Whether you blog or not, please sign the bipartisan Online Coalition’s petition letter to Federal Election Commission Chairman Scott E. Thomas.
For background information on this issue, see this post from last week, Liberal and Conservative Bloggers United.
CNN ran a story on the possible regulation of political activity on the Internet, and my blog was one of several featured in the segment.
If you’re blogging about this assault on our First Amendment rights, please trackback to this post, and I’ll include your link in the round-up.

Thank you for all the information. I signed the petition, and have directed my visitors to come here and read about the details.
Signed it and sent copies to my kids asking them to do the same and if they agree get their friends to sign. Govt is already to big to be effective. We need less not more. I get off my soap box and thank you.
Done, and emailed to all friends with websites/blogs.
Signed it, and posted a call for more signatures on Electric Minds: http://www.electricminds.org/venice/go/minds!Altered.38.691
Dutifully signed and now waiting for Big Brother to eat me. But it will be worth it.
I was the 195th person to sign the letter.
At the time of this post, there are 1,277 signers.
I’m #401.
Correction: There are 1,277 signers not including the original 22 signers, Michelle Malkin being one of the original signers. I’m the 195th of the additional 1,277.

Thanks La Shawn for your initial post “Liberal and Conservative Bloggers United.”
The list sure is growing (I’m # 1429)…I first linked to the Opinion Coalition on Captain Ed’s site. However, it was you who got me reading on this topic last week.
As you know, this is my first blogswarm and I sure was busy this week. Thanks for blazing the trail.

Thanks, beautiful.
I’ve been busy with the Nichols manhunt down here, but count me in!
What’s interesting about this and why it is so important for all of us to get involved (regardless of what we believe is) this country was founded on the principle of “by the people, for the people”. For far to many years we have allowed the rich and powerful, the media, hollywood, etc., etc. to put the word out to all as to what we think, want we feel, and what we want. The internet and especially the power of the blog has changed that and truelly put the “voice of the people”, and getting the peoples views (all people,)into the hand of the people again.
It will be interesting to see how the “powers” that be handle this. Will they show to be “for the people”?
Oh,for crying out loud. They will regulate political activity on the net, but not porn or child predators. What is this world coming to?
