Challenge to Jane Fonda

by La Shawn on July 25, 2005

in Liberals

JFI dare you to go to Iraq, pose for pictures with Islamofascists, and trash your country.

Fonda may be an old fool (I’m just guessing), but she’s wise enough to know a trip to an Islamofascist camp may be hazardous to her presently-attached head.

I’ll buy her plaine ticket if she agrees… 1st Class.

Mwalimu Daudi 07.25.05 at 1:17 pm

I don’t know, La Shawn. Jane Fonda is not the sharpest knife in the drawer. I think she might actually be dumb enough to do it.

Lyn 07.25.05 at 1:24 pm

This is funny but truthful and works on a broader level than just Ms. Fonda. So many people are quick to criticize our government and our foreign affairs policies, but to actually travel to another country, embrace another culture and then repudiate our nation is another matter.

Part of freedom of speech is the ability to openly criticize, but this should be offered with respect and with positive, constructive intent.

I believe that our war on terror has been clumsy so far, but I am at a loss to come up with a better plan. Our armchair quarterbacks should consider a more expatriate extreme and then think about the big picture.

Renee (the Orignal) 07.25.05 at 1:39 pm

Maybe we can send the LT Giv of PA with Jane on her trip. Did you hear about the stunt she pulled at a marines funeral? I think Michelle Malkin has a write up on from Saturday (or maybe Friday).

http://www.cnn.com/2005/US/07/25/funeral.apology.ap/index.html

Renee (the Orignal) 07.25.05 at 1:40 pm

I meant LT Governor (my keyborad sticks:-))

RedBeard 07.25.05 at 1:45 pm

I’m actually glad the smarmy old reprobate is going on this tour. With her posing alongside the Soros/Moore lunatics, the left will look even more ridiculous, out of touch and irrelevant.

Independent 07.25.05 at 1:49 pm

Why was Jane Fonda not locked in a prison as a traitor to her country? She conspired with the enemy during a time of war. What law protected her? I’m really curious. Does anyone know what loophole she jumped through? I want to know so that we can fight to close that loophole. A great many traitors are jumping through it now and it is getting wider everyday.

Fred 07.25.05 at 1:51 pm

I reckon that Christianity stuff she claimed to have embraced a few years ago didn’t stick.
Strike this up to another squishy, evangelifish gospel presentation.

Red,

I agree. She’ll illustrate just who and what the lefties/moonbats represent.

Andy 07.25.05 at 2:52 pm

What was it that John Wayne once said about her exploits in Nam? “A little mixed-up girl”? Well, she’s a mixed-up old fool.

Fred, that “born-again’ schtick was just to get the evangelicals to breakdown and buy a book or two.

John 07.25.05 at 3:50 pm

There’s no fool like an old fool. Hanoi didn’t learn when her career was sidetracked. She didn’t learn when she was booed and jeered at public appearances. She didn’t learn even after she was pressured to apologize to Vietnam vets for her outrages. And she won’t learn after her ‘tour’ fails miserably.

Read my article at http://thirtysecondthoughts.blogspot.com/2005/07/no-fool-like-old-foolthe-jane-fonda.html.

Here’s to Jane getting stranded in Death Valley when they run out of veggie oil (veggies raised by smog inducing electricity/petroleum-powered tractors and watered by diverted/subsidized irrigation no doubt) and what remains in the tank turns rancid and gets past the AC filters.

But that’ll never happen, cause they’ll use regular diesel when they think no one’s looking ;)

Gary 07.25.05 at 6:06 pm

During an interview about her latest book, Jane basically said she didn’t have a brain in her head and often took on the opinions of others…even to the point of trading her own self worth for the will of her perverse husband.

So why on earth does anyone take this woman’s ideas seriously?

Only in Hollywood does being a traitor a generation ago lend credability to a political view.

Raymond 07.25.05 at 6:09 pm

#17 As Gary describes Kerry. LOL!!!

Mike 07.25.05 at 6:38 pm

Fonda exemplifies one of the clear delineations between “liberals” and “conservatives,” which is the ability (or lack thereof) to separate a nation’s culture from the evil, despotic policies of its leadership.

I love Vietnamese beef noodle soup and I appreciate the rich cultural heritage that the Vietnamese have brought to the US. But I still recognize Ho Chi Mihn as an evil man who was responsible for the death and suffering of millions of his own people, irregardless of how “wonderful” the rest of those people might have been.

Too many liberals still focus on Iraq as “the cradle of civilization” and swoon over the vast cultural richness of Bagdhad (remember the furor over the “ransacking” of the national museum?) while trying to suppress the evil of Saddam Hussein or al Qaeda terrorists. And just like 35 years ago, they don’t understand that the terrorists should be distinguished – and purged – from the innocent civilians in their midst.

JannyMae 07.25.05 at 8:13 pm

Jane, dear, let me get this straight? You mean you WANT to look like a laughingstock?

Apparently so!

I can not even begin to express my disgust for this woman and her actions, both past and present. She must be bored.

Independent 07.25.05 at 8:28 pm

Again, why is this women walking around enjoying freedom as if she is not a traitor?

Lisa Gilliam 07.25.05 at 10:13 pm

First of all stop calling this nitwit a “Liberal” aint nothing liberal about her and the rest of moonbat central. She is a opportunistic whore, morally depraved piece of vermin.A card carrying member of the fifth column hate America crowd who hasn’t learned anything in the past 40 years. It would be great if she went to Iraq namely Fallujah and Mosul.if Zarquoui didn’t bomb vege mobile the Iraqi people would problably pick up the slack.I believe it would be poetic justice for men like my dad who served so honorably in that war.

dick 07.25.05 at 10:35 pm

Saw the writeup on AOL and read the comments. I could not believe how many were supporting her and praising her for what she did back in Vietnam as well as what she is trying to do here. Seems as if the stupid b*tch got more supporters than people complaining about her.

I would agree with the first poster. Buy her a plane ticket and send her over there to talk to the Baghdadis and tell the “insurgents” that she thinks they are just the most wonderful people. She and Michael Moore can praise them to the skies as the true “Minutemen” they are. Then when they demand a huge ransom, we can all tell them that the US does not bargain with kidnappers and for them just to enjoy her to the hilt. Maybe if they ask her nice she can lead them in some exercises.

JannyMae 07.25.05 at 10:47 pm

I just read about this story on another blog, and was reminded that Jane’s been promoting her autobiography. I would be curious to see what the sales are like for her book??? Color me cynical, but perhaps noble, “peace-loving,” Jane is, “all about the money????”

Mojohand 07.26.05 at 6:36 am

Isn’t it funny…so many people criticize war opponents like JF yet do nothing real to support the war or the troops. Putting a magnet on your SUV isn’t support. Metaphorically spitting on opposition isn’t support.

Instead, actually going to Iraq is support. How many readers here are willing to put their lives or their kids’ lives on the line? Where are Barbara and Jenna Bush? Why are they not serving? How many readers are willing to pay for the war, instead of sucking the tit of service?

As a 14-year (and counting) Army veteran, as a 49-year-old sergeant, I’ve rejoined the Army…and will probably go “Over There” (watch that TV show on FX on Wednesdays) in February. That’s what I’m doing to support the troops.

If you really area a 49-year-old man, your comment is very immature and short-sighted, much like a teenager’s. You chose to join the Army and fight. Great. Some of my commenters are veterans, too. But don’t come onto this blog and lecture those who chose not to join the Army (including myself), stay here, and serve our country in a different way. I don’t have to satisfy your sense of “service” by going to Iraq. I’m on this blog every day speaking out against Islamofascism and for the preservation of my culuture, and I get called a religious bigot and a few unprintables. What you’re doing is commendable, and what I’m doing will never match it, but don’t tell me the only way I or anyone else can “support the troops” or defend our country is to be in Iraq. – Admin

Renee (the Orignal) 07.26.05 at 7:32 am

Thanks Admin for your comments (as you said…some of us ARE veterans)

Mojohand, you seem to forget that we also have the enemy sneaking in the back door, not just the front (there is a war on all fronts).

Doug 07.26.05 at 8:47 am

La Shawn: Please don’t get my hopes up. As a Vietnam vet the thought of seeing her in a grainy video begging for her life is better than all my fantasies about me and all the worlds super models combined. I do, however, have to be realistic. Didn’t Alex Baldwin and Barbara Streisand both promised to leave the country if Bush was elected? I went out and campaigned hard for President Bush based on those promises only to find them still here!

I still can’t figure out why these people want to live in a country they hate so much.

Doug

Andy 07.26.05 at 9:53 am

Mojohand, what’s so special about you that the Army would take you back at age 49 with only 14 years prior service? Just wondering because “As a 14-year (and counting) Army veteran, as a 49-year-old sergeant, I’ve rejoined the Army” sounds like a disconnect. And with an attitude like that, I sure hope you’re not leading any young impressionable privates and corporals.

As for the chickenhawk charge, who cares? There’s more than one way to support the troops and those who will can play a part. The Jenna/Barbara thing is, as Bugs Bunny would say; “What a maroon”. We have a volunteer military. By no means should anyone feel obligated to serve just because of who or how rich their daddies or mommies might be.

If we had a draft, you might have a point, but you don’t, so suck it up.

Hooah.

Minority in Cali now in MO. 07.26.05 at 12:02 pm

I made this bet earlier on POLI, does anyone care to wager either this “bus tour” never actually happens OR it is cancelled within 3 weeks of its inception? Actually I am pulling for Janey to go on this tour and reap her rewards for her actions 3 decades ago. I have no affiliation with that war as I was 2 and my dad’s number did not come up. However, I am a US citizen of which I am proud of those who went before me so I might be able to make this post right now. Thank you brave men! As for you Janey, I salute you with a flush from my toilet. Can I get an “Amen!”

Gary 07.26.05 at 12:02 pm

Mojo #27 – First off, what the hell is your special gift to us here that you can lecture anyone? If you’re such a hero, why’d you wait so long to rejoin?

We ALL, every one of us, are on the front lines of this war. We face an enemy that would like to kill you as you walk to work, ride a train, or visit a market on a Sunday morning. More civilians have been killed here in the US fighting this war than in Iraq. And today, as I type this, we are being plotted against.

If we don’t stand shoulder to shoulder and face this enemy together, we will surely be killed in great numbers.

Thanks for your service, but save us the lectures. My father greived the loss of his friend on Flt. 93, so don’t tell us that civiliance are not sacrificing.

Tita harden 07.26.05 at 12:32 pm

Mojo – Young Barbara Bush has been in Africa as a volunteer in helping aids victims. Young Jenna has been traveling with her family but plans on teaching at a charter school somewhere in DC. They have a life. They don’t need to join the army in order to make themselves relevant like you.

RedBeard 07.26.05 at 1:17 pm

My father didn’t carry a rifle during WWII; he did war work for AT&T. I dare Mojo to tell me to my face that my father did not do his part to defend and protect this nation.

That “chickenhawk” drivel is right out of the Soros/Moore/MoveOn playbook, and is about as intellectually honest as Bill Clinton’s claim that he “did not have sex with that woman.”

yetanotherjohn 07.26.05 at 1:20 pm

Just to be sure, can we also have Al Jazerra run a late show of Barbarella just before she goes.

dittybopper 07.26.05 at 1:56 pm

Jane needs to go to Iraq and talk with the Iraqi people. She needs to hear from them – the good, the bad and the ugly. Only by going to Iraq or at least reading blogs from Iraq will Jane Fonda and people who think like her really understand what is happening over there. Jane, why are so many Iraqi’s jjoing the military and police forces? Jane, today, why did the Iraqi Defense Minister threaten Syria? Jane, why is the re-enlistment rate so high among US soldiers who have served in Iraq? Why Jane? Whats it all about Jane? For once in you life, think. Jim 8th RRU Phu Bhai, Viet Nam, 1967.

Raymond 07.26.05 at 2:00 pm

The Iraq mission will go down as one of the greatest military blunders in US history. Not because it was a war that should not have been fought, but we went there without the will to fight it. We tried to fight it politically and surgically. We tried erroneously to blend Vietnam with Desert Storm when we should have applied Dresden and Hiroshima.

This will be President Bush’s legacy. Love him, but he failed on this one.

daniel frazier 07.26.05 at 2:47 pm

An old fool, is still an old fool.

JEGjr 07.26.05 at 4:31 pm

Remember – “Human Shields Go Home!” ?

Go home Jane, they don’t want you there. They want US there,,, moron.

JEGjr 07.26.05 at 4:36 pm

#39 Raymond:

Umm, voting in a region that hasn’t seen it since, well, THE BEGINNING OF TIME!!! What a “blunder.” What a “failure.”

Raymond, read #38.

Raymond 07.26.05 at 4:51 pm

JEGjr. I will admit this. I try to contain those types of comments to forums like this. If at anytime I thought they may hinder the ability of our forces to kill muslims on the battlefield over in Iraq, I would not make the comments.

I fully support the President, the war and the troops. I only wish Gen. Patton was in command.

Renee 07.26.05 at 8:07 pm

And there you have from the Howard Dean talking points memo (Robert #47)…

or

Howard, is that you???

La Shawn 07.26.05 at 8:12 pm

Robert had to be dismissed.

Renee 07.26.05 at 8:12 pm

LOL…
I thought I was seeing things :-)

Raymond 07.26.05 at 8:27 pm

Independent: I think it just a matter of time before someone has the courage to apply the Sedition Acts to some of this “fondaesque” buffoonery.

It won’t come from this group of GOP cowards, but eventually there will be a breaking point and someone will rise to the occasion.

If only people weren’t so afraid of the Kennedy crime family, his butt would have been behind vars along time ago.

Anyone else find it highly amusing that Sen. John Kerry is demanding that someone seeking office release all of their records? LOL!!!

Cricket 07.26.05 at 9:27 pm

You’re right; she is an old fool. She won’t go to Iraq, but she will go someplace safe that is “Muslim” enough and make an even bigger fool of herself.

Chuck 07.26.05 at 10:15 pm

Fred #8 says “I reckon that Christianity stuff she claimed to have embraced a few years ago didn’t stick. Strike this up to another squishy, evangelifish gospel presentation.”

Andy #10 says “Fred, that “born-again’ schtick was just to get the evangelicals to breakdown and buy a book or two.”

Now, I hate to defend Hanoi Jane — and I’m not gonna. I’m gonna defend the people I know, who were instrumental in exposing Jane to the Gospel. Maybe it didn’t stick; maybe it was all a Fonda-sham — even Jesus’ parable of the sower demonstrated good seeds falling on rocky soil or among thorns, which sprang up but quickly withered or was choked (Luke 8:4-10).

But these friends of mine are rock solid conservative fundamentalist … [whisper]Southern Baptists[/whispter]. Not a squishy evangelifish among ‘em.

firebird 07.26.05 at 11:44 pm

Frankly i hope she and her peace pansies take a trip down to south america and get stranded and or somebody strips her bus and leaves it in a junk yard or in a monster truck contest

Andy 07.27.05 at 4:42 am

Chuck, I’m aware of the back story. Unfortunately, it went by the wayside like Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan etc. Must be that celebrity must-have of the day or something.

Curious Voyager 07.28.05 at 12:00 pm

Vietnam War was lost in the streets and college campuses of America and more importantly in the newspapers, TV, and halls of Congress and not on the battle field.

I’m happy to see HanoiJaneReunionTour05 shaping up. This is proof positive that the left is intellectually and morally bankrupt. I heard it all before. “We opposed the war not the troops.” Well bloddy hell, why were they cursing me and my guys and throwing trash at us then?

God bless the men and women of the American military!

and janey, I’ll likely see you in hell, just hope you get there first so the devil can have a good laugh at the joke you’ve become before receiving my sorry soul. Retired veteran thoughts.

Raymond 07.28.05 at 12:08 pm

Curious Voyager, If my prayers can prevent it, you will NOT be going to Hell my friend. Accept Him into your heart as Lord and Saviour and we will throw a few back in Heaven and tell some war war stories and this hurts to say it, but it is my Christianly duty. I pray that Jane Fonda doesn’t go to Hell either. I don’t want anyone to go to Hell, but that is YOUR choice. I can only pray for you.

Sorry, had to get that out. Must offer another way even thought I think you may have been using rhetorical license. LOL!!
