‘Ethnic Selection’

I’m curious about something.

So-called minorities complain all the time that white real estate agents steer them to “ethnic” communities but steer white clientele to predominately white neighborhoods. Typically, “minority” neighborhoods (particularly in urban areas) have stinky schools and high crime. Obviously no white, black or Hispanic homebuyer who cares about his family is going to purchase a home in such a neighborhood, so where else would the agent take him?

I’d really like to know what’s going on. Are blacks and Hispanics upset because they’re sent to black or Hispanic neighborhoods, the “bad” areas, or are they upset that no whites are sent to look at houses in those areas?

Between all the shucking and jiving and tap-dancing, we miss the real issue: no one with any sense wants to live in a high-crime area, and no amount of “diversity” talk will ever change that.

Let’s be honest. Why are so-called white neighborhoods considered more desirable in the first place? What qualities contribute to their appeal? Why are blacks and Hispanics insulted if shown houses in black and Hispanic neighborhoods? Do they have something against other blacks and Hispanics? I doubt I’ll ever get honest answers.

If you have a real estate story, shoot me an e-mail. I’ll publish interesting ones.
