“Hatred” For Slick Willie

Christians are always being watched — by unbelievers, by fellow believers who are “shocked” by what some Christians do or say. Or blog. I don’t know what happened to our faith or our culture where telling the truth is called “hate.” I don’t hate Bill Clinton. That he is a disgraced, impeached former president is a true statement.

When Christ commands us to share the Gospel, he also wants us to tell the truth and call a thing what it is. Telling people exactly what I think of the national embarrassment that is Bill Clinton is no more un-Christian than shaking the dust off my feet and leaving the unrepentant in their sins. Their final, eternal judgment is in God’s hands, but Christians are not prohibited from calling sin sin and calling a sinner a sinner.

By the way, many unbelievers don’t know this, but hatred is not a sin. I’m sure you Bible-reading Christians know where to find the verses confirming that assertion. For the rest of you, perhaps your time would be better spent reading the Bible instead of reading my blog every day and complaining about what I write.

I’m responding in this closed post because it is not my intent to get into public arguments with other Christians. If you have a problem with what I blog and how I blog, the problem is solely yours, not mine. I suggest you pray about it, and if you’re convinced I’m in error, pray for me. But being chastised by people who don’t understand Scripture in the context of the whole Bible or haven’t even read it is more irritating than watching Slick Willie pose for 100 photo ops.

One more thing. Raising money for relief efforts is the least Clinton can do for the American people, so I have no problem with him helping with that. I just don’t want to see him grinning and preening in the White House.

Unrelated Addendum: I told several bloggers that I was doing a blog round-up post today, but it’s postponed until Monday.
