Re Minuteman -
On Larry Elderâ€™s show last night Larry said that the minutemen had reduced criminal immigration by 75%!. Or the rate of criminals crossing the border was only 25% of what it had been before the Minuteman Project! Sounds very positive!

La Shawn, LBC is a moderately personal blog. I read plenty less personal and plenty more personal. LBC is in no way extreme.

Then it is your blog, and blog as you see fit. Your readers will of course read as they see fit. A free market of ideas.

Hi La Shawn. I read your blog daily. I read it because of you, your perspective and the way you blend personal experience with the commentary. Simply stay true to yourself and do it your way.

To the folks who seem to always want to tell us what they think we should do or be should simply work harder at being what they want to be. It is hard work doing what you do. It is so easy to criticize and devalue.

Keep it up La Shawn, your voice is getting stronger and that brings out the trolls. One of the negatives about the anonymous commenter is they have no soul, no shadow, no voice. Shame.

It really is bizarre to read comments on this blog from people determined to tell La Shawn how to run the place. I suppose a lot of it relates to some people having way too much time on their hands, often combined with a social interaction disorder. I wonder if those folks would presume to walk into La Shawn’s living room and immediately start rearranging her furniture.

As for me, I’d like to think I have mastered the common sense art of staying away from places I don’t like. There’s a saloon down the road that I peeked into once. The place was like Bob’s Country Bunker from The Blues Brothers, so I haven’t been back. I can only imagine the reaction I’d get by going back in there and suggesting that they switch the juke box to Barry Manilow and Michael Bolton tunes.

La Shawn, just continue doing what you want to do. It’s your house.

Two of the requirements for friendship are trust and transparency. You draw the first and seem to be the second.

Trust is based on Truth. Not relative-to-what truth, but I-can-trust-you truth. I get that kind of vibe from you via your writings. So I trust you.

Transparency… Well, you say, clearly, what you think and put forth, without apology, your values. That is risky as you well know. But it provides the transparency needed for friendship.

So friend, I wish circumstances were such that it were not so one-sided.

I was disappointed to not be able to comment on her most recent post, so I linked up to it and anyone is welcome to comment over there. I was moved by her description of what happened via email after her post on the Pope’s death. As far as this topic, don’t listen to the naysayers. My three favorite women in this world are my wife, Michelle Malkin, LaShawn Barber, not necessarily always in that order.

We have no control over anything in life except the way in which we react to the world around us. You and Michelle (and some others) exhibit that character trait and that is why I read you regularly (and also why I listen to my wife). You tough it out through the attacks and remain unaffected by the praise. What remains is your well-articulated, unashamed, this-is-my-opinion-right-or-wrong, and that is what we seek.
