Unrelated Addendum: I want to make sure everyone sees this. The IRS is reviewing the NAACP’s (“The Dinosaur”) tax-exempt status. In the words of Martha Stewart, “It’s a good thing.” See the New York Times (registration req.) article. Also see my favorite Dinosaur post. Michael King has a few thoughts.

One more thing…
You know what I was thinking? Idiots making videos and threatening the United States may actually help President Bush get re-elected. Drudge has the exclusive on the contents of the video. A sample:
“You are guilty, guilty, guilty. You’re as guilty as Bush and Cheney. You’re as guilty as Rumsfeld and Ashcroft and Powell…,” the man states…“People of America, that was the verdict now for the sentencing: as participants and partners in the crimes of the regime, you too shall pay the price for the blood that has been spilled.”
Perhaps if enough people get angry about cheap stunts like this, they’ll understand why terrorists name the Bush administration in these absurd videos: Bush is doing the job of preventing more terrorist attacks on U.S. soil and vows to keep fighting on our terms.
Just a thought…

Lashawn,
I agree with you on this, with a small caveat…
Depending on how people see a video like this one, and who edits it and bookends it with commentary, will really influence its impact.
Granted, the folks that already think Bush is responsible for 9/11 will think this buttresses their arguments, and folks like you and me (and a bunch of other people that hang out here) will only strengthen our resolve.
But I do think the average person (Joe Sixpack, we call him in Philly) will see this as a call to arms, and head out to the polls to spit in the eye of al queda.
But maybe that’s why ABC was going to sit on this until Nov 3…
SCSIwuzzy, ditto. With regards to NAACP, it’s about time
From NYT >Bond encouraged blacks to vote, adding, `We know that if whites and nonwhites vote in the same percentages as they did in 2000, Bush will be re-defeated by 3 million votes,’ according to a transcript provided by NAACP aides.
How Bond can call for the defeat of a particular candidate and not think this is partisan politics is beyond me. It is about time someone challenged these dinosaurs.
I got an e-mail from my Alumni list about this article with the comment
Another Way to Try and Keep Us Down
THIS IS ANOTHER REASON FOR US TO VOTE
Boy oh boy! [can only shake my head!]
Ok so how do you stop the bolding once you start it?
Im voting on nov 2nd and no ones going to prevent me i dont care what the liberal news media says since you cant trust these reptiles its getting as bad as that and we hopfuly wont have any DNC brownshirts here in etna,ca we dont want them at all here
Put the text you want bold inside the tags for bold, which are “strong” and “/strong.”
You close the tag by putting a slash in front of the word. Helpful?
lets see . . . testing/ did it works?
hmmmm
test test
heheheh Thanks LaShawn!
I live it when things work like they are supposed too.
Now if I could only spell!
“Idiot Terrorist Videos May Help Bush”
Remember when we couldn’t show the terror videos, cause they might have secret messages in them. I wonder what happened to change that.
Actus,
Maybe the FBI, NSA et al have cracked the code, and know what the secret message are going to direct the terrorists to do. And they are waiting for them, like a spider in a web. Ask Montie, deterence is great, but a successful sting is priceless.
Would you call this tape voter intimidation?
RepJ,
That’s what the terrorist think it is. But we are not spainards.
From washtimes.com/national/20041028-112110-7032r.htm, the IRS is also investigating NEA.
The National Education Association (NEA) pumped more than $1 million into 67 mailings for the Kerry-Edwards presidential ticket and against President Bush in the past four months, Federal Election Commission reports show.
Twenty-one NEA mailings in behalf of the Kerry campaign, produced by an Arlington firm whose clients include the Democratic Party, went out to hundreds of thousands of public school employees across the country this month at a cost of $468,333. The union paid for all the mailings from its general operating budget, not its political action committee, the reports show…
Sic ‘em Fido
‘Maybe the FBI, NSA et al have cracked the code, and know what the secret message are going to direct the terrorists to do’
oh ya thats gotta be it.
This is off-topic, but I saw a bumper sticker that cracked me up and I wondered if you created it, LaShawn? It said
“Annoy a liberal – work hard, succeed, and be happy”
I think I want one of those.
Frankly I agree with the decision of the IRS to (finally) conduct a review of the NAACP. However all this will do is give the NAACP (false) justification to once again arouse the (blind) passions of their base by playing the ‘race card’ against the Bush administration.
I agree with you. The release of the terrorist video reminds everyone what a serious issue the global war on terror really is. I had suspected that ABC was going to hold back on the tape for political reasons because it helps President Bush to have the terrorism issue as the major issue of the campaign. That was simply a personal suspicion and I can’t back that up. However, the delay might simply have been that they were allowing the government to verify it first. The bottom line is that everyone who goes to the voting booth on November 2nd needs to understand what’s really at stake. Are we going to elect leaders that will fight terrorism and eliminate the threat before they attack us again (those are the Republicans) or are we going to elect leaders that will appease and outsource our foreign policy to the corrupt and ineffective United Nations (those are the Democrats). The choice has never been clearer.
About the NEA post: And it doesn’t matter that some of the union members are Republicans. That’s what union dues get em huh?
I can only laugh.
From Drudge Report:
Kerry Says Saddam ‘Might Be Gone’ Had He Been President
Fri Oct 29 2004 10:02:35 ET
NBCNEWS Brokaw interviewed John Kerry Thursday evening.
Brokaw: “If you had been President, Saddam Hussein would be in power.”
Kerry: “Not necessarily.”
Brokaw: “You said you wouldn’t go to war against him.”
Kerry: “That’s not true. Because under the inspection process, Saddam Hussein was required to destroy those kinds of materials and weapons.”
Brokaw: “But he wasn’t destroying them.”
Kerry: “That’s what you have inspectors for. That’s why I voted for the threat of force, because he only does things when you have a legitimate threat of force. It’s irresponsible to suggest that if I were President, he wouldn’t be gone. He might be gone, because if he hadn’t complied, we might have had to go to war, but if we did, we would have gone with allies, so the American people weren’t carrying the entire burden. And the entire world would understand why we did it.”

And if the Allies said ‘Heck no we won’t go’? More inspections?????
Geezzzz!!!!!
there really are two Americas. The reality that we all live in, and the fantasy that Kerry lives in.
By the way, what’s the big deal about a missing cache of 380 tons of exceedingly potent HMX and RDX explosives??
I mean we ALL know that we FAILED to find ANY WMD in Iraq! Sadam did have any! So what is the big deal?????
“I mean we ALL know that we FAILED to find ANY WMD in Iraq! Sadam did have any! So what is the big deal????? ”
I don’t get it.
‘Twenty-one NEA mailings in behalf of the Kerry campaign, produced by an Arlington firm whose clients include the Democratic Party, went out to hundreds of thousands of public school employees across the country this month at a cost of $468,333. The union paid for all the mailings from its general operating budget, not its political action committee, the reports show…’
I remember reading somewhere that unions are allowed to spend an unlimited amount of money reaching out to their own members. I guess its like a captive audience meeting. I don’t know if this has to be done via a PAC though.
“I mean we ALL know that we FAILED to find ANY WMD in Iraq! Sadam didn’t have any! So what is the big deal????? ”
Typo
actus; No joke about the captive audience since MOST teachers unions memberships are MANDATORY.
Lashawn: The NY Times has set up some special pages for bloggers so that they can link to stories and no registration is required.
(http://nytimes.blogspace.com/genlink) This page allows you to enter a registration required URL and turn it into one that does not requrie registration.
(http://nytimes.blogspace.com/) This page has links to all of the recent stories which have been posted. Its also valuable because it shows you the different versions of stories as they change over the day.
It is amazing to what lengths terrorists will go to…..always preying on the innocents. This video made me angry more than anything. I think that if people would really think about what is going on here….and they are not sure who to vote for….I think voting for Kerry would be a disaster. I feel that Kerry is too soft on terrorism…doesnt take it as seriously as he should. Bush is on the terrorists tails and they don’t like it. Bush puts into action the things he says he will do.
Ernest….your comment is awesome! Not too many of us have 12 homes…..we just have our humble abode…..now that is reality!
I hope you have your industrial strength flak jacket
on LaShawn, cause your going to $#%@^& for snappin’ the
NAALCP. The IRS is really only thinking about revocation
for that particular convention as a warning of sorts.
As far as the NEA goes … I don’t know what’s going to
come of that.
That bozo with blanket on his head … have you read the
bio on the guy they think it is? Hippy kid (nothing
wrong with hippies as long as they bathe) which they
didn’t because they didn’t have running water OR power.
Vegetarans too! Peace and love.
if the terrorist/Islamofascist in that video is in fact Adam Gadahn, we have his Imam, Muzammil Siddiqi, to thank at least in part for the conversion of Adam to a radical, anti-American, hatred-filled POV.
more about it here:

(I hope it’s OK that I included this link, LB)
on a side-note – did any of you know the word “jihad” is mentioned in the Qu’ran 23 times?
‘ No joke about the captive audience since MOST teachers unions memberships are MANDATORY.’
how does that capture you as an audience. I was referring to management meetings were people get propagandized and can’t leave.
Actus,
I think the complaint is that they pay for those fliers, whether they agree with them or not, and they aren’t a scorecard or the like, but a blatant bit of partisan propaganda.
Why does sKerry keep thinking that somehow if Russia, Germany & France might help ease our load if they were on board? These countries are already griping about how stressful and strained their forces are in assisting in Afghanistan & Bosnia/Kosovo. In a perfect world, at best we could expect no more than 25K from those three combined, even if they had absolutely no other obligations around the world, and not much more in the way of money. Even India could provide more troops than those 3.
Plain & simple, ain’t now way, no how, that those three would assist in removing Saddam — they had too much financial entanglements to even consider it. So if sKerry did it his way, we would still be going in “unilaterally”. More likely, nada, with yet another Blix led inspection going on now.
Besides, what is he talking about, if he was president? He wasn’t a contender in 2000. That’s like me saying if I was POTUS, I wouldn’t have had the Bay of Pigs on my hands.
Does anyone know if it’s true that ABC withheld the last 15 minutes of the tape from the govt? That’s one rumor going around
I actually saw an ad on tv last night. I do not remember the guys name but I do remember the shock at what he said. he is running for the house or senate and he said, and I still can not believe this…
“If you elect me I will get us out of Iraq tomorrow” then he said his name, “and I approved this message”
even Kerry hasn’t made that claim. Yes the guy was a dem. Mj even asked what kind of idiot would make a claim like that.
We figure it has to be some kind of hoax ad or something.
BTW we are in TX
We may not be Spaniards but some of us tend to emulate them. The question is how many of us do? Obvioulsy the two Johns are in complete agreement with the Spaniards as are Bill and Hill. This head in the sand approach is not new. Remember the appeasment of the Socialists in 1938 it was hailed by all the media as “Peace in our Time”; the “peace lasted less than two years. Tell your friends that we must stand up to international bullies. Vote for freedom and real peace, vote Bush.
Rod Stanton
Cerritos
Hee hee, mjslady. I would like to know how he would get us out of Iraq “TOMORROW” if elected, especially since election day isn’t for 4 more days. He must be magical. Time travel maybe?
Rod,
The spainards among us are already voting sKerry-Edwards. I don’t think many new people would come out to vote for them, or abandon Bush. I do see some people leaving Kerry, however. The ones who think terrorism is just a red-herring.
This tape “/will” help Bush. Sorry..also “have” to try the “/bold” thing..
Help LaShawn..I hate to take up space and look stupid at the same time..but how do you do that”/Bold” lettering?
Raninmaker
To make it bold type it just like you see it here: <strong>blah, blah</strong>
And for italics: <em>blah, blah</em>
The “blah, blah” is whatever you want to say
I look at the tape as a good sign, the same with the recent Osama tape. In Spain they slaughtered hundreds of people to send a message, here in the US they were only able to release a couple of videos.
Think about it. If they could have, they would have. That more than anything else tells you who to vote for.
Thanks Andy
I just visited your site, Ray. Nice-looking family. How old are your sons?
Kerry’s NUISANCE is back! Then we find out that he is also a great fan of Michael Moore! wow!
His talking points sound like those of the DNC.
I have been telling everyone I know, the stakes at this election are too high to play around. We need to re-elect Bush.
Did the NAACP claim they have never endorsed any candidate? Then some black Pastors have not really endorsed any candidate too, they just tell their members who they ought to vote for.
Krazy kerry is acting like a fool again i mean he is trying to use every excuse possible to get himself elected and now that the totaly corupt NAACP and other left-wing groups are piling on against bush i mean just think if bush gets relected they will be screaming theif theif and be demanding a recount and as for bruce springsteins call for impeaching bush what about bill clinton? where was mr mouth springstein when bill clinton was doing his dirty work selling our militray secrects to the chi-coms for illegal campaign controbutions to his corupt demacratic party?
La Shawn,
I just read over the whole text of the latest bin Laden tape, and one thing is perfectly clear to me now that I have, Osama has seen Farenheit 9/11! It is just sickening that an American filmmaker can produce such propaganda that our greatest enemy would chose to follow its message in sending us a threat.
What would our parents have done to the likes of Michael Moore if Hitler or Tojo had viewed a film of a similar nature and followed its premise in hurling threats at us?
Glad the NAACP is finally getting what’s coming to it…
Any outfit that has Julian Bond with it, deserves a serious IRS reaming…
