Liberals Love Black Folks…

in Race Preferences

…the way people love their pets. We don’t expect much in the way of intelligence from our canine friends, but they’re comforting companions, aren’t they? After a stressful day at work, we come home and stroke their furry heads, and they look up at us with gratitude in their big, brown eyes. Whenever liberals start rambling about “minority rights,” “oppression,” and skin-deep diversity, for a brief moment I’m reminded of such scenes. Kibbles and bits, indeed.

(Thanks for the tip, Mike.)

Some comic relief from The Therapist.

Addendum: I realize this post could also apply to big government Republicans like George Bush, but in general, the “conservative way” is to leave people alone and not provide them with a steady stream of excuses if they fail and pats on the head if they succeed (That’s a good Negro!).

That was hilarious (even though it was not meant to be)…
and TRUE!!!

I would say the biggest difference between the way liberals look at Black people and the way that a dog owner looks at their dog, is that you don’t manipulate dogs in an effort to achieve some sinister goal. What you see is pretty much what you get with dogs. Plus, dog owners sincerely love their dogs. I’ve never seen anyone pretend to kindly pat their dog on the head while harboring an elitist disdain for their dog.

Tom Bosee 09.26.05 at 10:40 am

La Shawn, this is another example of liberal bias.I’m sure liberals hate Secretary of State Dr. Condoleezza Rice because she’s smarter than they are, and doesn’t need their “help”!

mj 09.26.05 at 12:01 pm

In a class I was teaching full of students who’d been told to blame everything bad on earth (including their non-existent work ethic) on white people, I was describing a similar situation–how welfare treats human beings like doggies. They seemed to buy it for a second, but reverted back to the typical urban-think.

La Shawn:

The pet analogy could be applied to the MSM treatment of Black people in New Orleans.

Liberals cleaned up their mess and asked nothing in return -and got nothihg in return. Some didn’t even smile.

One volunteer in Shreveport quit when she saw an ad for help to clean bathrooms. She believed that the least these “evacuees”could do is clean their own bathrooms.

RepJ 09.26.05 at 1:58 pm

La Shawn, Great analogy! Sad, but true. I’m so glad that you and so many like you are getting past the liberal propaganda.

Frank, A construction guy set up a booth in the Astrodome for people to sign up for jobs to help rebuild New Orleans. No takers.

Democrats have owned African Americans since the 18th century. They’re both very used to the idea. Obviously liberals don’t take blacks seriously or else they wouldn’t let cartoonish caricatures like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton represent them. Being perennially poor is such a waste, and the liberals are doing as much as anyone to perpetuate it.

Mr. Grey Ghost 09.26.05 at 2:55 pm

I support affirmative action so I dont know how much I agree with the sentiments expressed in the article. However, the analogy you expressed Lashawn isn’t that far off from being true. It’s scary how much and how long Blacks have allowed liberals to use them.

Good piece. LaShawn I saw your article in Townhall.com WOW. I remember when . . . :-)

Keep up the good work!

Condi Rice has an impressive resume, with various advanced degrees, and a circle of friends in the highest seats of power.

None of this makes her neccessarily “smart.”

The provost at Stanford, clearly a moron.

redleg 09.26.05 at 7:54 pm

Then there were the stories of rape, murder and pillage in the Superdome and Convention Center that everyone believed. The media reported them as fact without doing a bit of fact-checking. To many of the liberal media, it probably fit in with their bias. It turns out that murders and a mass number of bodies can’t be verified. We simply had a bunch of people doing their best to survive an absolutely awful situation, to some extent made worse by media types who just couldn’t see past their racial stereotypes.

La Shawn -

That was very amusing and also very true.

The irony is that liberals claim to be promoting freedom of the individual, but they don’t see that their ideology and definitions enslave and label people by default. On the right, there is a much more rugged concept of “individuality” … you don’t have to be a “team player” and abide by the protocols of correctness to be respected for who you are.

RedBeard 09.27.05 at 8:46 am

The unwarranted and snide dig at Dr. Rice by Cobra was instructive, at least in helping to understand a certain negative mindset.

I’ve got to agree with #2 – I don’t ignore my dogs until it’s convenient to use them as mascots and I don’t live in communities with no dogs. I also don’t pretend to understand what my dogs think or feel and then say they’re not real dogs if they do something differently.

My sister attends UNC-W and left this comment on my blog:

Just FYI; the minority reception that this person wrote about was not only for African-American students. In fact, my friend Cara was honored at this reception because she is a non-traditional student even though she’s as Irish/Italian as can be, and many obviously caucasion, native american, and international students were as well. The diversity celebrated at this reception wasn’t about race, it was about different lifestyles and backgrounds. I can see how this article may have stemmed from a brief statement from the gentleman’s friend about how interesting it was to have our white chancellor present honors to black students.
Yeah, stubborn is probably the right word.

I don’t know if she’s sure it’s the same reception Mike Adams was talking about, but if it is, then Mike Adams’ gotcha wasn’t a gotcha at all. Of course, that doesn’t change the fact that liberals are incredibly condescending to black people, it just means their circle of condescension is widening.

Equal Rights...Duh! 09.27.05 at 6:43 pm

I too can’t believe how easy it was for liberals to own the black vote, and trick us into thinking that they understood our interests, or held it over our heads that they fought against conservatives during the civil rights movement. What did they ever do that deserves such a self-congratulatory tone they take today? That UNC-W Chancellor Rosemary DePaolo might as well be another George Wallace! The truth is no minority ever needed a liberal’s help to gain basic rights or opportunities for themselves. In time, that same minority would have gained the same rights and opportunities anyway. I can’t believe that so many Blacks ever called themselves liberal, or bought into that whole welfare state entitlement idea, or never lifted a finger to create anything more of their lives than what the government gave them. How debilitating and what a waste! The truth is any free-thinking person can get a university education and raise a family with nothing more to start with than what they came with or inherited. Now we’ve got handouts again down in NOLA. Everybody gets a free mobile home?! Just give them a voucher and forget about rebuilding that death trap!

La Shawn 09.27.05 at 6:46 pm

It’s something that boggles my mind every day, my friend. People in a free country content with living on government scraps, sapped of incentive instead of forging their own way and creating something of value in the world. What white liberals have done to a significant portion of black America waging the so-called War of Poverty ought to be criminal.

conservblack 09.27.05 at 7:32 pm

La Shawn,

I am tired of blacks letting themselves to be used by liberals. When you have Good Time Charlie Rangel (D-NY) call Bush the new “Bull Connor” without any calls for retraction or apology. No GOP members really go out publicly to refute such nonsense. All someone has to say, “I wonder if Bush is Bull Connor, is Mayor Nagin Lester Maddox and is Gov Blanco Gov George Wallace? I have posted about it today.

RedBeard 09.27.05 at 8:30 pm

Often I hear liberals ranting about how black conservatives have become tools of the right, or some such nonsense. Talk about oxymoronic statements. What seems to completely escape these liberals is that they, not conservatives, are the ones requiring obedience and dependency from minorities, and that conservatives are the ones supporting independence.

Well, I guess you succinctly put me in my place, DS. That cancels out everything I or anyone else ever wrote or said against able-bodied bums waiting on first-of-the-month checks for making more black babies who’ll grow up with no fathers. You’re a class act. ;)

Businesses that create jobs for hundreds of thousands and also accept government contracts vs. lazy, shiftless individuals perpetuating yet another generation of lazy, shiftless individuals sitting at home while people who work for a living buy their beer and cigarettes.

DC ghetto-ites probably love you.

RedBeard 09.27.05 at 9:05 pm

Halliburton is in New Orleans to help get the place back on its feet. Evil bastards. ;-)

LaShawn and RedBeard;
Way funny on 26 and 27…..:)

You do not know how many times I have been congratulated (or told how proud of me said STRANGER was) for not having a child out of wedlock or for doing something else that I’m SUPPOSED to do!

It is a real trip! But, what’s funny is the looks on their faces when I tell them that 99% of my girlfriends are just like me: educated, ambitious, and committed to not having children out of wedlock. I don’t know if the expressions (before they mask themselves) are of shock, fear, or cognitive dissonance… maybe all. Whatever it is, it’s amusing to me, LoL.
