This is what happens when you rely on taxpayers’ money to get your awful radio outlet off the ground instead of competing and meeting the market’s demands (like conservative talk radio), a symptom of a tragic disease known as America-Utopia Socialism Delirium.
It doesn’t occur to these infected folks that if there were a demand for their product, they wouldn’t need to divert government funds from poor black kids in New York. Advertisers would be more than willing to fill their coffers.
But, alas, the we-care-so-much-about-you-black-folks flakes are on the dole, too.

To be quite honest, I am not surprised. But I’ll wait and see what happens before I pile on.
The MSM gave Air America tons of free publicity when it was launched. Now silence on this scandal. That says a lot about the MSM’s objectivity.
From (Dead) Air America’s official statement:
“… The company that had run AIR AMERICA RADIO till then no longer had anything to do with the network … PIQUANT had no involvement whatsoever with funds from GLORIA WISE BOYS &GIRLS CLUB … PIQUANT is not being investigated by the City, which is nvestigating a transaction that took place before PIQUANT existed.”
Well, well, well … according to these bozos, a corporate buyout or takeover completely absolves an organization of any wrongdoing. How interesting.
Can you imagine the outcry from Jackson, Sharpton, Bond, Mfume, et al if J. P. Morgan Chase Bank had tried to use this sorry logic to excuse themselves from their impending slavery reparations shakedown?
Yet the “Black Leadership” has nothing to say when Air America takes hundreds of thousands of dollars from poor inner-city minority kids.
Ahhh … the sweet smell of hypocrisy.
We will submit to the taking of money from our wallets to the “free” press (Air America)…
You see here people. This is what socialism leads to.
Socialism (defined as the government choosing who gets what resources) leads to taking from anyone who has any money (target anyone successful) and giving that to anyone who the government thinks should get the money (give to those lazy non-thinking non-compete in the market place people).
Capitalism (defined as the people choosing who gets what resources) would have Air America compete in the market place.
Of course there should be a safety-net and support for the non-able bodied. This isn’t part of the discussion.

There is something fundamental missing from this story.
Air America didn’t steal tax money from “poof Black kids”. These “poor Black kids” and their families have no more right to this money than Air America does. This money doesn’t have “poor Black kids” name on it.
In fact, Air America may be doing some of these “poor Black kids” a favor – their parents may have to turn off their soap operas and go to work.
This money has been stolen from taxpayers, not “poor Black kids”.
Liberals have no qualms about many things.
From making money on Rove bashing to selling shirts with the “n word” prominently displayed.

I agree with what you are saying, but I think it is the hypocricy of the left that is being pointed out. They constantly use that type of language to describe conservatives/Republicans. Throwing their language back at them is just a touch of irony.
