Interesting point you make there. I’m just sick of racism period, no matter which quarter it’s coming from. When are we going to turn that corner and hit the straight road? Any time soon?

Doug, I think bad insane ideas start with a few disgruntled individuals. No one can determine the quality of anyone’s character by looking at them, and it is the in-action of people of good will that allows the racists to flourish. I was just talking about ‘race’ and racism with someone last night who may be defined…think about that word…as indian, native American, and I asked him how he wants to be defined. He said, “American.”
And I said, “Me, too.” We were talking about the native Hawaiian movement, where some few Hawaiians want to be defined as a ‘tribe’ with their own tribal government. Do all bad insane ideas start with a few disgruntled individuals? My friend and I agreed that the “tribal” native Hawaiians were racist and absolutely wrong.

I was a Volunteer Fireman, and a paid Emergency Medical Technician, and no one we were helping cared about the color of our skins, and we didn’t care about the color of theirs. I guess racism is something some people think about when they have nothing better to do.

You know, just because you’re Christian doesn’t mean you have to correct everybody all the time. Jesus could be forceful at times (telling the Pharisees, “You are from your father the Devil,” for instance), but on other occasions he recognized the value of keeping his mouth shut (as when he was before Pontias Pilate when asked, “Are you a king?” and he replied, “You yourself are saying that I am”).

I would no more have said such a thing in a public locker room (if I’m understanding the context of the statement) than I would fly. Yes, I do believe the Bible teaches there is only one true religion, one “narrow path.” But you don’t have to correct all wrong ideas and misconceptions with such a cruel, tactless lump of information.

Did you hear about the black columnist in Austin, Texas complaining that all the items that people are giving are “too white”? There’s been tons of help given (mostly by churches) and all she can do is whine about what types of products there are. I hope she gets stranded somewhere.

“Blacks are complaining about white red cross volunteers”

All right I will say it. Mostly whites volunteer to help in the Red Cross. Now that it is mostly Blacks who they are helping some Black are complaining that they aren’t being allowed to help. These Blacks don’t want to help victims. They just want to help BLACK victims. There is only one thing to call people like that but nobody will.

They should be ashamed of themselves.

As a “Rich White Male” Anesthesiologist, caring for mostly Black patients in Shreveport, LA, I have never even heard of a Black patient asking for a Black doctor.

Why would it be any different for a Red Cross volunteer?

I don’t believe “real Black people” are this way.
This idiot was likely working for some grievance group, like the NAACP or the Nation of Islam.
