Update (7/23): According to the AP, the British police shot the wrong man. But they had the right idea. Unfortunately, terrorist sympathizers will use this incident to spew forth new PC “arguments” about why we shouldn’t use racial/religious profiling to stop Islamofascists.

I’m angry that they only got 5 rounds into him? what type of weapon were they firing? All of the cops they are showing on the news had HK MP5. You would think that if that fool had a bomb strapped to him, they would have emptied a clip in him.

None of the london attackers, at least two weeks ago, were arabic. They were jamaican and south asian. It is a poor reflection on the tactic of “profiling” when its proponents seem to not know what to profile.

The deliberate split-second action tells me the bobbies were briefed (by Israeli LE?) beforehand to kill, not restrain and remove all doubt first when dealing with a suspected bomber. Very GOOD!
What about our LEs? What would they do in this scenario? Would they try to cuff em first? The first time perhaps, but rest assured it won’t happen again after a cop gets blown away trying to detain a bomber.

On the contrary, the majority opinion of police officers of all ranks, and the majority of public opinion, remains against the routine arming of the police in Britain.
When our levels of violent and gun-related crime approach those in the US we might be ready to take lessons from across the Atlantic. That won’t be for a while yet, if ever, thanks.
Don’t thank anyone yet, Richard. As Islamofascists continue to bomb Britain at will, the people just may become fed up enough to demand the right to protect themselves. I thank God I don’t live anywhere but the U.S., despite all its problems. The Telegraph reports that British Muslims are protesting the shooting of an apparent terrorist who tried to board a London subway:
Muslim leaders have called on the police to explain why an Asian man was shot dead at Stockwell station.
The Muslim Council of Britain said Muslims were concerned there was a “shoot to kill” policy in operation.
A spokesman said Muslims he had spoken to this morning were “jumpy and nervous”.
Yes, well, they’re not the only ones. Apparently lots of London Muslims think it’s odd that people are looking at them funny:
[A spokesman for the Council] said in the current atmosphere Muslims were very afraid and other people were looking at them in a very suspicious manner.
Gosh, why would that be? Maybe I’m being unfair here, but it seems to me that a great many Muslims are refusing to face reality. For their sake as well as everyone else’s, they need to get serious about helping the authorities root out terrorism, in England and elsewhere.
