By quoting 1 Cor. 1:18-20, I did not intend to discourage learning. The point that I am trying to make is that the elitist, all-knowing, liberal Democrat machine is at a loss to understand how faith and sprituality played a decisive role in John Kerry’s defeat. They proudly present themselves as being “enlighten”, “in -touch”, “progressive” and “open-minded”. We are labled “bigoted” and “simple-minded” because we have rejected their failed ideaology like abortion on demand, athesim, nilism and race-based set asides to name a few. That is why we have reached a point now in this society where the killing of an animal is practically equivalent to the killing of a human being. Even less for the unborn.

They are blind guides because their wisdom is not tempered with the wisdom and knowledge of the word of God. They will continue to be “frustrated” until they truly listen to us simple-minded folks.

In a nutshell, Jim: In order to understand the things of God, one must see them through “spiritual eyes.” For instance, being convicted of sin is a work of the Holy Spirit – God. We may feel guilty about our sin, but to be truly repentent is to know how vile we really are and how helpless we are without saving grace. A heart that seeks after God is one that’s been touched by grace. Christians believe that understanding the spiritual meaning of the Bible is a work of God – the Holy Spirit.

To someone who is unsaved, talk of a “Holy Spirit” sounds like silly superstition. The message of Jesus Christ and him crucified is so much bunk to them. While they are dead in their sins, they are “perishing” because they’re still alive and but will one day face God’s judgment. In other words, the message of a Savior who died for our sins is foolishness to them.

As for the part about wisdom: It has nothing to do with keeping people uneducated. It’s about man’s pride. While he gets caught up in “vain philosophies” and “rational” arguments to try to disprove the existence of God (something he loves to do), or deceive and manipulate others, or rationalize his own sin or merely to explain the meaning of his own existence, he knows nothing apart from God. Instead of seeking after God, he seeks after his own glory. It is not human nature to submit in obedience to our Creator, so we invent our own morality and philosophies to live (rebel) by.

I may go into this in more detail tomorrow. It’s late right now and I think I’m rambling.

I have a Master’s degree, yet I am the simpleton because I voted for Bush. Yeah, right.

How about there are 59 million Americans who know what’s right and do not let terrorists scare them into cowering with fear. It’s like Bush said. You don’t just go along with a certain policy just because it’s popular in certain European capitals.

Your words “hating fundamentalist simpletons” makes me stay in physics and math. Michelle Malkin may be kind mother and Montgomery County housewife but her pen or word processor can be real cutting to liberals. Only 9% of DC voted for “W”. Before the Cheney family and Bush family came out on stage Dr. Rice stepped forward with little flag. The first secretary to be sworn in with left hand on Bible and right hand raised was Colin Powell with Alma holding the family Bible. She is 51% veto over his running for office. At $100,000.00 per speaking engagement he can make more money as private individual then as Secretary of State.Two writers before the election (including D.C. Thornton) mentioned Abraham Lincoln in the Civil War. He is technology coordinator who knows happens to know Lincoln. We have a very educated, as least in reading history, literate group on the Internet. The liberal media is mostly lies on politics. La Shawn, is your site becoming like Michelle Malkin’s in that DoS or denial of service mode around election time.

This morning on ABC News show “Good Morning America”, the first story addressed whether the issue of morals played a decisive role in the defeat of John Kerry. Paul Begala incisively commented that the Democratic party has presented themselves as being “intellecually” superior and the party needs to devise some strategy to reclaim the “spritual” component of their platform. While this is not a direct quote, he added, in liberal fashion, that they must help us “backward” conservatives appreciate the diversity of ideas and choices the rest of us make as well. I think the word of God answers this well
at 1 Corinthians 1:18-20

For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. For it is written:
“I will destroy the wisdom of the wise;
the intelligence of the intelligent I will
frustrate.”
Where is the wise man? Where is the scholar? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?

Hi Dominic!

You’re right about the gloating. Had Kerry won, they would have been merciless. I probably would’ve had to moderate comments 24 hours a day. I kept the blog “on” during election night because I knew they were just as preoccupied as we were. Had Kerry won, my comment policy would be very different.

I plan to blog about the moral issues in this election. The only ones shocked by the division are leftists.

Did I tell you lately how much I appreciate your reading my blog?
