Actus, You are missing the point. The decision makers who decided on the definitino of capitalism hit the nail on the head I believe and you are flat out mixing apples and oranges.

The economic system of capitalism is the people choosing who gets what resources.

You mix into it issues of governance. In this country we’ve tried to eliminate monopolies and other inequitable and unethical business practices because if one person or entity owns a town or service or good then there is a lack of competition and we all agree that the common good isn’t served.

While I appreciate your desire to look out for the common person, trust me the best economic system is capitalism. A nation will prosper with capitalism and not prosper given the government choosing who gets what resources.

It is up to us to make the right business rules, set the right amount of tax (so as to not punish to harshly success) and provide a safety net for those who are not able-bodied, and provide for a defense of this nation and justice system that is as fair as we can with our government but that doesn’t mean the defintion of capitalism is wrong. You’re off track. Face the facts sometimes…

In the the market, the decisionmakers are the controllers of wealth. With unequal power roughly in proportion to their wealth. Thats my point. I think you now you now get it.

In a democracy, where “people rule”, the egalitarian democratic idea is that everyone is a decisionmaker in equal proportion. This isn’t psychobabble. Its actually sometimes worth going to war over.

Actus, actually it is the market that allocates resources. How else would you explain the wealth behind chroniccandy or crack? Oh yeah, it’s a VRWC in conjunction with the CIA to steal from the black & poor.

Hmm, lessee what else? Oh yeah, George Soros controls wealth and now he owns the DNC.

What else? Soomeone must have been asleep at the gate when Micheal Jackson/Jordan, Magic, Coz and Oprah snuck thru to become some of the wealthiest entertainers.

In other words, here anyone can be wealthy with the right idea, perserverance and creativity and a customer base willing to shell out the $$.

In a socialist system, anyone with theright pedigree, degree or just flat out connections to the political power can be wealthy.

Its just that my problem with that description brings up egalitarian democratic ideals. I think its more accurate to say that wealth allocates reasources. And most of us are smart enough to know that that means those who control wealth.

Socialism is the government deciding who gets what resources.

This country is in between having the people choose with a little over 50% of the time and if you add up all state and federal expenditures the state choosing a little under 50% of the time.

Heritage.org does the annual economic freedom index and the United States dropped off of the list of the top 10 countries with the most economic freedom this year. Pretty sad. That spells downfall from my perspective.

I’m renting a trip from a-b, not making a decision between boeing, airbus, bombardier or embraer. Someone else makes that decision. With my money, if you wish.
