Kim at Musing Minds just e-mailed me: “Fox News just reported that the Judge has extended the stay for Terri until Friday, February 25th at 5 p.m.”
I hope my life never hinges on a judge’s whim.

One more day, and one more day
Judge George Greer has extended his stay of a court order blocking Michael Schiavo from pulling his wife’s feeding tube for another two days. So a one-day stay is followed…

That’s not necessarily good news. When the injunction expires at 5pm on Friday the courts won’t reopen until Monday morning. They can disconnect her and nobody can force them to reconnect her until after they file again Monday morning and a judge gets around to hearing the motion and ruling on it. It’s part of the judge’s dirty tricks book that is used all too often.

Could somebody elaborate on the circumstances of how Terry Schiavo was hurt so many years ago? I’ve always understood it to be a medical problem (heart attack?) but recent articles seem to suggest there was something more and something very wrong.

If this court-sanctioned murder proceeds, there should be a way to force her “husband” and Judge Greer to witness every moment of her agony. Execution by starvation….shame on all of us if it happens.

I’ve found a couple more posts from bloggers who have/had disabled children, where they compare their own situations with Terri Schiavo’s. Nothing speaks to this case better than the personal accounts of those who have been there.

How To Save Terry Schiavo’s Life
Clayton Cramer has figured it out:
Have the State of Florida convict her of a capital felony (”aggravated vegetativeness”); then the ACLU will file suit to keep her alive.
Meanwhile, the stay of execution has been extended until 5:00pm Frid…

Habeas Corpus for Terri Schiavo?
Concerning the Terri Schiavo case, much has been said about how Terri seems to have fewer rights than convicted (let alone accused) murderers on death row (examples here). If the Judge’s latest stay is lifted, Terri is due to be killed in a manner (s…
