 pm

Not Ted, Bob’s trying to change the subject. Homosexuality is a choice, GW missed it, homosexuality is a perverse act. But satan is behind this culture, Rom 1 but again GW did’nt hurt himself. Hold the judges to account. Look at Kerry who is trying to be political. All things are a choice. It’s called FREE WILL. You will have to choose!

cooper 10.13.04 at 9:28 pm

Way to be condescending Kerry!

Allan 10.13.04 at 9:29 pm

Cheney’s daughter? Why does Kerry keep invoking Republicans?

I guess that means that Kerry is being the slandering, lying liberal he was born to be.

Evon Bachaus 10.13.04 at 9:29 pm

I wish he would leave the VP’s daughter out of this. If the daughter herself wants to speak up, fine. This way it seems to me as though she’s being used.

CrankyBeach 10.13.04 at 9:29 pm

JK: “We are all God’s children.” Oh, GAG me!

Renee 10.13.04 at 9:29 pm

No follow up for Bush?? What was up with that?

Jeff Blanco 10.13.04 at 9:29 pm

Kerry thinks he’s God, Edwards claimed they were going to heal the crippled!

Dee 10.13.04 at 9:29 pm

The law allows any person to will his/her property to anyone they want, including their cat.

sharon 10.13.04 at 9:30 pm

gAY BY BIRTH…DUMB QUESTION…lb – TURN ON THE TV – W – LICK THE SPIT OFF YOUR MOUTH.

Jeff Blanco 10.13.04 at 9:30 pm

You know, Hitler went around boasting that he was a Catholic.

Renee 10.13.04 at 9:30 pm

Here he goes with his tap dance, I don’t wear my faith on my sleeve answer on abortion.

Adam Wood 10.13.04 at 9:30 pm

OK…everyone roll their eyes in unison at the “I’m a Catholic” remark….

Allan 10.13.04 at 9:30 pm

Here we go! Kerry respects, but does not follow Catholic precepts. There goes the Catholic vote.

Carl Schwartz 10.13.04 at 9:30 pm

I’m following the comments. Sounds like Kerry’s getting the softball questions from the biased lib moderator, AGAIN!! Also, sounds like GW is doing very well

Howard 10.13.04 at 9:30 pm

Rather wrote Sheifer’s question list, another fat one for Kerry on abortion

Raymond C. Coleman 10.13.04 at 9:30 pm

Why did Bob have to add the “…woman’s right to choose” tag onto the term “abortion?”

Kiki B. 10.13.04 at 9:30 pm

As a former OB nurse who has taken care of lesbian patients(don’t ask me how they got pregnant), you can’t/don’t “disallow” their partners from visiting. Please!

Howard N Camp 10.13.04 at 9:30 pm

“I can’t legislate my article of faith”???? Then why does John try so hard to legislate his?

anon 10.13.04 at 9:31 pm

thanks for opening this up for us, again!!!

between scheiffer and kerry’s voice, I just can’t listen to this, it’s putting me to sleep. I don’t believe there are going to be a lot of viewers sticking around for this.

Kay Harrison 10.13.04 at 9:31 pm

His *faith* scares me!

CrankyBeach 10.13.04 at 9:31 pm

Oh, now he’s comparing himself to the original JFK; not a Catholic president, but a president who happens to be Catholic. Gag me some more!

sergeantjones 10.13.04 at 9:31 pm

GW did’nt follow-up, because Kerry sunk himself. What is Kerry saying……

K. Ham 10.13.04 at 9:31 pm

wow…Kerry was an alterboy, I guest that means I should vote him…..

Jeff Blanco 10.13.04 at 9:31 pm

Kerry is going after the Catholic vote….

How many times will Kerry say he is Catholic tonight?

Deborah Toms 10.13.04 at 9:31 pm

I AM SHOCKED! I would never have believed Schieffer capable of a hard ball to Kerry, but the question about Catholic bishops sanctioning him was just that. Kerry was an altar boy — is that supposed to give him a pass on following the dictates of his religion?

Dee 10.13.04 at 9:31 pm

Kerry’s nuances are giving me a headache.

Cathy 10.13.04 at 9:31 pm

“We are ALL God’s children!” Only John Kerry would turn a Church sermon into a political rally last Sunday, and then, turn a political debate into a church sermon.

Steve 10.13.04 at 9:31 pm

Kerry is stumbling on gay marriage.

Goodness, we just learned he was an altar boy and he’s quoting the Bible.

He’s going to paint himself as a saint next. ;)

Andy 10.13.04 at 9:31 pm

sK I was an Altar boy –what no “I was in Nam”

Here sK goes again with faith vs deeds

Adam Wood 10.13.04 at 9:31 pm

Lemme get this straight…..

Everything in your life should be guided by your faith, BUT YOU SHOULDNT PROJECT IT?!?!?!

Allan 10.13.04 at 9:32 pm

Oh, my God! Now invoking the Almighty in his “fight”. I guess God inspired to discredit his countrymen in 1971. He’s still doing it.

cooper 10.13.04 at 9:32 pm

I’m not running as a Catholic President, I’m running for the presidency who just happens to be Catholic.

I know you are but what am I???

What a childish stupid thing to say.

You need to stand up, stand tall and not back down on your convictions. What a weasel. Who could vote for him?

Jeff Blanco 10.13.04 at 9:32 pm

How long did Kerry not tell us what his religion is, now suddenly it’s the centerpiece of his beliefs?

Andy 10.13.04 at 9:33 pm

Bush is definately behind incremental elimination of abortion, starting with PBA

Adam Wood 10.13.04 at 9:33 pm

Carl:
Absolutely! Every single pitch is directly over the plate for Kerry.

OH NO…Health insurance again?

Howard 10.13.04 at 9:33 pm

Bush: no talk of banning abortion, just reduction… who can argue with that?

Renee 10.13.04 at 9:33 pm

When ever Kerry talks about “God” and his faith I can’t help but laugh.

He is such a “false prophet”

anon 10.13.04 at 9:34 pm

I thought that comment about dick cheney’s daughter was waaaay out of line. It really put me off.

K. Ham 10.13.04 at 9:34 pm

Healthcare…zzzzzzzzzzz

Dee 10.13.04 at 9:34 pm

Health Care cost are on the rise because of the excesive regulations.

sergeantjones 10.13.04 at 9:34 pm

Wasn’t it the Catholic church that had the priest abuse of their boy’s….

Renee 10.13.04 at 9:34 pm

Yeah, Bush irritates me when he doesn’t stick with his gut and say…No … I am against abortion… period, not open to discussion:)

Samantha 10.13.04 at 9:34 pm

My sister’s here for a visit and she won’t let me watch the debate. It doesn’t sound like I’m missing anything really earth shattering. Just politics as usual.

cooper 10.13.04 at 9:34 pm

More like a pharisee Renee!

Renee 10.13.04 at 9:35 pm

Sarge that was sick:-) but funny:)

Jeff Blanco 10.13.04 at 9:35 pm

Talk about “lawsuits” remind the public that his Veep is a lawyer who sued companies.

Andy 10.13.04 at 9:35 pm

another slam on John Boy’s primary money men – trial lawyers

Renee 10.13.04 at 9:35 pm

True Coop… a Pharisee… false prophet give hims more power…

Raymond C. Coleman 10.13.04 at 9:35 pm

Kerry just does not have a record that says he will do ANYTHING excpet raise taxes and expand an already dysfunctional government.

Bush is giving details on how he will empower the PEOPLE and has the record to support his details. Kerry is being vague and evasive and reiterating how he wants to and WILL TRY to radically expand government.

Adam Wood 10.13.04 at 9:35 pm

“When I was in Vietnam, I was a Catholic who believed strongly in a woman’s right to use. And Health care reform.

Shhhh… I really mean nationalizing it….don’t tell anyone…

Allan 10.13.04 at 9:35 pm

How about people themselves being responsible? The cost has risen because of 1) new technology (this ain’t your country doctor making housecalls) 2) Kerry’s running mate causing malpractice insurance premiums to go up by powers of ten and 3) illegal aliens going to trauma centers for a cold or a headache.

Neither candidate will mention any of these.

Jeff Blanco 10.13.04 at 9:36 pm

Kerry looks as drab as Bush did in the first debate.

K. Ham 10.13.04 at 9:36 pm

Yes Kerry, EVERYTHING’S is Bush’s fault…deep sigh

Raymond C. Coleman 10.13.04 at 9:37 pm

Canada cannot even get drugs efficiently to its measly 65 million people. How are they going to manufacture enough for them and US?

Andy 10.13.04 at 9:37 pm

Is this circular or what? We make drugs and sK wants to reimport out of Canada — price controls by proxy. How about helping make it cheaper within the US from the get go

Kiki B. 10.13.04 at 9:37 pm

Medicare is not healthcare, Dipwit! Also, Canadian drugs?? What’s in them? Are they safe? Probably not, just like Mexico’s aren’t.

Renee 10.13.04 at 9:37 pm

Allen, That is a great point, especially the illegal aliens (since I have to deal with that at my own medical facility).

sergeantjones 10.13.04 at 9:37 pm

Is’nt healthcare for all Americans expensive?

cooper 10.13.04 at 9:37 pm

He’s going to give us healthcare provided to the congress. Great now through taxes we’ll fund congressional healthcare and our own! It’s Hillaryycare at its best.

Jeff Blanco 10.13.04 at 9:37 pm

You know, I think Kerry is trying to tell us that he was abused as a child. Maybe that’s why we are suddenly finding out about his “faith”

Andy 10.13.04 at 9:38 pm

W gives good juxtaposition between his 3.5 years vs sK’s 20 years of generating results

Jeff Blanco 10.13.04 at 9:38 pm

OMG, that look on Bush’s face, that was too funny.

Adam Wood 10.13.04 at 9:38 pm

Oh, and by the way:

THE _LEFT_ COMPLAINS ABOUT BUSH’S “SMIRK?!?!”

Howard N Camp 10.13.04 at 9:38 pm

Kerry launched bills? Oh – he offered ammendments to bills!

cooper 10.13.04 at 9:38 pm

President Bush cannot force seniors to sign up for the discount card. It is still a free America. well… until sKerry has his way. NOT

Renee 10.13.04 at 9:38 pm

My Mom is going nuts with Kerry…
She is a nurse and she is just going on and on about most people don’t take care of themselves (even when they do have insurance)…
and don’t go to the doctor when they should and can…
and then cry when it’s to late…
just like Kerry

Raymond C. Coleman 10.13.04 at 9:38 pm

Samantha you ARE missing a brilliant performance by our President.

Allan 10.13.04 at 9:39 pm

Ah! Another PLAN!

La Shawn 10.13.04 at 9:39 pm

Anybody face-checking Kerry?

cooper 10.13.04 at 9:39 pm

Very simple. I’ll ask that GW force you. But I won’t.

Raymond C. Coleman 10.13.04 at 9:39 pm

Forget the newspapers. How are YOU going to pay for it.

Jeff Blanco 10.13.04 at 9:39 pm

I have the perfect healthcare plan, one I think we all should adapt. I get it for free, the rest of you pay… that’s the Democrat way!

Vote Democrat, it’s easier than getting a job!

James Lamb, Jr. 10.13.04 at 9:39 pm

Hey LaShawn! How ya doin! Thanks for having me.

Hi everyone! Glad to be here!

I dunno, I think Bush is a tad off his game tonight. The simple wealth of knowledge Kerry is pulling off — the specificity of it — is hurting Bush. He was better last week.

Simply saying “He has no record” over and over again isn’t enough.

Bush is the incumbent; it’s about his record, such as it is.

Howard 10.13.04 at 9:39 pm

Bob S: Hey John, here’s another vchance to rebut Bush on your PLAN

I gotta Plan…

K. Ham 10.13.04 at 9:39 pm

Wow..Two leading news networks: can you say: “Libreal Media Bais”

Dee 10.13.04 at 9:39 pm

Here we go again…rolling the tax cuts. Taking a drink…. from my mountain dew. Ah he said plan, take another drink.

Adam Wood 10.13.04 at 9:39 pm

OH, yeah…
Cite two “national networks” pal…THAT gives you credibility.

Renee 10.13.04 at 9:40 pm

Dee you are going to get drunk on the Dew at this rate:-)

cooper 10.13.04 at 9:40 pm

You’re right Renee. Mu husband’s a clinical social worker. People refuse healthcare they have all the time.

Doug 10.13.04 at 9:40 pm

Kerry’s healthcare plan is simple: bankrupt the country so we all have equal access to a third rate healthcare system.

sergeantjones 10.13.04 at 9:40 pm

Yea, I thought GW 3.5 vs 20 years is a good point. What has Kerry done the last 20 years. Say it loud, No Record! should be the Headline in the morning papers.

Kiki B. 10.13.04 at 9:41 pm

BUY INTO MEDICARE EARLY AT 55-64?? Oh, Lordy Lordy. There goes the taxes!! What an idiot, moron, jerk, etc. He has no brain.

Carl Schwartz 10.13.04 at 9:41 pm

Richard, I like what you just said. POTUS is having a good night??

K. Ham 10.13.04 at 9:41 pm

Good comback BUSH on the “media” response form Kerry!!!!

Andy 10.13.04 at 9:41 pm

sK posits the classic enticement start with it’s voluntary, you can buy in or leave it. Sure as the sun will rise in 10 hours, the govt will make it mandatory within 10 years if we let sK get away with that harebrained

OOOOH, nice little jab about credible news orgs :D
I heard the audience snickering

Raymond C. Coleman 10.13.04 at 9:41 pm

He has a plan again? He STILL has not said how he can pay for it?

Democrats held power in Congress and Senate for over 45 years and they did NOTHING for healthcare and prescription drugs.

OUCH!!!! GREAT SHOT AT THE NEWSPAPERS AND CBS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Allan 10.13.04 at 9:42 pm

Finish the remark on quoting news orgs, darn it! Why won’t he stick the knife in? And then he quotes an original report. Good job, but stick the knife in…and twist.

Kiki B. 10.13.04 at 9:42 pm

Dee, you’re going to need a porta potty at that rate. ;-)

Deborah Toms 10.13.04 at 9:42 pm

Did Kerry just say we could “avoid surgery and dialysis” to lower health care costs? His spiel on health care was a mumbo-jumbo mish-mash.

Evon Bachaus 10.13.04 at 9:42 pm

Clever reference by Bush questioning the relaibility of “news” sources.

cooper 10.13.04 at 9:42 pm

George just kicked his butt with that answer.

Jeff Blanco 10.13.04 at 9:42 pm

I’m face checking Kerry, but his face is so annoying….

Adam Wood 10.13.04 at 9:42 pm

Anyone else here from Tennessee?

K. Ham 10.13.04 at 9:43 pm

Actually Kerry, VA funding went up under Bush…oh nevermind Bush already said it…

Raymond C. Coleman 10.13.04 at 9:43 pm

Bush lets CBS and the “media” have it. I LOVE IT! The Bushster is on fire tonight? Kerry is CLEARLY on defense!!!

Andy 10.13.04 at 9:43 pm

sK: I’m blue blood and have blue cross & blue shield, so there

Dee 10.13.04 at 9:43 pm

Kerry: “Read my lips no goverment run health program” Oh I’m sold *L*

Kiki B. 10.13.04 at 9:43 pm

Hey, LaShawn! We are over 200 posts! Alright!!

sergeantjones 10.13.04 at 9:43 pm

some Veteran’s are always complaining, did’nt Kerry complain? and our VA Benefits are given because we signed up, the obligations are being met, we are treated good at the VA.

Jeff Blanco 10.13.04 at 9:44 pm

Aren’t these guys supposed to be the same age? Why does Kerry look so much older than Bush?

Raymond C. Coleman 10.13.04 at 9:44 pm

GO MR. PRESIDENT GO. You are making us proud and you have Kerry on defense.

cooper 10.13.04 at 9:44 pm

Yes. He’s not backing down on SS reform. It’s about time! Please let’s elect thi sman and let that take place.

Renee 10.13.04 at 9:45 pm

Bush is on taget with social security

K. Ham 10.13.04 at 9:45 pm

Wow Bush involked the name of Democrat, now here’s the part where Kerry mentions McCain, Lugar, and Hagel…..

Raymond C. Coleman 10.13.04 at 9:46 pm

Since when is Kerry for ANY program that gives the citizens a choice?

Renee 10.13.04 at 9:46 pm

Here goes Kerry…
“We don’t trust you with your money…let us keep up… Trust us”

Adam Wood 10.13.04 at 9:46 pm

Good job….cite “Monyhan (sp?), a Democrat.”

It doesn’t quite satisfy me quite as much as if he’d said:

“The fact is that that this is a crazy Ponzi scheme, and one generation is just going to have to buy everyone else out. Let’s start now.”

cooper 10.13.04 at 9:46 pm

An invitation to disaster says Kerry. Because I’m rich and I don;t want you to be either. You’re too stupid to make your own retirement choices. Let us just keep handling it for you.

Allan 10.13.04 at 9:46 pm

Can’t allow people to invest their own money…no, no. Let me and other nutjobs like me have it and we’ll parcel it back to you at a starvation rate. What a maroon!

Kevin 10.13.04 at 9:46 pm

There goes Kerry on why we’re not smart enough to handle our retirement funds. Government Knows Best!

Kiki B. 10.13.04 at 9:47 pm

AAAAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGHHH!!!!!!!!! I can’t stand Kerry’s condescension! Why shouldn’t I be able to put MY OWN MONEY into MY OWN SOCIAL SECURITY ACCOUNT?? Why do I have to keep paying into a plan that I probably will not ever be able to use.

Jeff Blanco 10.13.04 at 9:47 pm

Exactly Kerry’s position on EVERYTHING, trusting the people to do the right thing is a distaster.

Kerry will not trust the American public with their own safety, with their own healthcare, with their own taxes and not even with their own retirement investments.

Anybody agree, he’s an ULTRA LIBERAL?

Renee 10.13.04 at 9:47 pm

We paid down the debt…
we did this…
we did that…

Blah, blah, blah

mark burroughs 10.13.04 at 9:47 pm

its not your money !

Allan 10.13.04 at 9:47 pm

I love the “we balanced in the nineties…” Right, in 1996 after the Republican Congress came into being.

Howard N Camp 10.13.04 at 9:47 pm

Kerry would be “Fiscally Responsible”? For the first time in his life – if he uses his wife’s money.

cooper 10.13.04 at 9:47 pm

I have a record of fiscal responsibility yeah, when or if Terrrayzah loses her money I’ll divorce her and marry another rich woman.

Andy 10.13.04 at 9:47 pm

sK promises to raise taxes to maintain SS benefits

Raymond C. Coleman 10.13.04 at 9:47 pm

You balanced the budget by RAISING TAXES in the largest national tax gang rape in US history.

Adam Wood 10.13.04 at 9:48 pm

“I will not privatize it…”

That’s reason enough for me not to vote for him!

At least he hasn’t tried to cite some Biblical reason for it….at least I don’t think so.

sergeantjones 10.13.04 at 9:48 pm

The media does not like Alan G do they? Kerry is on the mat, Bob is counting down 76543….

Raymond C. Coleman 10.13.04 at 9:48 pm

There NEVER was a surplus. It was only a projection that was NEVER realized.

Renee 10.13.04 at 9:48 pm

I have another name Jeff but I will respec LB tonight:-)

Howard 10.13.04 at 9:48 pm

Kerry to young people: F- Off and die ’cause you don’t vote

Adam Wood 10.13.04 at 9:48 pm

“…national tax gang rape in US history.”

LOL! Good one!

Kiki B. 10.13.04 at 9:48 pm

Oh, Massah Kerry. Let me roll over and pee myself in gratitude and submissiveness to you.

Jeff Blanco 10.13.04 at 9:48 pm

I think Kerry told the American public, and I think they just picked up on it, he wants to control every aspect of our lives.

Andy 10.13.04 at 9:49 pm

sK designed a SS system good thru 2075?? That’s better than the USSR & Mao’s 5 yr plans!

Howard 10.13.04 at 9:49 pm

Grow our way to pay for his SS plan… He is a supply sider now

Jeff Blanco 10.13.04 at 9:49 pm

Senator Kerry, how exactly are YOU going to create a private sector job when YOU NEVER HAD A PRIVATE SECTOR JOB.

Howard N Camp 10.13.04 at 9:49 pm

Since when did the President “Create Jobs”? Doesn’t he have a plan?

K. Ham 10.13.04 at 9:49 pm

Yes, back to where we were at the end of the 1990’s, on the verge of a ‘.com’ bubble burst

Raymond C. Coleman 10.13.04 at 9:49 pm

Great point Andy on the juxtaposition comment.

Renee 10.13.04 at 9:50 pm

You guys are killing me, I am laughing so hard here:)

Ooops…voted to tac SS…more than once…Ooops…

Bush is “da Man” tonight

Kevin 10.13.04 at 9:50 pm

Good one Andy. Kerry=Mao

cooper 10.13.04 at 9:50 pm

Good one KikiB! ;-)

Howard 10.13.04 at 9:50 pm

too fast.. can’t read all great comments…

Jeff Blanco 10.13.04 at 9:50 pm

I heard more of the same, another good line.

He ought to respond with,

“more of the same, I have a plan, it’s smarter.”

Kiki B. 10.13.04 at 9:50 pm

Kerry isn’t even trying to disguise the fact that he’s a Communist tonight.

Doug 10.13.04 at 9:51 pm

The top 1% cuurently pays 33% of all taxes. The top 10% pay 66%. Let’s just raise their share to 100% and the rest of us will retire.

Kevin 10.13.04 at 9:51 pm

As a small business owner, you rule Bush!

Allan 10.13.04 at 9:51 pm

I’ll bet Kerry has a better PLAN!

Howard N Camp 10.13.04 at 9:51 pm

Bush says the Dem’s tax increase cost 1M jobs. GO GW!

Adam Wood 10.13.04 at 9:51 pm

“Only president to have lost jobs…”

Pardon me, La Shawn, but:

WHAT A LOAD!!!eone, anyone cite me a single private sector job, outside of the defense, space, or tax accountancy industries, that has been government-created?

cooper 10.13.04 at 9:51 pm

Immagration! Finally. I didn’t think it would come up.

Raymond C. Coleman 10.13.04 at 9:51 pm

Kerry still talking about these dadgum plans!

Dee 10.13.04 at 9:51 pm

Imigration oooo, buckle up here we go.

Kiki B. 10.13.04 at 9:51 pm

TY, Coop. :-)

Howard 10.13.04 at 9:52 pm

Vee-Hickles, I love it

sergeantjones 10.13.04 at 9:52 pm

ya’ll are funny, this live blogging is great! Thanks LB it’s like watching football with the fellas…

Adam Wood 10.13.04 at 9:52 pm

Kerry had a plan in Vietnam….

Jeff Blanco 10.13.04 at 9:52 pm

Here’s where the pavement hits the road for both candidates.

Kerry has more to lose with this question

Raymond C. Coleman 10.13.04 at 9:52 pm

YEAH! Immigration!!! About time.

Howard N Camp 10.13.04 at 9:52 pm

Temporary work card will create jobs!

K. Ham 10.13.04 at 9:53 pm

I propose a hugh hall spanning the entire US-Mexico border, much like the Isreali wall separating it from Palistine..

cooper 10.13.04 at 9:53 pm

Gotta go guys. I have a meeting I can;t get out of. Keep up the good work. I’ll be back for a review later. :o )

Howard N Camp 10.13.04 at 9:53 pm

Yea – and a ATM in the wall for their JOB CARD!

Allan 10.13.04 at 9:53 pm

Kerry has a PLAN to get them to vote for him.

Kiki B. 10.13.04 at 9:54 pm

Uh, Sarge. Thanks for including me as one of the fellas, but I’m not one of the fellas, at least the last time I checked I wasn’t. hee hee!

Howard 10.13.04 at 9:54 pm

Middle class family is not making it… what a load. we are a nation of sops, I guess.

Kevin 10.13.04 at 9:54 pm

Bush causes all inflation! It started with him!

Adam Wood 10.13.04 at 9:54 pm

The increase in gasoline?

Did he just say the increase in gasoline?

Jeff Blanco 10.13.04 at 9:54 pm

Kerry is losing the debate right now….

He’s going back to the previous question…..and AVOIDING IMMIGRATION..

We in the hispanic community want to know, what’s your stand?

Kiki B. 10.13.04 at 9:54 pm

Hubby is an accountant, and said the 1929 comment doesn’t pass the smell test…Lol.

Howard 10.13.04 at 9:54 pm

More leaking today…grammar police

Hitman 10.13.04 at 9:54 pm

OMG, tis is torture. Bush sounds whiny and defensive and Kerry is getting away with one lie after another.

cooper 10.13.04 at 9:55 pm

One last parting shot. My husband just said “He’s really sick of those stinckin illegal social workers coming across and stealing his jobs!

joking guys, just a joke.

K. Ham 10.13.04 at 9:55 pm

I would also propose sentry guns at the border, but I can’t cater to my extreme right wing views.

Andy 10.13.04 at 9:55 pm

I like Bush’s approach to aliem temp work cards. If we take pressure off the illegal job seekers, the Border patrol can focus on terrorist sneaking accross

Raymond C. Coleman 10.13.04 at 9:55 pm

I’m middle class Mr. Kerry and I AM MAKING IT!!!!

SO WHAT if rich people get richer? They earned it.

Bush, PLEASE hit him with the Heinz Corporations outsourcing.

Jeff Blanco 10.13.04 at 9:55 pm

Wait a minute, if you know a Democrat, ask them, how was their dogfood supper last night.

Howard N Camp 10.13.04 at 9:55 pm

Oh boy – amnisty by K

Allan 10.13.04 at 9:55 pm

Here’s my PLAN…pay attention now. I’ll toughen up the border, but I’ll probably have to accuse the Border Patrol of atrocities later.

sergeantjones 10.13.04 at 9:55 pm

Immigration!!!!!Did any one see the movie, Day after tomorrow, at the end American went over the border of Mexico. kerry should speak spanish when he’s says exempt aliens.

cooper 10.13.04 at 9:55 pm

They should’ve kept terrrayzzza out.

Dee 10.13.04 at 9:55 pm

Hey wait a minute, if it wasn’t for dead pleople and illegal immigrants there would be no democratic party. *L*

Kevin 10.13.04 at 9:56 pm

Iris…points to eyes…thanks for that John

Jeff Blanco 10.13.04 at 9:56 pm

Biased question

Howard N Camp 10.13.04 at 9:56 pm

Yea – put an IRIS ID technology in the Rio Grand.

Good Idea K

Kiki B. 10.13.04 at 9:56 pm

Kerry is such a stupid idiot. If an illegal immigrant comes here and gives birth in the US, their child is an American citizen, therefore, none of them can be deported. Why do you think so many of them come here to give birth? Many of them don’t even disguise the fact that they aren’t from America.

Raymond C. Coleman 10.13.04 at 9:56 pm

With that comment, Kerry just lost New Mexico, Texas, Arizona and Florida on that “give ‘em a break” comment.

Andy 10.13.04 at 9:56 pm

Too bad W didn’t acknowledge the terrorists when he had the chance

K. Ham 10.13.04 at 9:56 pm

OK What exactly was Kerry’s plan for securing the border?

Howard 10.13.04 at 9:56 pm

SK talking about screened border crossings, yet AQ will cross thru mtns in AZ, what a dip smack

Adam Wood 10.13.04 at 9:56 pm

LIE!!!

The gap between rich and poor is NOT growing wider.

Grand…raise the minimum wage, then we WILL see inflation.

La Shawn 10.13.04 at 9:57 pm

Who won???

Jeff Blanco 10.13.04 at 9:57 pm

Day After Tomorrow? Yeah, I saw it, I saw better acting in a high school play.

Raymond C. Coleman 10.13.04 at 9:57 pm

Bush is going to “KILL” Kerry on raising the minimum wage. Cost of goods and services and HEALTHCARE will go up Mr. Kerry.

Howard N Camp 10.13.04 at 9:57 pm

Minimum wage $7 will lay off 18 M women.

Howard 10.13.04 at 9:57 pm

Min wage= woman issue

Kevin 10.13.04 at 9:57 pm

How much did that 1% pay in taxes again?

Andy 10.13.04 at 9:57 pm

Minimum wage is a crock. Raise it and more young inexperienced workers will be out of a job

Allan 10.13.04 at 9:57 pm

Time for the old Bolshevik line…the gap between rich and poor. Nevermind that it’s everybody getting richer. Hell! Raise it to 40 dollars an hour, we’ll all pay it in prices later and that wage will be a poverty wage.

Adam Wood 10.13.04 at 9:58 pm

“They should’ve kept terrrayzzza out.”

ROFL!!

Raymond C. Coleman 10.13.04 at 9:58 pm

Kerry is a HYPOCRITE. What is wrong with being rich. I am sick of him bashing our best performers.

Renee 10.13.04 at 9:58 pm

It does…

Thank God I didn’t wait for Kerry (he would knock my salary down to $7)…

Howard 10.13.04 at 9:58 pm

La Shawn + u r HOT!

Hitman 10.13.04 at 9:58 pm

Minimum wages up,taxes for the “wealthy” up,health care for all, my god, it’s Utopia!

Dee 10.13.04 at 9:58 pm

A dream come true a $12.00 and hr burger flipper.

Allan 10.13.04 at 9:58 pm

If we would raise the minimum wage we’d soon find a cure for AIDS.

Howard 10.13.04 at 9:58 pm

Bush min wage=edu

Kay Harrison 10.13.04 at 9:58 pm

Puhleeze – my family of four on one income is definitely lower middle class income-wise, but we live pretty darned well – and have more than we need. We make some sacrifices, but we also have made choices that lead to those sacrifices – and we did it willingly. We have no jealosy or animosity to those who’re getting richer due to their own hard work or choices in life!

Jeff Blanco 10.13.04 at 9:59 pm

Bush is stealing the Education issue from the Democrats, and he’s doing it right in front of Kerry… PRICELESS.

sergeantjones 10.13.04 at 9:59 pm

Now Dee, you know its the Republicans, who are causing voter fraud (ssshhh! please) Why do Dems always bring this stuff up, when I go vote I check in, fill out my ballot and I leave. Dems fuss at the checkin even before they fill out the ballot. Voter fraud is a distraction. Dems get 90 percent of the black vote…why is there voter fraud in these communities. The same people are still winning in the Dem party.

Kevin 10.13.04 at 9:59 pm

Knowledge economy requires knowledge. You go GW!

Renee 10.13.04 at 9:59 pm

LOL

Raising the min wage sounds like the cure for everything

Andy 10.13.04 at 9:59 pm

sK has a plan for AA in minimum wages for women. I guess that means women will not find jobs as men get preference — more bang for the buck in the minds of those who rather pay women 76cents on the dollar.

Raymond C. Coleman 10.13.04 at 9:59 pm

Wealth redistribution by raising the minimum wage will cost jobs and raise prices of EVERYTHING. It will raise costs in healthcare and even make employers cutbenefits.

Kiki B. 10.13.04 at 9:59 pm

1% of Americans got $89 billion in tax cuts. Then on to American values, raising the minimum wage. WHAT DID THE OTHER 99% OF US GET IN TAX CUTS?? I know my hubby and I got tax cuts. We like it!! Kerry certainly wouldn’t let us keep more of our money, and we aren’t in the top 1% of the country in income. Not even close! Furthermore, I highly doubt that people making $200,000/yr. are in the top 1%, either.

Renee 10.13.04 at 9:59 pm

GO Dubya, Go Dubya, Go Dubya

Howard 10.13.04 at 9:59 pm

Kay: right on. the porrest of the poor in USA is in the top tier of wealth worldwide

Adam Wood 10.13.04 at 10:00 pm

“Minimum wages up,taxes for the “wealthy” up, health care for all, my god, it’s Utopia!”

LOLOLOLOL!!!

Ya’ll are making me laugh so hard I can’t type!

Jeff Blanco 10.13.04 at 10:00 pm

I’m waiting for this line…

I’m for education, and 3.5 billion children are worse off in our schools since this president…blah..

and I have a better plan……it’s smarter, it’s better, faster… “

mark b 10.13.04 at 10:00 pm

when i’m president i will raise everyone’s income to 200K that way i can tax the sh*&t out of every american…now thats a fair paln

Howard 10.13.04 at 10:00 pm

Bob S. (BS) Asks question to bush on behalf of Kerry…

Jeff Blanco 10.13.04 at 10:00 pm

Bush seems sure of himself…
Kerry doesn’t

sergeantjones 10.13.04 at 10:01 pm

take the education and change your position, and mininum wage want be an issue.

Raymond C. Coleman 10.13.04 at 10:01 pm

WHAT? You have voted numerous times to weaken the 2nd Amendment. Kerry is a liar!!!

Allan 10.13.04 at 10:01 pm

“I don’t know how you can govern in this country…” Only true statement K has made so far.

Howard 10.13.04 at 10:02 pm

Andy 10.13.04 at 10:02 pm

sorry sK, just because SCOTUS says it is, doesn’t make a constitutional right. More so with Roe v Wade

K. Ham 10.13.04 at 10:02 pm

Yes Kerry, It’s Bush’s fault that Black Males are unemployed in NY…what a load of sh**!

Renee 10.13.04 at 10:02 pm

I love when Dubya calls Kerry liberal…HE HATES THAT!!!

sergeantjones 10.13.04 at 10:03 pm

John Kerry, some our young black americans want to be hip hop stars, can we truly say they are looking for a job.

Allan 10.13.04 at 10:03 pm

Was Bush slapping TERAYZAAA there? English = not first language?

Jeff Blanco 10.13.04 at 10:03 pm

“Liberal senator from Mass….”

My wife didn’t speak a word of English when she came here, that was in 2000. She speaks english just fine, and she did it without government spending….

Raymond C. Coleman 10.13.04 at 10:03 pm

“Funding” programs. Where does this boy Kerry think this money comes from.

TOUCHE’ on the “percentage” increase. Measuring? Democrats are against educational metrics.

After school programs? It is NOT my job to take care of YOUR kids.

K. Ham 10.13.04 at 10:04 pm

oh the draft issue this oughta to be good!

Howard 10.13.04 at 10:04 pm

BS: Draft, Reserve back door draft, what can u do to help…soft ball

Kiki B. 10.13.04 at 10:04 pm

OOOOOOHHHHHH!! Kerry just told us to “be the judge”. Now isn’t that contrary to the left’s mantra? We aren’t supposed to judge anyone. Oh wait, I mean we aren’t supposed to judge them. Judge away, then.

Jeff Blanco 10.13.04 at 10:04 pm

Oh my gawd, he’s the “Moderater”?

Kerry just admit it, the draft is being preoposed soley for political purposes. It’s not needed.

Kevin 10.13.04 at 10:04 pm

All US Senators’ salaries should be given to National Guard members. That’s what we can do for them.

Raymond C. Coleman 10.13.04 at 10:04 pm

CHARLIE RANGEL is the ONLY person who has offered a bill for a draft.

Dee 10.13.04 at 10:04 pm

as a former Latina child, I owe my education to my parent’s hard work not some Goverment Plan. Screw you senior Kerry.

Deborah Toms 10.13.04 at 10:04 pm

How to get out of the Reserves on time?? Maybe Kerry can give some hints on dishonorable discharges.

sergeantjones 10.13.04 at 10:05 pm

As a military veteran it is a pleasure to serve my country. Who made Kerry top recruiter for our military, when he is anti-war.

Andy 10.13.04 at 10:05 pm

here we go with the backdoor draft

Sorry sK: you don’t raise 2 divisions and double the # of SF overnight. It will take 2 – 3 years just standing that up, that’s just plain reality and saying otherwise won’t make it happen any faster.

Howard 10.13.04 at 10:05 pm

More troops, diluted special forces, deploy nat guard at homeland to relieve pressure…pure crap.

Then, France and Germany will be his backdoor draft

Adam Wood 10.13.04 at 10:05 pm

“I’m not going to appoint a judge to the court who is going to take away constitutional rights”

As my wife just came in and pointed out, if they’ve put that into the constitution, then I’m going down to the free clinic tomorrow and demanding an abortion!!

Dee 10.13.04 at 10:06 pm

Kerry: “America is strongest, when it kisses French arse”.

Kiki B. 10.13.04 at 10:06 pm

Here we go again! (sigh) “9/10 troops in Iraq…blah, blah, blah. I’ll expand the military.” I believe it was the Dems. in the ’90’s who decimated our military, and if there is a shortage today, it’s because of them. Oh yeah, and carry will get us allies. Nevermind the 30 countries who are involved with us in Iraq and Afghanistan now.

K. Ham 10.13.04 at 10:06 pm

Real alliances! you mean with coutries that were brided by Iraq (France, Russia)!

CrankyBeach 10.13.04 at 10:06 pm

Kerry says we need to work through a “real” alliance. Tony Blair, call your office… you are a fake ally!

Raymond C. Coleman 10.13.04 at 10:06 pm

We are at the 10PM mark and I declare President Bush the victor!!!!

Ricky 10.13.04 at 10:06 pm

Good lord, Shieffer, “some” have called it a back-door draft? That was JOHN KERRY IN THE LAST DEBATE, you CBS-DNC hack.

Good lord, don’t they even pretend to be unbiased any more?

Allan 10.13.04 at 10:06 pm

The best way to reduce the pressure is to keep the French out of it.

Renee 10.13.04 at 10:06 pm

Hey I am with you Kevin.

Matter fact you ever notice how the senators always conveniently let there pay raise slide through (but they can never vote on a relavent bill that affects us)

Jeff Blanco 10.13.04 at 10:06 pm

What’s o great about this is that this debate is turning back into Iraq. Bush is stronger on this issue. I think it was an inadvertent mistake by Bob, but it works to Bush’s favor.

Kevin 10.13.04 at 10:07 pm

Bam! Bush smackdowns Kerry with best way to take pressure off troops is to succeed in Iraq. POW!

Andy 10.13.04 at 10:07 pm

There sK goes again; “gotta have a REAL coalition”

Kiki B. 10.13.04 at 10:07 pm

Thanks for serving, Sarge. We do appreciate it. My brother is stationed at Ft. Hood, and has already been to Iraq twice. His opinion: We have plenty of troops. :-)

Renee 10.13.04 at 10:07 pm

Allan has the best comment of the night:-)

Jeff Blanco 10.13.04 at 10:08 pm

No nation will ever have a veto over us? He held Bush accountable to France’s veto.

Allan 10.13.04 at 10:08 pm

Right! He says that, but he’s ready to turn over any domestic decision to the UN.

Carl Schwartz 10.13.04 at 10:08 pm

We have the strongest alliance in the world. Bush, talk about John Howard!!

Kevin McCarty 10.13.04 at 10:08 pm

These two are as fundamentally opposite as you could find.

sergeantjones 10.13.04 at 10:08 pm

France and Germany and Russia took money from Saddam, they are not allies. Kerry is the career politician “slick willy II” somebody check his pulse, the test is over.

Andy 10.13.04 at 10:08 pm

Global test = no foreign say so?

Renee 10.13.04 at 10:08 pm

I have a former boyfriend there now and he says the same thing. They are doing good and they are sick of all the negative press.

Howard 10.13.04 at 10:08 pm

You can’t pass any test… a grand slam

Dee 10.13.04 at 10:08 pm

1990 coalition…Kerry voted against! Buyah!

Kiki B. 10.13.04 at 10:08 pm

Kerry isn’t going to put our nation’s security in the hands of another country? Bullcorn! What about “passing the global test”?

Allan 10.13.04 at 10:08 pm

Oh, oh. There’s the media’s memorable moment…Bush’s “international world”.

K. Ham 10.13.04 at 10:08 pm

SCORE! BUSH JUST POINTED OUT KERRY GULF WAR I VOTE!

Raymond C. Coleman 10.13.04 at 10:09 pm

I disagree with the President here. We need more guns in the hands of law abiding citizens. Especially with so many muslim terrorists around.

Renee 10.13.04 at 10:10 pm

Hey Sarge, that’s what I called Clinton when I was still in the Army…Slick Willy (matter of fact, he was the reason I registered to vote and did vote finally)

K. Ham 10.13.04 at 10:10 pm

That reminds me I have to clean my assault rifle.

Dee 10.13.04 at 10:10 pm

“He was a hunter in Vietnam” Kerry

Adam Wood 10.13.04 at 10:10 pm

“Good lord, don’t they even pretend to be unbiased any more?”

No, they quit pretending a long time ago. They just continue to insist that they are.

Kiki B. 10.13.04 at 10:10 pm

Go, Bushie! Punish those who commit crimes, not keep guns out of the hands of law-abiding citizens.

Kerry is a gunman and hunter? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! And, I’m Miss Universe.

Howard 10.13.04 at 10:10 pm

I’m a hunter since a kid and will not tamper with 2nd amendment.

I’m a prossecutor

No lead from president so congress can’t do it’s job

Andy 10.13.04 at 10:10 pm

sK: failure of the admin not to DEMAND continuance assault gun ban. So if we ban the guns, the criminals won’t have AK47s?

Raymond C. Coleman 10.13.04 at 10:10 pm

Now he was not only a vet but also a COP? How does banning only 19 scary LOOKING weapons make a difference?

Michelle 10.13.04 at 10:10 pm

I can’t take it anymore!! I just can’t stand to listen to Kerry’s lies and propaganda. What kind of evil person uses little kids as a prop for his agenda? “1% of americans received $89 billion dollars in tax cuts and little kids lost their after-school programs”. What the ??

Jeff Blanco 10.13.04 at 10:11 pm

“Try to ban the AK? I got ten upstairs with a case of handgrenades” —ICE T

KLand 10.13.04 at 10:11 pm

Sorry, but I had to switch between mythbusters and the debate. I kept hoping that the mythbuster squad would help out point out some of the myths being tossed about: Myth #1 – I have a plan… , Myth #2 – It’s all Bush’s fault , Myth #3 – All the economic woes in the US can be saved by taxing the middle class .

sergeantjones 10.13.04 at 10:11 pm

Kerry was in law enforcement too, 20 years in office and NO RECORD! Headline in the morning.

Evon Bachaus 10.13.04 at 10:11 pm

LaShawn, Sorry, I can’t keep up with all the questions but some of them were,
Is homosexuality a choice?
What about a draft?
Will you have a litmus test for Supreme Court Justices in reference of Roe v. Wade? Bush no–just justices who interpret the Consitiution. Kerry yes–no justices who would overturn a Consitutional right. Having been a member of NOW for several years, I know that Kerry is caught on this one. Many abortion supporters will tolerate NO restrictions and not only that one must practically stand up and cheer every time abortion rights are mentioned. This is the reason I finally quit NOW even though I belonged to a fairly responsible chapter that accomplished many worthwhile things.
Now they are talking about assault weapons. Kerry is blaming Bush about failure to extend the ban.

Kay Harrison 10.13.04 at 10:11 pm

BS!

No one can walk out of a gun show today with an AK-47! What kind of crap is he spouting!

RepJ 10.13.04 at 10:11 pm

Kerry is full of old tired rhetoric while Bush is pummelling his record in the senate.

K. Ham 10.13.04 at 10:12 pm

Affirmative Action: Kerry can you say “Pandering”

Renee 10.13.04 at 10:12 pm

Yeah, Kerry has to use Bill Clinton’s name so he can rile up my fellow African Americans (cause we LOOOOOOVVVEEEE him so much)

Dubya needs to slap him down on this victimology program of AA.

Stop the madness

Howard 10.13.04 at 10:12 pm

Affirmative action softball to Kerry.

BS is channeling Blather …

Allan 10.13.04 at 10:12 pm

Now this administration is racist? Has he lost it altogether?

Raymond C. Coleman 10.13.04 at 10:12 pm

Most gun deaths in the nation are caused by HANDGUNS! And most of the deaths and the highest murder rates occur in cities run by DEMOCRAT mayors and city officials.

Bob is asking those loaded questions again.

jim 10.13.04 at 10:12 pm

yup…the criminals go to gun shows to get their AK-47’s….

Shannon 10.13.04 at 10:12 pm

Not able to watch the debates cause I’m at work! But this has been a tremendous help- thanks for posting all your opinions and comments. :)

Jeff Blanco 10.13.04 at 10:12 pm

Affirmative Action means one believes that minorities are incapable and too incompetent of playing on a level playing field with white people.

Dee 10.13.04 at 10:12 pm

Affirmative Action Nuance Alert!

Adam Wood 10.13.04 at 10:13 pm

“I’m a hunter.”

“Really, I am.”

“Promise.”

“I especially like to hunt deer by crawling on my belly through the leaves at 2:00 in the afternoon with a 20-guage.”

“I’m a hunter.”

“My favorite weapon is my banned illegally-imported Chinese assault rifle.”

Renee 10.13.04 at 10:13 pm

Here he goes, pandering to the Jesse and Al crew.

sergeantjones 10.13.04 at 10:13 pm

go to school and be no fool, you can do it!

Raymond C. Coleman 10.13.04 at 10:13 pm

Kerry has talked more about CLINTON’s record than his own. Un-Be-liev-able.

President Bush is correct not to meet with racists.

Evon Bachaus 10.13.04 at 10:13 pm

The Democrats love to perpetuate the myth that somewhere there are very wealthy people who we can force to pick up the tab for everything we want but don’t want to pay for.

Kiki B. 10.13.04 at 10:13 pm

Oh, geez, affirmative action. My hubby was just a little down and sharing with me today that in the past year, the only promotions that have been given in his company have been given to “politically correct” groups. One of those people who is a friend of his even admitted that she didn’t know how she got the job, as 2 other people who were more qualified than she were passed up. Needless to say, my husband’s considering looking to go to another company.

RepJ 10.13.04 at 10:13 pm

Kerry trying to race card, now? TIRED AND BORING.

K. Ham 10.13.04 at 10:13 pm

Why should Bush meet with the NAACP, CBC, and the likes of Jesse Jackson…I wouldn’t, and I’m black.

Jeff Blanco 10.13.04 at 10:14 pm

As a hispanic I find affirmative action to be offensive. Why on earth does anybody think that the coloir of my skin makes me inherently weaker too white people?

Typical liberals.

Kevin 10.13.04 at 10:14 pm

Bush calls Kerry liar re: Black Caucus. Turnabout is fair play.

Allan 10.13.04 at 10:14 pm

I don’t have one student out of 120 who isn’t on some kind of financial aid.

Andy 10.13.04 at 10:14 pm

sK: W is the 1st Prez to never meet with NAACP. SO WHAT!!! One doesn’t expect respect, one earns it and Julian & Queazy did nothing but bite W’s hand

sergeantjones 10.13.04 at 10:15 pm

The Black Congressional Caucus are haters of GW, they have been tearing and dividing this country since 2000. Election officials from other countries….

Raymond C. Coleman 10.13.04 at 10:15 pm

That would be Congressional Black Caucus not black congressional caucus and what have they passed in the last 30 years? Why do we still need a racially divided separatist group in Congress anyway?

Jeff Blanco 10.13.04 at 10:15 pm

I have posted the poll on my blog, ready to go… vote when you are ready….

he he he

Michelle 10.13.04 at 10:15 pm

Can Kerry find ANYTHING positive to say? I feel like we, as Americans, are a bunch dumb nijits that can’t do anything right and Kerry’s going to come in and save us. Yea! Help is on the way! Personally, I LIKE my tax cuts, my healthcare costs have gone DOWN, and I’m working my butt off to make money like every American does. Capitalism rules!

Dee 10.13.04 at 10:15 pm

The lib condscention towards minorities is stomach turning.

Adam Wood 10.13.04 at 10:15 pm

Uh-oh…the race card isn’t sticking…

“Mr. President, let’s go on to a new question…”

Kevin 10.13.04 at 10:15 pm

I think, therefore I pray.

Renee 10.13.04 at 10:15 pm

Here here K. Ham

No the President should not and I am glad he did not. If they can not be productive to all citizens who need help, they are useless in this day and age.

Allan 10.13.04 at 10:16 pm

The libs are all vomiting at this. This is great!

Jeff Blanco 10.13.04 at 10:16 pm

How many think Kerry will mention the word catholic at least five times? More or Less answer!

K. Ham 10.13.04 at 10:16 pm

We forgot Bush meet with the National Urgan League, but they’re moderate so I guest they don’t count in Kerry’s eyes.

Allan 10.13.04 at 10:17 pm

What poll Jeff?

Howard 10.13.04 at 10:17 pm

Adam, Nailed it… Next!

sergeantjones 10.13.04 at 10:17 pm

hey Ray, they are very irrelevant.

Jeff Blanco 10.13.04 at 10:17 pm

Kerry looked at Bush as if too say.. God doesn’t want people to be free.

Raymond C. Coleman 10.13.04 at 10:17 pm

WHAT black “leadership?”

PRAYER and GOD….YES!!!! He honors The Almighty! Great move. Kerry will deny God I am sure.

This is a great moment for Bush acknowledging his faith.

“I stand on principle.” GREAT QUOTE!!

I am tearing up as if I was watching “Rudy” watching my President make me proud.

GO BUSH GO!!!!!

Renee 10.13.04 at 10:17 pm

I’ll take $5 on the catholic comment

Kay Harrison 10.13.04 at 10:17 pm

Amen, Mr. President! We pray for you, and we’re praying for a beautiful weekend, hehehe – got our tickets to see George W. Bush this Saturday in a Victory 2004 Rally!

Kevin 10.13.04 at 10:17 pm

Kerry: Almighty = Teresa

Kiki B. 10.13.04 at 10:18 pm

Here they go again asking Bush about his faith. If you believe in God, attend church, etc. WATCH OUT!! I heard Paul Begala on MSNBC one day allude to the fact that if Christian’s didn’t vote, Dems. would win the election.

Here goes the liberal left showing what a bunch of God-hating people they are, and trying to paint Christians, including Bush as religious nuts who are unstable. Then we have Kerry who doesn’t practice his religion, so he’s stable and okay.

James Lamb, Jr. 10.13.04 at 10:18 pm

Bush considers his faith to be a personal thing.

Watch as he tells all of America about it.

“God wants everyone to be free…” – Pres. Bush.

Even if it kills them Mr. President? Even if it bankrupts us?

Jeff Blanco 10.13.04 at 10:18 pm

Click on my name it will be there.

RepJ 10.13.04 at 10:18 pm

God bless President Bush.

Howard 10.13.04 at 10:18 pm

We all measure words from the bible…

now shift to native americans

Raymond C. Coleman 10.13.04 at 10:18 pm

Yes they are SergeantJones. Useless as a screen door on a submarine.

Kevin McCarty 10.13.04 at 10:18 pm

Kerry just alienated 40% of his base

Allan 10.13.04 at 10:19 pm

How many groups can K pander to in one statement without saying anything? How can he go from God to the rich/poor myth?

Jeff Blanco 10.13.04 at 10:19 pm

Schools one for the haves (Private schools) and those for the have nots (public schools)

Andy 10.13.04 at 10:19 pm

W gets golden opportunity to testify to his faith (I love the fact that people pray for me) and belief in a higher authority and standing on principle. Mentions the Faith based Initiative. Freedom is a gift from the Almighty.

sK: uses it to pander by “respecting” W’s faith. Apparently, Saddam is a gift from the higher being for Iraqis. He can’t even talk about his persoanl faith, rather he has to pontificate on our shortcomings in showing faith by works

Kiki B. 10.13.04 at 10:19 pm

Kerry just said that “love your neighbor as yourself and love the Lord your God with all your heart” were the TWO GREATEST AMENDMENTS. ROFL, ROFL, ROFL. What an idiot.

Adam Wood 10.13.04 at 10:19 pm

WHOA!!!

Did he just say “work?”

Renee 10.13.04 at 10:19 pm

ROFL

Kevin that was great:

Kerry: Almighty = Teresa

Jeff Blanco 10.13.04 at 10:19 pm

Bob, just tell people your on Kerry’s side…

days after 9-11 lost under this president?

Aack~!

Howard 10.13.04 at 10:19 pm

Bush squandered 911 unity… how will you bring that back, John?

Raymond C. Coleman 10.13.04 at 10:20 pm

The Congressional Black Caucus and the NAACP are as useless as a one legged Que in a step show.

Terrific job except for the 7 seconds reading “My Pet Goat?”

Renee 10.13.04 at 10:20 pm

Kiki, Did he really say amendments?

Adam Wood 10.13.04 at 10:20 pm

Locked out of meetings?

K. Ham 10.13.04 at 10:20 pm

Ohhh, Kerry’s complimenting Bush to give some credence to his forcoming criticism….this is so obvious.

Kiki B. 10.13.04 at 10:20 pm

Yes, Renee, he did. I am still laughing.

sergeantjones 10.13.04 at 10:20 pm

Is Kerry trying to be compassionate, NOT! Thanks to the likes of Daschle, Kennedy, so called black leaders in Congress, the Dems did not want to work with GW.

Jeff Blanco 10.13.04 at 10:21 pm

Wow Kiki,

Good job, I didn’t catch that..

I’m still waiting for him to claim that the crippled will walk when he becomes the president.

Kevin 10.13.04 at 10:21 pm

Kerry finds common ground under mansion in Gestadt

Andy 10.13.04 at 10:21 pm

W speaks from the heart

sK has ro think hard of something good to say about W & faith, but his distate for W flows from the heart

James Lamb, Jr. 10.13.04 at 10:21 pm

“Bush squandered 911 unity… how will you bring that back, John? ” – Howard

First step is voting out Pres. Bush.

Good thing Bush is making that easier with his less-than-informed performance in this debate.

Adam Wood 10.13.04 at 10:21 pm

“The Congressional Black Caucus and the NAACP are as useless as a one legged Que in a step show.”

That’s PRICELESS!!

RepJ 10.13.04 at 10:21 pm

Kerry is seriously rattled. He knows that he’s losing.

Howard 10.13.04 at 10:21 pm

Did not mention Halliburton, John McCain instead

Renee 10.13.04 at 10:21 pm

Campaign finance reform…
Don’t see him complaining unless it is against the Swift Vets

Jeff Blanco 10.13.04 at 10:21 pm

I didn’t know how partisan this town was….

good line.

Kiki B. 10.13.04 at 10:22 pm

I guess if Kerry is God(ala cripples walking when he’s elected), then those will be his first two amendments, Renee…Lol.

Michelle 10.13.04 at 10:22 pm

Oh for crying out loud. This moderator is the WORST ever. He’s just as negative as Kerry. “Americans are more polarized today than ever”?
Oh god. Here we go. Kerry: We’re the most divided EVER”. What rhetoric! OH NO! Not divided!! People, it’s an election year. How can you claim to “reach across the aisle”, but turn EVERY comment into a negative one that bashes the other side?

sergeantjones 10.13.04 at 10:22 pm

GW is working it!!!!!

Kevin 10.13.04 at 10:22 pm

Lamb: Continue to chant your mantra and others will believe

Howard 10.13.04 at 10:23 pm

Retreat and Defeat… a Hat trick!

James Lamb, Jr. 10.13.04 at 10:23 pm

“The Congressional Black Caucus and the NAACP are as useless as a one legged Que in a step show.” – Raymond C. Coleman

That’s not priceless, that’s ignorant.

Nothing is gained by dissing the elected representatives of American citizens.

But diss Pres. Bush, since he wasn’t elected. :)

K. Ham 10.13.04 at 10:23 pm

We’re divided because the Democrats still can’t get over the 2000 election!

Renee 10.13.04 at 10:23 pm

LOL, that is good Kiki..
Thanks

Wow, last question…
that went by fast.

Uh oh, we are going to here about Tereza….

Jeff Blanco 10.13.04 at 10:23 pm

“A plan of retreat and defeat in Iraq” great line

Kay Harrison 10.13.04 at 10:23 pm

Thank you, W! It’s about time you called attention to the fact that John McCain is supporting YOU, not nitwit over there to your left (pun intended!)

Kevin 10.13.04 at 10:24 pm

Lamb: Continue to rant as your candidate loses.

RepJ 10.13.04 at 10:24 pm

Love Laura Bush

Phil Paro 10.13.04 at 10:24 pm

Bush is the winner, send the liberal wimp home, I’m tired of liberals taking my money and spending, spending, spending

Jeff Blanco 10.13.04 at 10:24 pm

Bush just hit one out of the ball park…

He had the auditorium laughing… Kerry can’t make people laugh.

Adam Wood 10.13.04 at 10:24 pm

John Kerry:

“The most important thing I’ve learned is:

‘Shove it!’
‘Idiot!’
‘Scumbag!’
‘Let the [brown] children run naked.’

That’s what I’ve learned.”

Kiki B. 10.13.04 at 10:24 pm

Bush is a smart man. He knows to listen to the wife…Lol.

Big difference between Bush and Kerry. GW and Laura are very comfortable with each other, and very loving. John and Tuhrayza are distant and cool.

RepJ 10.13.04 at 10:24 pm

Liberals might as well vote for Bush. Everyone else is. :)

Howard 10.13.04 at 10:25 pm

Kerry: Married up… some more than others… classic

Dee 10.13.04 at 10:25 pm

Kerry married up….”he’s just a Gigolo….”

Michelle 10.13.04 at 10:25 pm

Awwww! What a great comment by Bush. Terrific way to end the debate. Show ‘em the personal side.

Jeff Blanco 10.13.04 at 10:25 pm

Well I was wrong for once.

Kiki B. 10.13.04 at 10:25 pm

The only nice thing Kerry can say about Tuhrayza is that he married up…Lol. Boy, did he ever! What an income increase.

Kevin 10.13.04 at 10:25 pm

“send the liberal wimp home.” Hear that Lamb? You can go home now.

La Shawn 10.13.04 at 10:25 pm

Oh, James, my man! You’ve not read my archives! Check under the “Dinosaurs” category. I think the NAACP should go the way of the dinosaur: extinction!

Michelle 10.13.04 at 10:25 pm

Using your mother’s death??!!! Ack!

Renee 10.13.04 at 10:25 pm

ROFL…

John Kerry:

“The most important thing I’ve learned is:

‘Shove it!’
‘Idiot!’
‘Scumbag!’
‘Let the [brown] children run naked.’

That’s what I’ve learned.”

Yeah, he’s the Tereza puppet.

Adam Wood 10.13.04 at 10:25 pm

“Integrity, integrity, integrity…”

Too bad it didn’t take.

sergeantjones 10.13.04 at 10:26 pm

Kerry married for power, money, and politics.

Andy 10.13.04 at 10:26 pm

ref strong women
Bush gets 4 heartfelt laughs from the audience

sK has 2 mins to think and generates a couple laughs — methinks laughs at Tray-zu, not with you

RepJ 10.13.04 at 10:26 pm

It is impossible for a person who subscribes to a philosophy of moral-relativism to understand the concept of integrity.

Raymond C. Coleman 10.13.04 at 10:26 pm

Sharing a personal moment. Good move Bush. “Marrying up? Bad quote.

“Integrity?” Your mother knew you didn’t have any. THAT is why she said it 3 times to you.

Allan 10.13.04 at 10:26 pm

I’m gonna be sick…they keep me honest???????? The marry up line was stolen.

Doug 10.13.04 at 10:26 pm

taxes, taxes, taxes

Dee 10.13.04 at 10:26 pm

AAaarg Adam…Mountain Dew all over my screen LMAO!

Howard 10.13.04 at 10:27 pm

Kerry quotes BS channelling Blather in closing. No Bias here… move along

Jeff Blanco 10.13.04 at 10:27 pm

Did Kerry point out something Bob said to make his point?

Wow, what a “Moderater”

Kevin 10.13.04 at 10:27 pm

Most excellent, Renee

Kevin McCarty 10.13.04 at 10:27 pm

How do you spell that?
IDeer? Idear? Ayedeer?

Renee 10.13.04 at 10:27 pm

I think they said first wife whom he divorced (he tried to bribe the catholic church to annull instead) was rich also…

He’s good at it…
and I doubt he uses Blue Cross:-)..Botox is not covered ;-)

Adam Wood 10.13.04 at 10:27 pm

My apologies to your computer :)

Allan 10.13.04 at 10:27 pm

Who wrote this K oration? Is he trying to be Cicero?

Kiki B. 10.13.04 at 10:27 pm

Let’s see…in one debate, Kerry has dropped the names of JFK, Bill Clinton and FDR. (Yawn)

K. Ham 10.13.04 at 10:27 pm

Mr. Lamb:

It’s pretty obvious you still haven’t gotten over the 2000 election. And I doubt you’ll get over this one if (when) Bush wins!

sergeantjones 10.13.04 at 10:28 pm

Kerry is the career politicians….he wants the power of the country to hand it to France, Russia, and Germany. He is really trying to sale the snake oil. Keep hope alive, you Jesse told him that.

Phil Paro 10.13.04 at 10:28 pm

We can do better, just not with you Kerry
Flush the Johns

Deborah Toms 10.13.04 at 10:28 pm

Oh, wow. What do you know — Kerry served in Vietnam. He just said so himself. Time to wake up.

Kiki B. 10.13.04 at 10:28 pm

Kerry wants my trust? I don’t think so! He certainly hasn’t earned it. Oh, and now he has to say, “God bless the United States of America”. Why is it that the left doesn’t acknowledge God until they need Him in order to win an election?

Dee 10.13.04 at 10:29 pm

Kerry going into his “I am a Patriot mode” God Bless the USA…what a fake. HoChiMing’s Biatch!

K. Ham 10.13.04 at 10:29 pm

What’s the “I was in Vietnam” count so far? I think I stopped counting….

Renee 10.13.04 at 10:29 pm

I have to thank all of you for making my stomach hurt from laughing so hard.

sergeantjones 10.13.04 at 10:30 pm

Should I vote early, yes, me and my daughter will be volunteers as election workers, and she is 19. Go GW!

Allan 10.13.04 at 10:30 pm

“…firm resolve, clear purpose…” Scratch K on this one.

Howard 10.13.04 at 10:30 pm

Bush is weak in closing, sounds like a canned speach that he is reading like being forced by his 4th grade teacher… otherwise, he Kicked Butt 2-night

Andy 10.13.04 at 10:30 pm

In closing sK offers TESTED leadership. Uh??? All in all he’s defendsive about his position. He asks us for his trust?? After all that mudsliging.

W: optimistic about the future. Working together we can continue our pursuit in excellence in edu, med, charity and win GWOT. Pursuit terrorist and encourage liberty in the wake.

Adam Wood 10.13.04 at 10:30 pm

GREAT CLOSE!!

Kay Harrison 10.13.04 at 10:30 pm

GWB always seems to find different and equally positive notes on which to close his comments – Kerry seems to spout the same wooden speech each time.

Raymond C. Coleman 10.13.04 at 10:30 pm

BUSH WINS!!!!

Kiki B. 10.13.04 at 10:30 pm

Kerry served in Vietnam? Really? Why hasn’t he said so before? ;-) Hee hee!

Jeff Blanco 10.13.04 at 10:30 pm

Don’t forget to vote by clicking on my name

RepJ 10.13.04 at 10:31 pm

Bush won this one hands down.

sergeantjones 10.13.04 at 10:31 pm

Don’t listen to Chris Matthews or Ron Reagan.

Allan 10.13.04 at 10:31 pm

Bush cleaned K’s clock, but the media polls will show it was a draw or will give K a slight advantage. If there is any justice in the world, Bush gets 40 states.

Deborah Toms 10.13.04 at 10:31 pm

It was stolen, Allen, and from President Reagan’s funeral.

Phil Paro 10.13.04 at 10:31 pm

I am going to be sick what a kiss and a hug for JK from his mom, I thought she died

Kiki B. 10.13.04 at 10:31 pm

OOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHH!!!! Tuhrayza doesn’t look happy, and I wouldn’t be after that marry up crack. Kerry didn’t even say that he loved his wife. What a cad!

Dee 10.13.04 at 10:31 pm

Get ready for the Lib Spin Machine….sure the’ll declare Kerry a winner.

Howard 10.13.04 at 10:32 pm

Good point Kiki… most of us guys prolly missed that

Kay Harrison 10.13.04 at 10:33 pm

Hey, since I’m from Florida, let me just say, the National Witless Service has advised that Hurricane Kerry is threatening our coast, and our only hope is to hide behind a Bush!

sergeantjones 10.13.04 at 10:33 pm

JK got a king size sofa, with a sauna, no sugar tonite.

Andy 10.13.04 at 10:34 pm

Bush 3 fluid and on message sKerry 0 defensive

Prior to start of debate, Jennings claims that it’s a dead heat in the polls.

At the conclusion, 1st thing Jennings mentions is that Bush was fluid, especially on faith. Seems weird to hear him giving a few sentences in praise of Bush’s faith. Pessimistically, he ends it by saying it remains to be seen if the nation shares his view

Evon Bachaus 10.13.04 at 10:35 pm

LaShawn, Thanks. Cooper, Thanks for the kind comment.

Raymond C. Coleman 10.13.04 at 10:35 pm

You guys if you can take it should go to CBS and listen to Dan Rather. Just amazing. He sounds defeated.

Kiki B. 10.13.04 at 10:35 pm

ROFL, Kay and Sarge.

K. Ham 10.13.04 at 10:35 pm

Great post guys, I have to come back here more often. See yall’

Adam Wood 10.13.04 at 10:36 pm

WOW!!

535!

That blows 166 right out of the water!

Deborah Toms 10.13.04 at 10:36 pm

The President won more women with his “I can’t say how much I love my wife” than Kerry did with all his pandering about the minimum wage and health care combined.

Dee 10.13.04 at 10:36 pm

Good Night folks, it was fun. Thanks La Shawn.

Andy 10.13.04 at 10:37 pm

ABC pundits think that sKerry floundered on taxes and improving his likeability. Am I really listening to ABC? They’re talking more about Bush than sKerry and the potential gains

La Shawn 10.13.04 at 10:43 pm

Live-comment thread is closed, but check out the after-debate post!

Trackbacks are still open.

Thanks everyone! :D

Raymond C. Coleman 10.13.04 at 10:38 pm

TA-RAY-ZA looked like she is going to do some “straightnin’ with John and that “marrying up” comment. Not to mention that he got his rump kicked like Steve Spurrier playing Georgia!!!
