I’m not necessarily a new blogger – I started in August 2004 – but I can’t seem to get the traffic and comments that others do, so I still consider myself new!

I’m a microbiologist and I’m going to medical school in the fall, and I talk about a lot of pop culture stuff, some politics, some Christianity/apologetics/ethics stuff, FamilEEEEEEEE! Guy, my wee lil’ critters, and clogging.

Thanks for inviting comments from new(ish) bloggers, and thanks for the great posts! (I love your firm stand for Christ as well!) If you have time to swing by my blog, that would be really great. And if you have time to tell me something that is horrendous and should be changed (about my blog, I mean – otherwise you’d have to say Scott Savol’s continued presence on American Idol) then that would be even better. Hi Karen – in order to do a trackback, your software has to provide the option. My understanding is that some don’t yet. I tried to trackback to a Blogger post once and it didn’t work. But a lot of the others do.

If you use MT, here’s how:
First, go to LaShawn’s post and hit the “permalink” and scroll down. You are looking for something that says “trackback url.” It’s the computer’s “address” for LaShawn’s post. This is it for this post:

http://lashawnbarber.com/archives/2005/04/28/new-2/

Copy it. Then go back to your site and compose your post. There is a place at the bottom right labeled “URL’s to Ping” — paste LaShawn’s trackback URL there. Then, (hopefully!) when you publish, the software automatically takes an excerpt of what you’ve written and posts it here, linking everyone up.

There is a shorter “quickpost” way to do this in MT, but if you are using different software, it will probably be something very similar to what I’ve just described.
