Absolutely wonderful, right down (up?) to the quill and ink favicon. LBC may be in the market for a face lift, too…
Lisa Sabin of Elegant Webscapes, who also designed my template, is highly recommended. Price page.
For your coding needs (every girl needs a good coder), I recommend Mark Jaquith of Tempus Fugit.
See the Geek Stuff category.
Update: I forgot to mention Mark Coffey at Decision ‘08. He left Blogger.com for WordPress.

Thank you, La Shawn! I feel like I’ve just purchased a fancy new dress
I echo your comments about Lisa – she has an amazing ability to reach inside my brain to find out exactly what I want .. and make it even better!
Thanks again
I visited Elegant Webs scapes. And I see how the earth tones colors you choose are easy on your readers eyes (a major factor when reading blogs).
I am still trying to think of what colors would be good for our Family Medicine blog when we get ready to do an overhaul.
thanks for the contact, Maribel Hernandez
Maribel – For some reason, forest green pops into my head. Maybe you could go with forest green for the borders and various shades of softer green (and tan?) for background.
That’s quite interesting, as hues of forest green are the colors I am tossing around in Dream Weaver. It makes sense since we stand for “Alternative Phyto-Med” (plant based pharmaceuticals). I’ve been spending time over at your artistic language, as I desire to write with clarity on many medical issues. I really like this spell check feature in your comment box.
Sincerely, Maribel
Dreamweaver is OK, especially if you’re comfortable with it. Blog platforms are fairly easy to work with, so you may want to consider upgrading to WordPress. They’re not paying for this (full disclosure!), but WP is the best.
Dear La Shawn, Okay, I’m making myself notes to upgrade to WordPress.
LaShawn,
Ever thought of having a “Live Chat” section?
There are so many links on your page, maybe I’m overlooking it?
Dan
I am reading your “Geeks R Us’ section. It makes alot of sense, thanks for adding the bold letters Geek Stuff.
Lisa designed my header. She did a great job, and the price was very reasonable. Plus, she was really laid back and easy to work with. If I do more work on it in the future, I plan to go back to Lisa.

La Shawn–I like your style because it’s not girly, and strong. I don’t agree with the “absolutely wonderful” label.
Dan – Yeah, I got a lot of links.
I’ve thought about a chat and a bulletin board, but maintaining this blog is just about all I can handle.
Maureen Martin, I had a chance to look at your header, and saw the lovely cameo as well. It’s also a nice way to meet other bloggers through this comment box.

I am looking for a WP 3 column theme that is a little brighter. I think I am overblogged though, I had a dream about Michelle Malkin (it wasn’t dirty) after I saw her on the Daily News Show with John Stewart…
Me thinks I need a break…
LB I think I am going to talk to the lady that designed yours and see if she can help me get my site to look like I want…she looks fairly affordable…
Is Lisa competition?
For me? No. I’m not a designer. I can do simple, low level coding, but Lisa is one of my recommended subcontractors. I’m more of a promoter and market strategizer (new word!).
I think I’ll add Mark to the list, too.

Dell – on a side note that for some reason your comment reminded me of, Michelle Malkin’s appearance on a televised interview segment years ago was my introduction to blogs. My reaction to her was probably how many react to La Shawn’s appearances: “Whoa, what’s with this attractive non-white woman talking all this conservative stuff? I’ve gotta know more!” (I just thought of the narrative in Starship Troopers-’Would you like to know more?’)
The first sites I found through Michelle’s blog were La Shawn’s and Ambra’s, and it’s just grown from there! In fact, La Shawn’s blogroll is responsible for me finding most of my favorites!
Sorry to get off-topic queen!
Many thanks! I couldn’t be happier with the move so far…have a great one…
Ambra’s a little too silly for me and as far as Michelle, I don’t do blogs that don’t let you comment, to me that defeats the purpose, I could go to a regular news site for that. I mostly dig LaShawn and I think I came here through Blackelectorate. Then a few of the people I met in here and like. Those are who I frequent.
LaShawn actually inspired me to blog. She is my blog hero!
