I don’t know if you have seen this one before LaShawn. But she has posted over on my blog.
http://www.thephonicspage.org/
She spends her free time teaching phonics and literacy.
Been knowing her since before you joined the ’sphere.
Our apologies, LaShawn. We’ve added the link.
Bad blogger. Bad.
The Patriotette
Oops! Didn’t mean to call you out. It just reminded me that I have a bunch of how-do-I-blog e-mails in my inbox.
LaShawn,
Belafonte said any Black serving in current administration is “evil”. I presume Colin Powell and Condi Rice are included! Is not Frances Rice (retired Army JAG?) part of new Black Republican group that is taking hold over many states? Ken Blackwell, hopefully, will be next Governor of the State of Ohio. The democrats blame him for pushing for marriage ballot in Ohio (over Republican hierarchy) and getting Bush Ohio’s votes. Jesse Jackson tore him apart on TV without mentioning his name or that he is Black. 2006 and 2008 will be interesting! They want to discredit Blackwell and cut him down! At 6′6″ they have some way to go.

#7. This “Able Danger” story is in my opinion, the biggest story and coverup since “Watergate.”
The Clinton Administration including Jamie Gorelick, Sandy Berger the Co-President Hillary and certainly Bill have some major explaining to do.
If it were possible, I’d at the least charge them all with some degree of manslaughter. Over 3,000 Americans died because of Clinton’s failure.
Someone needs to be put in an orange jumpsuit over this scandal.
This definitively proves that WILLIAM JEFFERSON CLINTON and not George Bush was responsible for 9/11 and it is time for them to pay.
Karl Rove, you are officially off the news headlines. That actually goes for you too Mrs. Holloway and Mrs. Shaheen.
On second thought Mrs. Shaheen, why don’t you camp out at Bill Clinton’s “Harlem Office” and ask him why he killed 3,000 Americans.
#9. Republicans do not need to change their message as much as they need to add to their target audiences. Republicans also need to insure that they do not send RINOS to do a Conservative’s job.
True liberlism certainly does not sell in the “new” so-called “Black community.” Moderate is an even more evil and undesirable position for Republicans to take in that it is not principled and it would be viewed as insincere.
Only a solidly conservative message heavy on God, Christianity, personal responsibilty, anti-homosexuailty, fiscal and economic empowerment and opportunity to participate in the American process will sell.
Pandering to REAL Blacks will not sell. You have to give them the same message of hope that is given to “white” America.
Do you only want to know about political posts?
Any kind you have, MJ.
Ok–I recently did a post about Green Day’s hypocrisy, in terms of their extensive use of the media that they criticize: http://blog.metrolingua.com/2005/08/hypocrites.html
Thanks, LaShawn! We’re new and have a LOT to learn, obviously.
Thanks to your link we received some very thought-provoking comments and feedback. Our first “discussion”!! How exciting.
LaShawn,
Thanx for the plug.. what do we need to do to get a permanent link? inquiring minds want to know ;P
L.A.
Raymond…wrong again…but that is a discussion for a different thread…
LaShawn, I dig these threads, they always get me over to blogs (like Conservababe) I wouldn’t have checked out otherwise.
That was a pretty well written article as well. Have you ever had any thing on http://www.townhall.com?

Will do a lot more when I can work it into my trying-to-pay-the-bills and blogging schedule.
#16. Thanks Dell. When YOU say I am wrong, I know I am dead on the money. Thanks for the nebulous critique of whatever it was your were imagining this time.
LaShawn…I didn’t know there was a writings page! I am such a bad blog peruser
. I am checking it out now.
Raymond…I don’t mind showing you how you are wrong (it seems to be a regular occurance) this thread just doesn’t seem like the correct forum for it.
Check the Site Navigation box in the upper left for pages. – Admin
Dell and Raymond, It is my opinion that true leaders don’t court demographics, but stand true and fight for those policies that are best for America as a whole. Minorities will be marginalized as long as they think in terms of “what’s best for my people.” When any individual makes choices based on what is best for America, then they will find success.
#20. Agreed 100%
Hey, thanks for the link! Glad you like our blog title. We’re trying to work out a deal with God where He brings the grace, we bring the smiting, but so far, He’s not going for it
I’ve got no particular post to draw your attention to. That us, unless you want to know how to keep the government from seizing your property…

Will you be covering medical blogging? If you already have where can I read more about medical blogging on your site?

Odd, I usually use you, Dell and Actus as my barometers for how wrong an idea is.
I fear, one day you three will agree completely on an idea, and Gabriel will be forced to sound his horn.
And I say that with love
See what y’all done did? Made LaShawn mad and I thought I had been behaving quite niecely relativley speaking based on my history.
Don’t forget me.
Three blogs that I quite enjoy are:
http://www.intellectualconservative.com
http://www.city-journal.org
http://www.voiceinthewilderness
I also read frontpagemag.com, though I realize that this may be an incendiary choice for many people. After really examining Horowitz, I think he has been seriously misunderstood. Many have labeled him a racist (which is the new form of censorship in America, I have discovered…unless one is bashing white people, and then, anything goes)….but I can hear the rant, now. But, for anyone that is curious, he is articulate, provocative, stimulating, and makes one think. Also, there are a host of other writers on this blog.
And, Rayomond’s right about not sending RINOs to do the job of conservatives…….and he has been behaving quite nicely….
Horowitz is on point. I too check out frontpage mag and Worldnet Daily is a favorite of mine.
SCSI – “Odd, I usually use you, Dell and Actus as my barometers for how wrong an idea is.

Independent – You are wrong to and make absolutely no sense.
Raymond;
Here I was, waiting for an explosion, and there you were, keepin’ it real…..
David Horowitz is the man.
I’ve read his stuff since the year 2001.
I think the following quote from a Baptist minister is especially appropriate for this blog:
“I have three things I’d like to say today. First, while you were sleeping last night, 30,000 kids died of starvation or diseases related to malnutrition. Second, most of you don’t give a sh*t. What’s worse is that you’re more upset with the fact that I said sh*t than the fact that 30,000 kids died last night.”
– Dr Tony Campolo, Mount Carmel Baptist Church, West Philadelphia.

Typical liberal….
Always thinking that liberals care and are “well-intentioned” yet conservatives don’t care or are mean spirited or evil.
Don’t worry. The seed is planted Aaron. I was there but converted in 1991. You might not but at least you are exposing yourself to another set of facts…
Baklava – The point is that you all seem more fixated on one or two of the even the mildest “swear” words in a thoughful post than in the substance of it. Delete away, LaShawn!
So what’s your solution Aaron? Remove any income from anyone making more than $50,000 and buy food? The end result of that solution would be to put more peole in poverty by devastating this country’s economy.
Caring is not the solution. Looking at results is the solution. Casting aspersions on the 50% of Americans that are conservative is not the solution. Working with us towards solution will achieve more than casting aspersions.
Well, my trackback doesn’t seem to want to come through…:(
I did an interview with a German Law graduate about the German Homeschoolers and the situation there. She’s not a homeschooler, but has a special interest in the subject as a law graduate and a Christian. I really enjoyed the interview as it gave a good grasp on what’s happening in Germany and the present situation.
Here’s the link: http://agenttimonline.com/?p=7
Are you sure you did it correctly? A WP trackback that doesn’t work on another WP blog? Strange- Admin
Who is “casting aspersions at conservatives”?
One I will say about conservatives: they sure do have a well-developed persecution complex.
Oh, yeah…La Shawn..I did link to you in the post
Leave me out of it, please. – Admin
Baklava -
You say “you are exposing yourself to another set of facts.” Well, Bakla, contrary to what the Bushies say, there is an external reality out there, and it is not maleable to whatever shape they choose. I know you are busy creating your own alternate universe, with your own “facts”, but reality eventually has a nasty way of reasserting itself.
Why don’t you try this little dose of reality:
http://rawstory.com/news/2005/Video_Mother_of_fallen_soldier_asks_questions_of_Presiden_0812.html
Yep, reality is a “female dog”, isn’t it?. (appropriately G-rated for ye puritans of good faith)
I thought I’d give you a chance to comment on LBC, especially since you were so persistent. But now I think I’ve had enough. Don’t know if you’re just bored with Daily Kos, but that “Bushies” and sarcastic “puritans” hogwash irritates me. I don’t allow profanity on this blog, and if that bothers you, there are millions of blogs out there for you to choose from that allow you to say whatever you want. – Admin
Wow. I’m almost famous now. Thanks for the plug. To show my gratitude, I’ll play “Any Way You Want It” in the Winamp, just for you.

La Shawn, it was weird…I just switched to WP, so I’m still trying to get things working 100% right.
Thanks for the link though!!!
It may be just that particular template because I sent a trackback to your blog, and I don’t see it. But never fear, greater geeks than I are here:
http://wordpress.org/support/
Do a search or start a new topic.
Who are “the Bushies“?
You gave me a link. Here’s one for you concerning Cindy Sheenan. http://michellemalkin.com/archives/003225.htm
Seems Cindy’s family have released a statement..
The Sheehan Family lost our beloved Casey in the Iraq War and we have been silently, respectfully grieving. We do not agree with the political motivations and publicity tactics of Cindy Sheehan. She now appears to be promoting her own personal agenda and notoriety at the the expense of her son’s good name and reputation. The rest of the Sheehan Family supports the troops, our country, and our President, silently, with prayer and respect.
Sincerely,
Casey Sheehan’s grandparents, aunts, uncles and numerous cousins.
And my question is what is the outcome? Is it your purpose also to remove our troops from Iraq now and leave a vacuum for the country to be in much worse shape and be taken over by terrorists?
In a debate it is important to look forward towards solutions that would work. What is your solution and what would be the outcome of said solution?
LOL..yeah, my tech team is on it…stillthinkinghq.org is the best
.
Oh also,
Casey Sheenan wanted to be there. He re-enlisted while in Iraq. He’s a grown man. I support him and I honor him. We need to finish the job to honor his death.
My opinion.
If any of you miss Actup, he’s posting at Patterico’s Cindy Sheehan post:
He seems to have Darleen riled up.

Bak,
Typical liberal….
Always thinking that liberals care and are “well-intentioned†yet conservatives don’t care or are mean spirited or evil.
You are acting up as bad the ‘liberals’.
Sometimes just let stuff go. Even I am getting better at at.
It’s actually funny to me because it’s one of the ways to really get underneath a liberal’s skin is to let them know that their belief system (thinking that we’re evil and mean-spirited) isn’t a good way to debate. Sets them off faster than a …. Well. you get the point.
I’m having too much fun today….
I meant ‘at it’.
As far as Cindy Sheehan, I really don’t have much to say other that none of can presume to speak for her and we certainly can’t presume to speak for her dead son and all these bloggers/MSM folks really need to stop thinking that they do.
Perhaps she did support the war at one point and now she doesn’t because she had a change of heart. Last time I checked, we were all still allowed to change our minds. We wouldm be a lot better off if we (meaning society as a whole) stopping presume we could read other folks minds.
Good point. Let’s let Cindy speak for herself. Here’s her open letter to the president. It has lots of constructive dialog in it.
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/Commentary/com-8_11_05_CS_pf.html
Baklava
Miss Actup? I’ve always liked jumbo shrimp and compact trucks, but I can’t get my head around that.
And I agree with Tiffany. You’re better than that. You may be right about Aaron, but not all libs can be lumped in there.
See y’all later, I am off to the Bela Fleck concert. Get me some banjo luvin.
I read the letter and it sounded like a angry, hurt grieving mother. I feel for her because I can’t possibly know what it’s like to bury your child.
She still can change her mind though.
When Cindy Sheehan was being interviewed by Keith Olberman, she said something rather amazing…He said, after looking around at all of the press camped out, that maybe she was better off not meeting with the president. She looked at him, smiled, and said in her baby voice, “Yes,you’re right! It’s great! I hope I never meet with Bush, because it would stop the momentum we’ve got going…But, I don’t want to give away the secret.” This was literally one minute after she was saying that she just wanted five minutes with Bush…….
No? Just all the liberals sitting here in CA State government jobs around me then….
Their vitriol is terrible.
When Condi was nominated for SOS, you should’ve heard the people here talking…. talking about her as if she was:
1) evil
2) dumber than anything and incompetent
Oh, my. The things liberals say (especially white ones) when they think you’re one of them. I ought to write a book…
“She still can change her mind though.”
Sure can. The quibble that Malkin writes about is the fact that the press isn’t reporting 2 things generally:
1) Cindy already met with Bush for an extended period of time
2) Cindy said some quite different statements after meeting with Bush the first time.
It isn’t about Cindy more or less. It’s about how the press is using Cindy and not reporting certain facts. And what is funny about the press alignment is the fact that Cindy thinks Bush “stole” the election and thinks this is an “illegal” war. The press is showing their bias vividly (for the 100th time). That’s what the story is about…. I believe….
La Shawn #59,
Yep. I bite my tongue here. I laugh. I say things like “can you believe it” after they say the things they say. If you were to put a mirror next to my ears though you’d see a steamed up mirror.
La Shawn,
Thanks for another plug this week. This has been a week of largely attacking Darwinism on the blog. It’s been fun
Thanks to you LBC faithful who have come by …I appreciate it and hope you’ll come by regularly as I attempt to write intelligent worldview analysis (and promote a biblical worldview).

Hey wait: I loved Journey too!
Hey Lashawn – I’m truly honored to be your favorite Christian blogger. You are my favorite political blogger and I am not saying that just to suck up to you. Anyway, just wanted to say thanks and let you know I appreciate you and your work very much.
Sometime in September I’m going to try to plan a get together for bloggers in the Baltimore – Washington DC – Northern, VA area – I hope you can make it so we can meet face to face. I’ll talk with you off line about it when some dates start shaping up.
Dell, just wanted to let you know I thought you meant let demographics dictate policy when you wrote, “Republicans need to change their language” to win over the black community. I visited your blog and completely understand your position after reading your further clarification in the comments section. I think you are on to something. Conservatives probably do need to change their marketing strategy in the black community just as long as the message itself remains intact. I left a comment on your blog as well.
Awesome downingworld link! It is so good to see an alternative viewpoint – especially when it’s an alternative to the racial grief parade.
“Only a solidly conservative message heavy on God, Christianity, personal responsibilty, anti-homosexuailty, fiscal and economic empowerment and opportunity to participate in the American process will sell.
Pandering to REAL Blacks will not sell. You have to give them the same message of hope that is given to “white†America.
Comment by Raymond”
Yeah! What he said.
Americans have much more in common with each other than they must…or the Democrat view of world would have us think.
Americans was peace, prosperity, security, freedom, access and opportunities for education, work and other success; and to be able to enjoy the fruits of their labor. The things we disagree about are relatively minor in the grand scheme of things.
Poor people of any hue have similar concerns. Middle class folks have similar issues despite race. I don’t know too many rich people, but I assume they have similar problems and goals.
I have never been affiliated with a political party. As I’e gotten older, I’ve become more discriminating about what organizations I lend my name to, e.g. I am no longer an active member of either of the professional psychiatric organizations because I disagree with too much of the “public policy” stuff they put out.
IMHO complaining that the GOP doesn’t “reach out” to blacks is insulting. I am much more than black. Being black is generally not at the top of my list of concerns. Issues associated with being black are generally not at the top of my list of concerns because…I’m too busy living my life!
My main concerns are national security, the economy, retirement, etc. In essence, for lack of a better term, my major concerns are “color-blind.” So I tend to find messages “for blacks”, or “for women” or “for people who wear glasses” a bit demeaning and insulting because most of us–on a day to day level–don’t have the luxury to be worrying about issues so specific to one characteristic of our being when we’re trying to make sure the bills are covered, the car is registered, the kids are learning, etc.
