Love the ESP thing.

I care about Results Raymond. I care about less abortions and no illegal immigrants. Your solution of mines would end up having the results of more illegal immigrants for the reason I outlined.

Democrat-light.... or better results more faster towards the things we care about. Your hyperbole is divisive with 0 ounces of understanding.

I'm playing to win. I'm playing for results. You my friend fail to understand your solutions would increase the problems that we outline.

I never give nods to you as others have because I know this about you. You are quick with the tongue and slow with the brain. Traits of Cobra.

Some people erroneously calling themselves conservative really care only about defeating Democrats. Not defeating liberalism. There are a few of them posting here. One of them is pretty obvious.

Some talk a good game, but they are just Democrats-light. Eternally looking for solutions, over-analyzing and nuancing every dumb little point they can think of to make themselves look intelligent and informed but never actually employing any of their testosterone in implementing them because they are simply just afraid of making mistakes. Afraid they are going to lose. Not playing or voting to win, but playing or voting not to lose.

Pathologically risk averse. The classic definition of "loser."

Baklava wrote, "If the results of our actions is more deaths of lives because more liberals are in power how will we all feel?"

I understand what you are saying and I am more than willing to make political compromises for the greater good. But on a personal level, this is a an issue that can't be hedged. There is too much at stake and anything less than shouting the truth from the rooftops is to give wiggle room for the "moral relavitists."

Jan, you're welcome. Your story aptly illustrates how we as a society are so depraved & desensitized by rationalizing sin. Unfortunately, come Judgement Day, there will be boatloads of people that will be shocked, simply shocked that their best is worse than a filthy rag.

Independent;
Politically, I am of the persuasion that coercion upon the electorate, will not work, particularly on an issue so fraught with emotionalism. Ergo, I agree with you that conservatives cannot strong-muscle their way over the wishes of society, and remain politically viable. I do think the issue would be far better settled legislatively, and I believe that most people will want to keep abortion legal, given a chance to decide the issue at this point. I do think that they will seek to keep it more limited, than the any time for any reason for anybody that we have now. Conversely, I so absolutely believe in the unrelenting power of truth. I guess that's why I am so 'in everyone's face'! I remember one time, talking to a group of people, holding a nine by thirteen glossy of a beautiful three year old child named Rosa Anna, Her mother had been undergoing an abortion procedure, that went south, and was precipitately stopped. Rosa Anna was born alive. Horribly, her arm had already been ripped off, a legacy that she gets to live with, because her mother decided at the last minute that Rosa Anna would be a financial encumbrance. For some reason, she didn't decide this until the seventh month of pregnancy. Everyone in the audience that I was speaking to, sat there in stunned disbelief. When interviewed, the mother was asked what she would say to Rosa Anna about her missing arm. She said that she would be forced to tell the truth as Rosa would find out from papers or someone telling her. She would also tell her that she didn't think she could afford her, though after seeing her apartment, her clothes, and car, I realized that she was speaking of economic convenience, not desperation. 'Gobsmackingly', she said that she would advise Rosa Anna that if she ever needed an abortion, get a better doctor. The implications of telling a child to get a better doctor, overwhelmed me with its cruelty. And, this is what we call love in our society.

Andy, no one called me 'my dear' in too long. It sounded good.

Independent said, "Jan, you state the truth perfectly. Wow, and wow, and wow!

Dell and Andy, I appreciate your sympathy and prayers for my friends.

Jan, you state the truth perfectly.

This is an issue I will never be able to personally comprimise for political gain. Oh, I may have to choose between the less of two evils at times, but I will never pretend I don't believe abortion is unequivacally wrong so as not to scare off the moderates and liberals.

While many have probably seen the research including me Jan, I cannot even come close to any insistence on this issue that the government impose someone carrying to term the life.

The consequences would be disastrous for conservatives in general no matter how much research. It would simply be difficult to convince others that it is right for the government to impose a law on this topic. It's hard enough to get to the baby step of keeping the government from taking my money to fund abortion operations.

We have to realize the context of the situation we are in.

It's kind of related to the same situation as the "alternative border solution" strategy of Raymond's. It'd get us killed at the voting booth and we'd end up LOSING by actually ELECTING more Democrats and liberals into office which would HURT our cause.

Anyway.. Thanks for bringing it up.
