The more I read stories about just how bad the illegal immigration problem is in this country, the more my support for the war in Iraq weakens.
Practically every day we hear of another roadside bomb killing Americans. A ragtag bunch of ignorant losers who want to have sex with 72 virgins against a military increasingly de-balled by an effete media and seemingly intimidated president. No contest. Why, in 2005 and with all that military hardware at our disposal, Bush sends our men into hand-to-hand combat situations with 8th century psychos who’d strap a bomb to a baby, is a mystery.
Even more mysterious is Bush’s “fair” immigration policy that allows terrorists, the very people we’re fighting in Iraq, to walk right across the southern border. Every time an American is killed for “freedom” in that stinking desert, I wonder how better served our country would be if he’d been here at home guarding his borders.
I’m still enough of a Bush supporter to give him the benefit of the doubt about the war, but my support is weakening, especially after reading stories like this:
“Fifty yards from the border is a rail yard, and 500 yards away is a major interstate and a bus station. Anyone wanting to illegally enter can be on their way in a matter of seconds,” said Hannity, who co-hosts the “Hannity & Colmes” show on the Fox News Channel. “This is why this town is well-known for being a major crossing point.”
….Hannity calls El Paso “ground zero” because this area is where two major cities with a combined population of more than 2 million merge into one, and because the number of border crossings, both legal and illegal, could make this the entryway for terrorists.
U.S. Border Patrol officials reported that from October 2004 to July 2005, more than 70,000 immigrants were arrested by agents in the El Paso region. Last year, agents arrested 104,000 people. And, legally, from 100,000 to 120,000 people cross from Juárez into El Paso every day. (Source)
What says our president about this breach, one that Islamofascists can and probably have exploited? The most recent information on the White House web site is some drivel about Bush and Mexican president Vicente Fox reaffirming a “commitment to security.” What this idiot Fox has to do with our homeland security is another mystery.
Over the next few months my posts will probably seem very angry to you. In fact, you may become angry yourselves over my increasingly anti-Iraq war, anti-Mexican and Central American illegal immigrants, and anti-Bush stances.
That can’t be helped.
Update: Says Republican Congresswoman Sue Myrick: “I will introduce a bill that raises that civil fine from $250 per alien to $10,000 per alien and will give the arresting law enforcement agency a cut of the fine.”
In other news, Judicial Watch announced it will file a lawsuit against the town of Herndon. From the web site:
Both federal and state law prohibits the Town of Herndon from committing public funds and resources in order to facilitiate the illegal employment of undocumented aliens.
Update II: Ad campains to discourage Mexicans from jumping the border are a “colossal waste of money.” I agree. We don’t need bloody ads; we need enforcement!
I’ve entered into the Twilight Zone…
