CPAC: The Final Day

group Pictured are Kevin McCullough sitting alone on the left, and Bob Cox (involved in intense discussion) and New York Post writer and blogger Ryan Sager on the end.

This is the final day of CPAC. I’ve had a wonderful time here, and meeting the bloggers is the main reason I wanted to come. I’ve never been interested in attending before, mainly because I’m somewhat of a homebody and don’t like going to conferences that last several days. But meeting bloggers and networking with media types was enough to get me out of the house.

Zell Miller, John O’Neill and two other Swift Boat veterans spoke at last night’s banquet. Matt has the audio. Robin Burk took notes during the speeches. Read her post.

I forgot to mention the other bloggers here. It was truly a pleasure meeting “Athena” of Terrorism Unveiled. She has a real name but prefers to remain anonymous. Jim Gerghaty at Kerry Spot introduced himself yesterday. Mike Marshall of Pajamin Hadin is here, too.

Must-see item: Al Franken explodes!

I also met Ray Patnaude, an editor at Tech Central Station and Jonathan Garthwaite, editor of Townhall.com. Every writer should try to meet editors of publications they want to write for. You get to talk about article ideas, what the publication is looking for, what they have too much of, etc. Very valuable information.

Hugh Hewitt was supposed to be here, but I heard his doctor wouldn’t let him fly. We were all disappointed. I think most of us brought copies of BLOG for Hugh to sign, and there was a collective sigh when we heard the news.

I’ll update this post later. Thanks for reading and commenting on the CPAC posts. :)

I am glad you had a great time at CPAC but I will be glad when you return to your regular posts, too. :)

Al Franken exploded?

I guess that he didn’t have that conversion experience that I was hoping for.

Al Franken is making a lot of money being boring but liberal on his talk show. I tried to listen but the only day he got close to being interesting was when he tried to calm down all the “black helicopter” people who were sure Kerry really won Ohio. I’m not looking for him to convert any time soon. Follow the money. Anyhow, a Bush presidency is better for his radio show than a Kerry presidency would have been.

La Shawn….

I have enjoyed your updates and pictures. Putting faces with the names… What a thrill it must be to see many of the stars of the new media in one place…

I’m amused by people who accuse me of wanting to force my morality on them. There isn’t my morality or their morality. There is just morality.
Those people, however, do not think anything wrong with forcing me to subsidize immorality, eg. Disney paying benifits to people who are shacking up as though they are married.
The new saw (may I say that?) that you can’t legislate morality is wrong. Laws are the legislation of morality.
