Update (6:25 p.m.): Meanwhile…I’m taking the weekend off to get my thoughts together for this conference. As I begin to speak at more conferences, generate more publicity, and publish that first book, I suspect more lonely, anonymous slobs will scamper from under their damp and filthy rocks to see what La Shawn Barber does next.

La Shawn, it looks like the Pillsbury Doughboy has launched a marshmallow attack on you from inside his Dumpster.
The good news is that each marshmallow contains the complete scope of his wit and wisdom.
The bad news is that he is so full of hot air that there is no known method to cool him down.
The great news is he can’t work up enough speed and projection to get the marshmallows to clear the dumpster, so they just fall back onto him and ooze down his frame as they melt from the hot air.
Soon enough, he will just be the Pillsbury Doughboy Puddle stuck to the bottom and sides of the Dumpster.

Unreal. One suggestion for self-protection, although you’ve probably already considered it, is to copyright your name.
Common sense tells us you already own your name, but some interesting litigation suggests “common sense” doesn’t always prevail.
By the way, attributing false quotes and sentiments to someone is called “blacking,” and it’s a tactic sometimes used by intelligence community types to foster mistrust between allied opponents.
Potential identity theft? Malice? Potential loss of income?
Unfortunately, freedom of the press protects satire. Especially, if it’s considered political satire.
What you do have, here, is the deception….. a much more polite term: confusion. You are not allowed to confuse the public.
I believe they could be ordered to put some kind of disclaimer, or state, emphatically, that their site is intended solely as political satire/comedy.

Actually, Oscar Levant said it best: “Imitation is the sincerest form of plagiarism.” La Shawn might have a tough time with libel (being a public figure), but not with trademark infringement or a cybersquatting claim by use of her domain name. That’s not “satire” on that site, and the use of her photograph, downloaded from her site, no doubt, is copyright infringement. That idiot is in a world of legal hurt. La Shawn will bring a caca storm down upon him/her. Hope he/she has a strong umbrella.

All I can say is that we are here for you Lashawn, and I truly hope that these cretins do not dissuade you from your mission. They are on the ropes to do this type of despicable perversion. And that makes them dangerous.

Hey, La Shawn is a big girl. Did she know what she was in for when she entered this realm(political/religious issues and debate)? Maybe so, maybe no.
The bottom line is some people will agree and others will disagree. Some will vehemently attack you, some will hang on your every word. Thats the type of country we live in. Is it fair? In a previous post La Shawn states “the legal wheels are already in motion.” (For every action their is an equal and opposite reaction)
Besides, if the meadia see’s the controversy as marketable and, it gets a desirable amount of ink and air time, who knows what type of venture she could parlay this thing into.(ie. radio/TV)
The legal wheels must have burned rubber on this one, Blogger appears to have already removed the site, whatever it contained.
I read the fakery, and figured out that they must have installed internet access in the sunroom at the Happy Hill Home for the Developmentally Impaired.
I presume someone posted a look a like site, pretending to be you, but I am happy to see that Blogger has already deleted the site.
