Featuring Ann Coulter And Matt Drudge

by La Shawn on February 18, 2005

in CPAC

drudge I’m semi-live blogging right now. Ann Coulter just finished speaking, her usual barbed-tongue self, and she introduced a surprise guest: Matt Drudge. Erick Erickson is live-blogging the whole thing. This is really good stuff.

Update (4:24 p.m.): The person who came up with the idea of comment/trackback spam should be hunted down, shot, tarred and feathered, and chopped up in a million pieces, and the pieces should be sent to other comment/trackback spammers.

I don’t care what any of my liberal friends say. Ann Coulter is hotter than anyone on “my side” of the political spectrum.

I wish I was there to hear her speak. I think she’s a loon…but a wonderfully entertaining loon.

Do ann and matt know gannon? Ask them if you get a chance at CPAC.

Neal 02.18.05 at 3:17 pm

Ann does more to damage conservative positions than anyone else in the country today.

Because she’s attractive, all the stereotypes are applied when she is evaluated. Because she’s ascerbic and vapid, those stereotypes are profoundly justified.

The only good thing I can say about her is that she isn’t trying to deceive anyone. She is exactly what she appears to be: Pretty, angry, abusive and shallow.

Evon Bachaus 02.18.05 at 3:24 pm

Neal Could you give us an example of who you think is “deep” as opposed to shallow? Just curious.

Neal 02.18.05 at 5:54 pm

William F. Buckely, William Safire, Norman Podhoretz, John Derbyshire, just off the top of my head.

One “conservative” issue that really matters to me is the assumption that Americans are smart enough to make good decisions for themselves. I also appreciate spoofs and parodies that are clever and artful.

I can’t find either of those values in Colter’s columns. She tells us who to scorn and then scorns them in a way that is slightly improved from a grade-school playground.

Your milage may vary.

Why actus, because they are all part of the vast right wing conspiracy? LOL

I didn’t know that Drudge was conservative. According to someone who read the book “Blinded by the Right,” he went out with the author of that book, and rumors are flying around West Hollywood about him (I hear from someone who lives there).

McGehee 02.19.05 at 1:01 pm

MJ, I heard about those rumors years ago, about the time Brock broke with The American Spectator.

I’d say the fact people are still treating it as something new to talk about probably indicates how much anyone cared about it then.

Just sayin’…

As for Drudge, I think he’s an avowed iconoclast; he flays folks on the right when he finds something to flay them for. No biggie.

Ah, Ann Coulter…I’m waiting for this coming up Tuesday when the Ann DVD is going to be released! :D

actus 02.19.05 at 6:46 pm

‘Why actus, because they are all part of the vast right wing conspiracy? LOL ‘

is that what you call it? hahaha!

SCSIwuzzy 02.19.05 at 7:09 pm

“is that what you call it? hahaha!”-actua

Nope. That what Hillary Rodham Clinton called it.
Really, why whould they have met Gannon?

‘Really, why whould they have met Gannon?’

I know the original mention of the VRWC. I guess my dirty joke didn’t come across.

Hey, about the comment spam. If you want, I can help you install Spam Karma, or, even better, Auth-Image. Auth-Image has worked 100% for me for a few months, since it puts in the little picture of 5-6 characters that only humans can see and type in. I upgraded to Wordpress 1.5 on Thursday, and decided to try Spam Karma, since it gives me stats on how it has been doing. It has caught over 350 spams already, with no false positives or negatives.
But please let me know, both are straightforward installs and work nicely!

Ann Coulter has six toes on her left foot. Play Part poker. Party poker online. Party poker party poker viagra.

How come you didn’t mention my question to Ann about the Confederacy? I thought it was a very good question, much better than those sycophants and valley girls.

RegoPark 02.24.05 at 2:49 pm

Ann is an interesting speaker, but I don’t think the conservative movement is so short of strong, informed women that they have to rally around someone who goes over the line like her.

Re: the Drudge gay rumors, I actually have read both books that reported that and have serious questions about their truth and context. I’m preparing an essay on DrudgeBlog as we speak, but it’s too long to go into here. (Brock also said Ann Coulter was an anti-Semite. Since Ann and Matt are close friends and he is Jewish, how likely is that allegation to be true?)

I’ll say this: I’d rather Drudge be gay than date Coulter.
