DOH! I placed this on my blog! Thanks, Lashawn, for the head’s up and teaching me about the importance of checking sources!
I don’t know La Shawn. He doesn’t seem to present any significant evidence that it’s not real except that he doesn’t think it’s real.
He even points to stories where it has happened before which are supposed to disprove it somehow.
Unless he has more than that, I’m not sure he has debunked anything…
The point is that it’s out there for speculation, John. Could be real. Could be fake.
Dudes,
If you check the news in Korean, at
http://english.chosun.com/
you will find the original story in English.
Here’s the direct link.

Daegu is a medium-sized city about an hour’s drive from Busan/Pusan, where I live.
You’re welcome.
OOOH! Here’s a better one.
“Infant daughter dies as parents play games
online.”

BTW, Korea is one of the most wired countries
in the world, and they have PC cafes literally
across the street from one another. Most are
open 24/7.
The media were duped, and then gullible bloggers like me bought it. I not only posted it on bloggedy blog, by also my Internet addiction blog, Hooked on the Net. Looks like I’ve got to go wipe some cyber egg off my face.

P.S. – Sorry you didn’t get invited to Justice Sunday. But glad you’re keeping it in perspective (i.e., the 1 Corinthians quote).
I thought it sounded familiar to an earlier story. They need to pay their factcheckers more. Wonder if there are a bunch of folks laughing at the US (& the World) for being duped a 2nd time.
