When video blogger Trey “Action” Jackson e-mailed and said my blog was mentioned on CNN yesterday, I had to see/hear it to believe it. In Howard Kurtz’s segment on bloggers and the Federal Election Commission, he quoted Ed Morrissey (Captain’s Quarters) and me on the effect of federal regulations on blogs. From Liberal and Conservative Bloggers United:
“The one thing uniting liberal and conservative bloggers is a threat to our First Amendment rights.”
They made an excellent choice. Now I’m waiting for the cable network to call me for a guest spot. I know we conservatives refer to it as the Clinton News Network, the Communist News Network, and a few unmentionables, but appearing on one of their shows would be a major boost.
Speaking of which, events are rapidly unfolding in my world. I can’t tell you about them yet, but I may be in a better position to divulge details next week. I owe my raised profile in large part to blogger and writer Jeff Jarvis (He’s not even a conservative!), who has cited this blog at least twice on MSNBC. I like the way he says “La Shawn Barber dot com.”
Without readers, I’d have no profile at all.
Update: Instead of blogging the “State of the Black Union,” I’m writing an op-ed. I’ll let you know if/when/where it appears.
