Yes ma’am
…Interesting, that I didn’t attack you or use foul language. I only posed some questions. And yet, you deleted my comment.
Your comment wasn’t deleted. It was held up in the comment moderation queue. “Interesting” how you jump to conclusions. And you need to re-read that big, bold rule. I may delete for ANY REASON, not just personal attacks or foul language. – Admin
Great job… Can I save myself some typing and use them for my blog as well? Once again you are a great role model and representative of all that is right and good in the blogosphere…
Fair enough! *bowing and gesticulating respectfully*
“Attack the argument, not the person.”
THAT one would solve so many disputes and probably lead to issues actually being resolved!
Just pray! Prayer is the only way to resolution of this case and others like it that did not for some reason garner national nor world headlines.
The side of the issue you and I have chosen never did, does not now and never will matter.
GOD WILL render a just solution that transcends what us fallible humans think is right. HIS decision is THE one I WILL live with as correct and final.
As one can plainly see, we are all of differing opinions on this case as we are on many other difficult cases. This is why we have checks and balances in our government structure.
Not perfect, but it is what we have to live with for now.
NO ONE is right and NO ONE is wrong. GOD decides.
Period.
One way or the other, Terri will be alright as will the Schindlers, Michael and the nation.
On a general note, FOX News is going overboard with the sad dirge music “Terri Schaivo Updates.â€
They are seriously compromising their famous “fair and balanced†trade mark in my opinion.
There is a silver lining to all of this.
No one has been put in jail for having a differing opinion on this case……yet
Raymond, I consolidated your four entries into one. Please think about what you want to write before you hit “Say it” so you won’t have multiple posts back to back. And please keep your comments on-topic. –
I hear you, La Shawn…thanks for the reminder.
It wasn’t directed at you in particular, Stan.
I was prompted to update because a very immature boy who claims to be a first year law student (at Penn) is obsessed with this blog, among other reasons.
Although your posts are the main reason I read this blog, the comments add a lot. Thanks for taking the time to police them. I dread the day that you will be too busy to ride herd on the commenters.
“Attack the argument, not the person.”
I agree with this 100%…I have posted on here many times and individuals who responded responded only with cutesy remarks toward me or people who shared that position as opposed to the actual content…
Let me ask you this LaShawn, why does it offend you so much to be called a “puppet”? Just a personal question because I know many conservatives here who get very offended by it as well…
Why don’t you tell me why a person would be offended by the label “puppet.” Just take a few guesses, Hirez, and use some common sense. – Admin
Darned ‘First years”, give em’ a Con Law 1 book and now they want to challenge every non-lawyer and their mother.
There should be a rule, like in Harry Potter, that says you cannot use your fledgling leagal education to impress people.
Lashawn, take note, he’ll get his just desserts once he begins practice. Then we’ll see how much he likes to debate.
I know it wasn’t La Shawn but I appreciate the reminder anyway. I like to error on the side of Christian grace, etc. but I don’t know how you do what you do or why people take advantage of you. Actually, I do know. They’re sinful morons! For the most part, folks on your blog are given quite a bit of latitude, which is why its increasing in popularity. I’ve checked out a few of the blogs on your special list and nothing’s really going on. You’ve been raised up…
read and understood ….
I apologize that people are giving you a hard time. I don’t agree with you sometimes, but my Mom raised me right.
Keep up the good work, Your highness
Monika
Gotta love these people who think their free speech rights include getting on somebody’s case about their right to speak about any issue.
Since I’m teaching the Enlightenment right now:
Shall we call you an enlightened despot?

Does this mean for example: On a thread about square tomatoes, I shouldn’t post a comment that says, “Hey everyone, here’s a news article about the best square tomatoes! http://www.tomahtozz.com” –
Or does it mean something else? Just checking.
Long live the Queen.
Thanks for the comments, everyone!
FL Mom – Hyperlinking has been disabled, but posting a link is OK.
You have the right to do whatever you want. It’s your blog–this isn’t a message board run by a variety of people.
You are right, of course, that you have the final decision as to what remains undeleted in the comments (although I don’t think the First Amendment is where this right originates, since none of the individuals complaining — I’m assuming you have received other complaints in addition to mine — are state actors). However, when you invite debate on a subject, I would hope that you would not delete comments just because they disagree with your agenda, although I concede that it is your right as the creater of this domain to do just that if you choose.
LaShawn, love your blog. Keep up your great work.
To everyone, make sure to mock and ridicule liberalism. Remember, liberalism brought us Ward Churchill, someone in need of being ridiculed.
I invoke the FA because it protects my right to blog, but it doesn’t protect your right to comment on my blog. No one has such rights on someone else’s blog. Referring to the FA is most appropriate.
I am free to allow or disallow whatever comments I want. The only rules on this blog are the ones I set forth. A comment-enabled blog invites “debate” (This is not what people do on a blog, by the way. I know a few people would like to think so, but debates involve time rules, real arguments, rebuttals, etc.) inasmuch as the host/hostess allows. They are not under any written or unwritten obligation to hear from anybody on any issue. And if someone disagrees with my “agenda,” depending on how polite or sarcastic they are, I just might delete the comment.
It all comes down to what I want to do. That’s the beauty of it. This is why I encourage people to start their own blogs. If I delete your comment, you can go back to your blog and complain about it.
One of the things bothering more and more lately is people who really believe they have a right to say whatever they want to or about me. On my own site. They tell me how to run this blog, what to write and how to write, as if their opinion is actually important to me.
Anyway, there’s no need to dissect or analyze the post, D.S. Just follow the advice or don’t.
Long live the Queen.
Actually your highness, the First Amendment does not protect your blog. It precludes Congress from interfering with it. That is unless they call if ‘campaign finance reform.’ Then you no longer have freedom of speech.
No La Shawn what protects your blog is personal property rights. It is your blog and you have the right to do anything you desire, not in violation of host service argreement, on your blog.
It your on line Kingdom and a wonderful one it is.
Long live the patient queen. The FA does protect my right to blog. I am exercising my freedom of speech through this web site. Personal property rights are also relevant, but I much prefer invoking the FA.
My Queen, keep up the wonderful work you do. God bless you.
“a very immature boy who claims to be a first year law student (at Penn) is obsessed with this blog”
You have had the patience of Job La Shawn. It was time.
“You have had the patience of Job La Shawn. It was time.”
Amen.
“I invoke the FA because it protects my right to blog, but it doesn’t protect your right to comment on my blog. No one has such rights on someone else’s blog. Referring to the FA is most appropriate.”
Well, this applies outside the blogsphere as well. I don’t subscribe to expletives in public (and should not use them in private!) but if I choose to express my distaste for a lifestyle, an opinion or a person, no one should be able to tell me to stop (let alone prosecute me for it! ie, Philidelphia and the Christians preaching against Homosexuality).
Seems to Liberals, tolerance actually means accepting something. That’s not tolerance..Tolerance is putting up with something I don’t like. Not accepting it.
But aside from that …LaShawn, this IS your blog, and YOU decide what is on it and what isn’t. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!
Dan
La Shawn,
I enjoy your post and read it daily. keep up the great work and stay true to your beliefs, you’re on the up and up. tragic that a simple mind has to harass the site and other posters, but hey . . . you have a gift for cutting them off at the kness so nicely and professionally. Give ‘em heck girl!
viva la queen!

Tolerance
To accept as equally valid any ideas. There is no objective standard for “right” or “wrong”. There is no heirarchy of ideas. And if you think any different, you are wrong!
Pat’s Rick,
care to expand on that one? What does that have to have to do with people posting improprieties? According to your definition, there should be no laws, rights, property, ownership, etc. Am I reading your post wrong?
Pat’s Rick
I read you post several times trying to understand.
I can only assume that it was intended as an example of Earth humor
?
WNM and Michael-
Let me get my tongue out of my cheek so I can speak clearly. Tolerance, when I grew up, meant simply putting up sith something you didn’t like. Maybe even making accomodations for something that you determined to be wrong, but were willing to overlook. That is not the current definition of tolerance. The current definition is pretty much what I said, except for that last sentence. That part is never formally spoken, but is how the “tolerance” crowd works. It is “intolerant” to think that there is some objective moral order. It is “intolerant” to think that some lifestyles are “better” than others. They just won’t tolerate such intolerance! (sorry – that darned tongue again).
gotcha,
i didn’t know for sure, but asked my question in case it was “tongue-in-cheek”.
good point about “tolerance”, Pat’s Rick.
“tolerance” does not automatically equal “acceptance”. There’s an awful lot out there that I have to tolerate, but that I’ll NEVER accept.
Keep up the good work, La Shawn. I love your blog!
blessings,
Ernest
That’s pretty much what I thought you intended.
But you can never tell these days.
I would go one step further and say that without the much despised concept of “absolute or universal” morality, tolerance is impossible.
Oh gosh, whilst I am using your space, I really appreciate your blog La Shawn. I really appreciate you work.
La Shawn,
This is why I love your blog, and like using the comments section. Trolls are quickly dispensed with, and civil discourse reigns!
LaShawn, none of what you ask is unreasonable in the slightest degree. Not being nasty to other commenters and backing up claims of fact with proper source links are things about which people should not need to be reminded.
One question arises. Does it cause you concern that I use an alias? I do so partly by habit and partly for privacy. But my e-mail is real, and you know my IPs are real, so I hope it’s not a problem. I’d really hate for anyone to find out that I’m really Tom Selleck. Ooooops…….
