You may recall that a Boston radio station was planning to remove “Newsweek on Air” from its line-up but decided to do it sooner than planned because of the magazine’s outlandish “reporting.” Pundit Review says the station is replacing the show with one that promotes bloggers.

I like it.

  5. La Shawn:

Newsweek was getting a free ride for their past incompetence, but the most recent episode is somewhat like John Kerry playing soldier during the election.

When you go “over the line”, people begin looking at your dirty laundry. Ann Coulter today aired Michael Isakoff’s dirty laundry - deliberately not printing stories unfavorable to Bill Clinton, leaving room for Matt Drudge to fill the gap.

Newsweek and all the Leftists supporting him deserve to be put in the dust bin of history - by reduced sales.

  6. John Kerry did not “play soldier” in the 2004 campaign. However, he was a real soldier, who volunteered (he wasn’t drafted) to serve in Viet Nam, and he served there with distinction. He risked his own life to rescue a fellow soldier under fire. In the 2004 election campaign, a group with ties to Karl Rove, dubbing itself “Swift Boat Veterans for Truth,” made up lies about this episode. These lies have been thoroughly discredited.

I anticipate messages here in support of the Swift Boat Liars. I shall not bother to reply; there would be no point, since supporters of the Swift Boat Liars won’t believe anything I say anyway.

  7. La Shawn:

Most people have probably already seen this, but here it is just in case:

    http://www.washtimes.com/national/inpolitics.htm

Newsweek, Jason Eason and CNN, The Boston Globe and the fake GI rape photos, and now Linda Foley and the Newspaper Guild. The MSM is burning up with macabre hatred of the men and women who serve in our military.

  9. Anom, thanks for confirming that you didn’t inhale, rather you guzzled that batch of koolaid :)

I’ve seen the laughable rebuttals to the usual claims. I’ve yet to hear a rebuttal to the following:
Kerry volunteered for the reserves so as to control his fate as best can as opposed to being just a number in the sweepstakes. No fault there, even GWB did the same, as did yours truly, to “have my cake and eat it” if you will.

Unfortunately, the naval unit that sKerry was assured would never deploy, did.

And the unit that GW anticipated joining in Nam, got recalled as their equipment (fighter/interceptor) didn’t fit the Nam profile, which called for ground attackers and bombers. (Go ahead, make my day 8) )

Nevertheless, Bush probably engaged more of the enemy and more often. Not pajama-clad insurgents, indistinguishable from pajama-clad mothers, rather a sophisticated game of chicken against some of the USSR’s best steely-nerved flight crews assigned to test and check US air defenses right inside the Gulf of Mexico. Talk about triggering WWIII in a blink.

As for your statement that he was a real soldier, is that you talking as one soldier to another? If so, you got played and a solid majority ain’t buying that line.

Or are you repeating that MSM/DNC talking point because one of your firends was a soldier? A la one of my friends is black — and ∴ by osmosis, I’m an expert on the subject.

I’d be more interested in the social behaviors of extinct fishes and the juxtaposition of fossilized political hacks — know what I mean, Vern?

  10. If the Swifties told lies, why? Why did over 250 veterans of Swift Boats, including every officer Kerry served under, state that they believed he was unfit to be president? If Kerry was a model military man, why does he still refuse, to this day, to release his full military records?

  11. Kerry will never release an undeleted form 180. If all of his records become public knowledge, kerry is sunk, just like the USS America.
