Yep.. We are all suckers for someone asking for forgiveness.. This man has proven himself he is not a moral compass and yet he is constantly touted as the “voice of the blacks”. I didn’t realize that blacks didn’t have a voice. Maybe I am being naive here but.. when you consider that blacks/hispanics can vote..

How can Blacks or Hispanics NOT have a voice? Making the assumption that they vote as a block.. That is a huge percentage. Combined its 1/4 of the population of this country.

I don’t see the problem actually requesting that people produce ID to vote. If you don’t drive then get an ID card. It seems a small price to pay for helping to ensure fair elections and that everyones vote counts.

Both sides have vigorous supporters who stretch the limits and even break them in trying to get their candidate elected.. that should mean all sides would want a method to show whos voting and that mickey mouse didn’t just vote for kerry.

I am very pleased to meetcha, not to mention, I’m intrigued because “lone, conservative, Christian Black female physician in the San Francisco Bay area” works for me. Oh yeah. You’re either my long lost twin sister or my soulmate (Did I just say soulmate? Geez!!….Slow down, son!! She might be be married, Dude.)

I can’t tell you how many times I’m subjected to the “Racist Democrats became the Republican party” line. Absolutely NOT TRUE.

That’s interesting because Jesse Helms was able to get elected to congress because he was outspoken about his opposition to civil rights. He became “famous” as a television commentator. There were people who did indeed switch parties.

And no one has ever said the south went Republican over night. But when Republicans, white and Black, have stated that the GOP played racial politics with The Southern Strategy, how in the world are Blacks believing a lie?

Oh, I get it! White Republicans are guilty white liberals while the Black Republicans are following Jesse Jackson!

Why, please tell me, would Dixiecrats leave the Democrats en masse and become Republicans? The south became solid Republican gradually, not overnight and certainly not as a result of the Civil Rights movement. I grew up in the south and I can attest to the generally positive sentiment about Jimmy Carter among whites at the time.

You hit the nail on the head, the old myth is that all of these racist Dixiecrats who were upset over Civil Rights and blacks left the party and went over to the Republicans. Well, how short is the memory of blacks. I don’t hear Julian Bond or Kwaise Mfume or any of the ‘Old Guard’ mentioning William Fulbright, Robert Byrd and yes, Al Gore, Sr. in this crowd. These men were staunch segregationists!

If the truth be known, blacks are known for their willingness to follow the masses on EMOTION alone. I once outlined to a young lady that Bush was planning to give a tax break to everyone who paid taxes in the form of $300 or $600 and she just flatly couldn’t agree with me. Her mind was brainwashed! Only time and alot of personal reflection will change this psychosis.

It has been 3 years since the 3 billion was allocated. Why are we having what seems to be even more problems. Voter registration so lose anyone can fake a non-existent, felon, or dead person onto the registration list.
No ID required at the voting stations to receive a ballot.
VERY expensive computer voting systems that provide no paper verification, 20 thousand absentee voter forms ‘lost’ in the mail….the list goes on.

How many believe another 3 billion would be enough for the government to solve the problem. I say the whole process needs to be contracted out to private enterprise, preferably non-unionized, with governmnent union workers relegated to a verifing process only, where they can’t do any more damage.

Anyone vote for the dancing candidates at miniclip? Bush was pimp walkin’ (The Money Walk, they called it). Pretty funny stuff!
