But Dan!! Doncha see? One can honestly state with a straight face that GWB was crappy, so long as they never offer a counterplan, they can always move the goalposts. ;)

The best crappy example would be the MSM/DNC solemnly warning us of total anarchy on 30 Jan 05. Instead, a majority of eligible voters turned out to say YES to democracy, no matter how bumpy it may get and to say NO to another strongman.

A total opposite of their nuanced prophecies. So instead of taking their lumps like a good loser, they say, oh but it's still crappy because we also flush the koran which is THE nail that will seal our loss. Next month, it'll be some new Bush=Hitler meme which will finally do Bush in.

Oliver made me think of people who make the same-old New Year resolutions, without plan nor commitment, year after year to no avail. If change ain't happening as wished, then it's time to re-evaluate the rituals. Instead, these people click their shoes twice, repeat their irrational mantras over and over in hopes that one of these years, '<em>Zippedly-zappedly-dabbidy-do</em>', the fairy godmother grants their wish.

Hint: when you find yourself on the wrong side of history time and time again, maybe it's time to evaluate your worldview. I'd rather take my lumps for being wrong than risk being dragged into the state of delusional paranoia by refusing to let go of the party line.

Witness the Dean Meltdown. Again!!! Was that the 49th or 81st? I lost count after 3 and that was back in '03.

If you praised Dean as savior of the DNC, then I'd say your faith was misplaced. Will you blog about Dean needing to go for the good of the party prior to his removal? Or will you blog about how Rove did Dean in after he's gone?

How about some truths here? Wisdom isn't hard to find: <em>Wisdom crieth without; she uttereth her voice in the streets</em>.

Oliver,

GW is crappy at fighting terrorism?? BAWAHHAHAHAH!

Yeah, right. The way the left would try it is called "The Neville Chamberlain Accords". Signed papers arranging appeasement for the terrorists and leaving them free to continue what they're doing. "Peace in our time" my....

Oliver, please start reading history. Appeasement only begets more violence. You HAVE to cut the head off the snake to end the bites.

Deal with it, or go over and talk nice nice to them and see if you don't end up beheaded.

La Shawn, I saw Sith today and wrote a blog about what I thought about it. I really did enjoy the movie. Hubby thought it was the best one of the six.

I saw Star Wars Revenge of the Sith last night with a group of friends and we all agreed it was really, really bad!!! (I never thought I would be bored in a Star Wars movie.) The writing is terrible, most of the characters are terrible, and much of the acting is terrible! I never believed the love story or the friendship between Obi Wan and Ani at all. (In any of the last three movies.) And really pathetic was the reason Ani turned to the dark side.

The greatness of the first movie, which spilled over to some degree to the next two, was in the story, the writing, the characters, and in the first movie - the acting. At least the interaction between the characters was believable and well-done.

Samuel L. was good and Yoda was great to watch - but when the best acting is done by a computer generated being there is a problem with the movie. I wonder the George Lukas, not to mention most of the cast, isn't embarrassed to be a part of this movie.

Blessings,

La Shawn:

I will take up your invitation on Friday Open Thread. Here is an issue you probably have never blogged on - college baseball.

We attended the last Texas A&M home baseball game for this season between the Aggies and the University of Texas Longhorns. The Texas A&M-tsip rivalry makes the Bush-Kerry election look like a love fest by comparison. A&M won in the 10 inning on a wild pitch by the tsip pitcher.

The game was very emotional, but the best moments that night had nothing to do with baseball. After the singing of the national anthem, there was a flyover by two Navy fighter jets. It turns out that one of the pilots is the older brother of one of the A&M players.

Later, both pilots came to the game and were given a standing ovation by fans from both universities. Everywhere the two pilots went that night they were greeted with enthusiasm, emotion, and sincere appreciation.

Some things transcend politics. Some things even transcend baseball!

Star WarsROTS isn't as bad as some make it. It does have its moments. I have a list of observations at my blog, http://badhairblog.blogspot.com/2005/05/few-observations-on-revenge-of-sith.html, since to me it was interesting enough to write about, but not enough for an actual review.

Do bear in mind, it's not a movie for young children.

Keep waiting Baklava. :)
Heres something interesting. Google La Shawn. Notice where in the results you find her blog, and when you find links critical of her. Now repeat for Odub. The results are interesting. No matter how you spell LB (La Shawn or Lashawn) ;)

Hi Ms. Barber. I met you at the World Journalism Institue and decided to create my own blog. I invite you and anyone else to visit, matthew1236.blogspot.com and read my opinions. My first topic, how christianity and conservative politics aren't always synonymous with each other. I mention you. Hope to read you there! and thanks for inviting me into the blogosphere.

Hey everyone, I predicted it. Another accusation and Oliver followed through.

No Oliver, I asked you to apologize for using Hitler's name's in the 2003 writings that you wrote that I posted. We're waiting.........

I just got back from watching ROTS with the family. I liked it, but I still prefer Star Trek. I promised my son 3 weeks ago I would take him to see it. Poor thing fell asleep and missed the last 45 min. He looked comfy though. And I know I will buy the DVD when it comes out. Now I suppose I will have to watch the original ones again. Didn't see them when I was a kid. Watched the original Star Wars in the early 90's. Thought it sucked. ;-)

ROTS: Just saw it. From a WOW, action and FX standpoint, it is the best of the trilogy. From a dialogue standpoint, it beats out I and II, but not Empire. From the immature politics/dummywood POV, it is better than I and VI, maybe a bit worse than II, and below IV and V. But worth seeing, and I admit I will own it on DVD. I will say this, when Vader gets in the armor and steps forward... the scene is over the top cheese.
For Olliver's site... you'll see the words nazi and Hitler alot, but streaming off of his keyboard. You'll also see the word racist alot.
Ohhhh Yeahhhhhh.

A couple of things I want to share:
(Thanks for the option.)

How do you proclaim the truth of Christ in a country that's 99% Muslim? Come with Keith Smith, an African missionary, as he shares Jesus in the Mosque.

http://texlex.typepad.com/just_keep_swimming_just_k/2005/05/jesus_in_the_mo.html

On the ligther side, whiteboydj.com has a hilarious Christian parody of the Sir Mix a Lot song "Baby Got Back" called "Baby Got Book".

Take a few minutes to check out the video.

Thanks, La Shawn.

BTW, we're going to ROTS tonight, dh for the 2nd time today. He likes it and is even more stoked about the upcoming Narnia movie, says it's annointed.
