The media will milk you as long as they can without paying. Writers should never allow that. Your 15 minutes of air time earned them as much as $250,000 in ad revenue. That's a lot. Don't know if the screen actor's guild covers commentators, but if it does the appearance fees have an automatic minium, which I'm assuming you didn't get -- but the other commentators might have got.
