When Tiger Tips His Hat…

October 6, 2004

I don’t usually do this and probably never will again because I’m not a celebrity hound or a golf fan, but I’m busy at my day job and don’t have time to do significant blogging (are those enough qualifiers?). *Taking a breath* So I decided to post about one single Tiger Woods trait that I [...]

The Debate: Did Soros Hijack Factcheck.org?

October 6, 2004

The answer is “No”, but I like provocative titles. I didn’t watch or listen to the debate, but I read that Vice President Cheney (winner) mentioned Factcheck.org on the air, and George Soros, counting on people’s errors, had the domain “Factcheck.com” redirected to GeorgeSoros.com. Nothing wrong with that, I suppose. Apparently it worked.

Cheney-Edwards Debate…Yay?

October 5, 2004

Is anyone watching the debate? I didn’t think so. They’re live-blogging over at Vodkapundit, though. One of the Power Line guys has a camera crew in his house. Gee. Knock yourselves out… ShapeofDays is not live-blogging tonight, but rumor has it that Jeremy is typing furiously. The Captain’s on it, too. Our House is blogging [...]

The Burden Of Acting White

October 5, 2004

Through a link on BlackElectorate.com, I found a recent study conducted by Duke University called “Breeding Animosity: The ‘Burden Of Acting White’ and Other Problems of Status Group Hierarchies in Schools.” (PDF) (Update (10/7): The study is no longer available online. You have to e-mail one of the authors to receive a copy. Why, I [...]

Pseudo Leadership And Black Groupthink

October 5, 2004

Armstrong Williams’s latest column has me thinking. His piece is about self-appointed black leaders and groupthink, but it prompted me to reflect on the reasons I became a conservative and started writing about politics. So-called black leaders prey on fallen human nature and racial tensions. Even before I realized that was the case, I sensed [...]

On Global Permission To Protect America And Other Idiotic Ideas

October 4, 2004

I’m not following the post-debate news because frankly, I don’t care. But I’ll assume the role of clearinghouse to keep those who’re interested in the latest developments informed. Bloggers, the big boys and others, are covering post-debate polls and dissecting Kerry’s debate faux pas. (Some of these aren’t directly related to Kerry, but who cares?)

Ebonics In Anti-Bush Ads

October 4, 2004

OK. I admit it. When I’m around certain black people (family, certain friends) I sometimes speak “Ebonics.” Blacks in the audience know what I’m talking about. It’s natural. We all speak a different way in our comfort zones. As much as I don’t like to be lumped into a group, there are certain aspects of [...]

Journalist Responds

October 4, 2004

Chris Satullo, editorial page editor of the Philadelphia Inquirer and subject of this post, graciously responded to my criticism of his op-ed, even though I called him “pompous” and said his op-ed “reeks of arrogant, elitist, condescending denial.” He’s classy. I got up on Saturday morning surprised to see it, and I’m glad he came [...]

The Word Was God

October 3, 2004

New Christians and those seeking Christ are often instructed to read the Book of John, particularly the first chapter, before taking on the rest of the Bible. Among many other things, it declares that Jesus Christ is the Son of God who became flesh, and all who believe in him will be saved. John 1:1-18 [...]

Live-Blogging Rush Limbaugh

October 1, 2004

12:21 p.m. — Since I didn’t get into the debate hype last night, I’m live-blogging Rush, at least until my lunch hour is over at 1:00 p.m. He always makes me feel better. For instance, he said the Democrats are already putting together a video of Bush’s facial expressions, not his words. When the Republicans [...]

Bush 1, Kerry 0

October 1, 2004

Addendum: What’s going on? My fellow conservatives disagree with me? I still love them. Addendum II: I’m getting a mini “Bushalanche” from the good conservatives at Blogs for Bush. Addendum III: I’ve got some cool commenters, including the ones who don’t agree with me. Thanks for your participation! AmericanThinker-lanched? Nice **** There’s plenty of buzz [...]
