Disclaimer: I don’t necessarily endorse the political opinions of all of these bloggers. In fact, I disagree with the views of a few, but I voted for them as “Best Blog” in their respective categories based on the work I’ve seen.
These are my blog endorsements. You’ll notice that I’ve skipped several categories because I voted for blogs only in categories I read. Here are my picks:
Best Overall Blog: Power Line — Not only did these three guys with day jobs perform splendidly during Rathergate, offering up-to-the-minute information, they answered their e-mail. Classy. As far as I’m concerned, Power Line is the best in the blogosphere.
Best New Blog (Est. 2004): INDC Journal — Another guy with a day job who did some of his own independent investigating during Rathergate, tracking down sources and doing interviews.
Best Group Blog: Blogs for Bush — My go-to blog during the election season.
Best Humor Blog: It was a tough call, but I chose Scrappleface, whose “press releases” always make me laugh. Editor Scott Ott offers clean, profanity-free humor. And he’s a Christian.
Best Liberal Blog: Every now and then I visit Talking Points Memo, but it didn’t make the list. I don’t usually read other liberal blogs, so in order to vote in this category I had to check out the nominees. I endorse Matthew Yglesias because he argues his points well and doesn’t seem to engage in partisan bickering. (The others don’t necessarily bicker. I just prefer Yglesias’s style.)
Best Conservative Blog: If I weren’t voting for myself
, Captain Ed would be my choice.
Best Election Coverage: This was a tough choice between Power Line and Blogs for Bush, but I selected B4B.
Best Media/Journalist Blog: This was no contest. Michelle Malkin all the way.
Best Blog Design: I picked my fabulous blog designer’s blog, Just a Girl.
Best of the Top 100 Blogs: Evangelical Outpost — Excellent Christian-themed essays.
Best of the Top 100-250 Blogs: Patterico’s Pontifications, which should be higher up in the ecosystem, did some great independent investigating during Rathergate. Several months ago, I chose this blog to participate in a project. I will reveal what that project was very soon.
Best of the Top 250-500 Blogs: I’m sure my blog friends in the category will forgive me, but I chose JustOneMinute, also a project participant.
Best of the Top 500-1000 Blogs: Oh, That Liberal Media is a great ensemble cast and excellent source for analysis of the latest media bias.
Best of the Top 1000 – 1750 Blogs: Legal XXX
Best of the Top 1750-2500: Shape of Days, also a project participant, should be much higher in the ecosystem. Bloggers, link to this blog!
Best of the Top 2500 – 3500 Blogs: I surprised myself by picking a moderate, The Moderate Voice.
Best of the Top 3500-5000: I picked my blog friend’s blog, The Boileryard.
Best of the Top 5000 – 6750 Blogs: Digital Brown-Pajamas, of course.
Best of the Top 6750+: Daily Inklings

Thanks for the public display of affection, La Shawn.
Well, despite your recommendation, I’m voting for you. I thought about spreading my vote around a bit, since we have to vote over several days, but I’m sticking with my original choices.

Woohoo! Thanks. I have accordingly thrown my CONSIDERABLE support in endorsing you. Prepare for some form of ‘lanche.
Oh WOW! Thank you so much for the endorsement, LaShawn! I’m honored!

Hey, I’m a Christian, too! I just believe in a kinder, gentler Jesus who’s hip to all my sinning.
And Ott may put up a squeaky-clean facade, but get a couple shots of Cuervo in him and he’ll swear your socks off. There’s still time to change your endorsement.
Don’t let Frank J. find out you’ve endorsed Scrappleface! He’s really competitive. He threatened to kidnap Jonah Goldberg’s dog, after all! (In jest, mind you, but still. Just saying.

One absolutely hilarious blog is The Iraq War Was Wrong, http://iraqwarwrong.blogspot.com, which is a parody of a half-literate anti-war blogger. Check out his post on his blogging inspirations: http://iraqwarwrong.blogspot.com/2004/08/my-taxomony.html Or his post on how we need “allies”: http://iraqwarwrong.blogspot.com/2004/10/need-allies.html Or his post on “sans France”: http://iraqwarwrong.blogspot.com/2004/08/sans-france.html Or the post on “war of choice”: http://iraqwarwrong.blogspot.com/2004/09/of-choice.html Or this one: http://iraqwarwrong.blogspot.com/2004/10/plan-im-for-it.html
Actually, read the entire archives. There’s so much hilarious stuff there that I can’t list it all.
Thank you, LaShawn – I voted for you too!
