Frustrated by the complete ‘The Vietnamization of Iraq‘ and inspired by the "George Santayana" ignorance of the Democratic response to Bush’s speech today, yours truly took it upon himself to conjure up the parody book cover below and to the left.

Annapolis, MD – Speaking to an audience of students and faculty at the U.S. Naval Academy, George Bush re-emphasized that we are engaged in a war with a fanatical death cult who would interpret a cut-n-run policy as an invitation to bring their brand of politicizing to the U.S. With historical precedent on his side, the Command in Chief outlined a three part strategy for a successful conclusion to our presence in Iraq that included:

  • a political component in which coalition forces would help Iraq build a free and democratic society;
  • a security piece in which coalition troops would train Iraqi security forces well enough to guard their new found freedoms; and
  • an economic element, a free market economy which will reward productivity while offering individuals a sense of personal destiny.

Military Strategy for Pinheads

Frustrated by the lack of a Bush apology, Senator John F. Kerry went on the offensive to effect a semantic change to Murtha’s call for an immediate redeployment of U.S. troops from Iraq by replacing the phrase "deadline for withdrawal" with "timetable for success."

In a sound bite reminiscent of Richard Nixon’s "Peace with Honor" speech, Senator Hillary Clinton took Mr. Kerry’s word-games one step further when she demanded the President "present us with a plan for finishing this war with success and honor."

Ignoring the advice of fellow Democrat Joe Lieberman, Nancy Pelosi suggested the American people prefer we follow John Murtha’s call to remove U.S. Troops at "earliest possible date."

December 12, 2005: If you Tookie Googlers are looking for the latest info on the quadruple murderer, here it is.

Update from LB (12/2): Bilges writes:

I’ve personally tended to ignore the capital punishment debate, considering it a well-settled issue morally, practically, and politically. By intentionally killing another person you forfeit your right to live, end of story.

————————————————————————————————

Hey all! Hube here from The Colossus of Rhodey. Many thanks go to La Shawn for allowing me to guest blog while she’s away!

Via Joanne Jacobs comes word of a “Tookie Teach-In” at Oakland’s Street Academy High School:

Stefanie Faucher stood inside a classroom at Oakland’s Street Academy High School last Thursday and asked a class of about thirty teenagers, “Do you want to help Tookie Williams live?”

The students nodded and shouted in agreement. Most had just watched a video about the former Crips leader, convicted of murdering four people in 1979. Williams has since apologized for his role in spreading gang violence and written several children’s books condemning his old lifestyle. “Heck yeah,” one student yelled out. “Free Tookie.”

“Good,” said Faucher, projects director for the grassroots group Death Penalty Focus. “Because if the governor does not grant Tookie Williams clemency, he will be executed on December 13.”

Ah, nothing like a balanced discussion of capital punishment in a contemporary American classroom, eh? But then again, the room’s decorations weren’t exactly idelogically neutral:

A portrait of Che Guevara hung next to a sign that read “Dare to Dream.” Another poster suggested, “Honor Dr. King. Defend Mumia Abu-Jamal.” A massive painting of the African continent was slung just beneath Cesar Chavez, who was near Malcolm X.

Indeed — American icons: Martin Luther King Jr. and … Mumia Abu-Jamal?? Uh-huh.

Ms. Faucher offered up this whopper to the enthralled class as well:

“There is actually little evidence to suggest Tookie Williams was actually guilty of the crimes he’s accused of. He was convicted by virtually an all-white jury. So what do we think of the criminal justice system?”

Those nasty whities! Of course Tookie was found guilty, right? So what do we say to that, class? “BOOOOOOOO!”

But come on, Ms. Faucher — if even the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals declared that Tookie got a fair trail, you know that you’re arguing a lost cause in this case now, don’tcha?

No word on if there was a speaker to counter Ms. Faucher. Like maybe some of Tookie’s victims’ relatives? But again, this was an American public school classroom — whose prospective teachers are now being assessed on their ideological “dispositions.”

FALLACI!

by Pamela on 11.30.05

in When I find time...

The Goddess La Shawn has invited me to Guest blog. And so I give her the best FALLACI!

“I leave shreds of my soul on every experience.”Oriana Fallaci

I went to see Oriana Fallaci this evening in what will most likely be her last speech. She is dying from cancer. No photos allowed. And while she could not have been more then 85 lbs, she railed away at Radical Islamofascim, the treasonous left and the impotent right as if she was taking on Goliath.

Oriana Fallaci – author of the powerful Man and Letter to a Child Never Born has a fatwa calling for her death and  is being sued by the Muslim Union of Italy for her book The Force of Reason.  Consequently an Italian judge ordered her to stand trial in Bergamo on charges of “defaming Islam.” From Prophet of Decline, WSJ hat tip: Susan D esq.

Oriana Fallaci faces jail. In her mid-70s, stricken with a cancer that, for the moment, permits only the consumption of liquids -one of the most renowned journalists of the modern era has been indicted by a judge in her native Italy under provisions of the Italian Penal Code which proscribe the “vilipendio” or “vilification” of “any religion admitted by the state.”

In her case, the religion deemed vilified is Islam, and the vilification was perpetrated, apparently, in a book she wrote last year — and which has sold many more than a million copies all over Europe — called “The Force of Reason.” Its astringent thesis is that the Old Continent is on the
verge of becoming a dominion of Islam, and that the people of the West have surrendered themselves fecklessly to the “sons of Allah.” So, in a nutshell, Oriana Fallaci faces up to two years’ imprisonment for her beliefs — which is one reason why she has chosen to stay put in New York. Let us give thanks for the First Amendment.

Ms. Fallaci speaks in a passionate growl:“Europe is no longer Europe, it is ‘Eurabia,’ a colony of Islam, where the Islamic invasion does not proceed only in a physical sense, but also in a mental and cultural sense. Servility to the invaders has poisoned democracy, with obvious consequences for the freedom of thought, and for the concept itself of liberty.”

It has been nothing less than ridiculous to hear continued debate over parental notification laws! Regarding the current US Supreme Court case of Ayotte v. Planned Parenthood, the state of New Hampshire’s Parental Notification Prior to Abortion Act was found to be “unconstitutional” by lower courts. First let’s review this entire act:

NH: Parental Notification Prior to Abortion

132:25 Notification Required. –

I. No abortion shall be performed upon an unemancipated minor or upon a female for whom a guardian or conservator has been appointed pursuant to RSA 464-A because of a finding of incompetency, until at least 48 hours after written notice of the pending abortion has been delivered in the manner specified in paragraphs II and III.

II. The written notice shall be addressed to the parent at the usual place of abode of the parent and delivered personally to the parent by the physician or an agent.

III. In lieu of the delivery required by paragraph II, notice shall be made by certified mail addressed to the parent at the usual place of abode of the parent with return receipt requested and with restricted delivery to the addressee, which means the postal employee shall only deliver the mail to the authorized addressee. Time of delivery shall be deemed to occur at 12 o’clock noon on the next day on which regular mail delivery takes place, subsequent to mailing.

Keep in mind that in the state of New Hampshire a minor cannot even get a SUNTAN WITHOUT PARENTAL CONSENT! With the Abortion Notification Act, it is only required that a parent be NOTIFIED before their grandchild is killed in their own minor child’s womb! It does not even require parental consent! Rather than allow grandparents to be notified that their grandchild is about to die, some would rather keep it concealed! Their claim is that “the life of the mother” could be in danger!

I find this “life of the mother” cry to be very ironic! Given we don’t require that other laws include an “except when a life is in danger” clause! For example, states’ laws against murder do not include an “except when your life is in danger, then you can kill” clause! States’ laws against stealing do not include an “except when you must commandeer property to save lives in disaster” clause! Because it is understood and established by other legal precedent, that exceptions to law can be made when other life is in danger. So in the case of killing a baby it is obvious that when a mother’s life is in danger exceptions would be made to existing laws. There is no need to document this fact and never has been with other laws!

Therefore, the US Supreme Court would have done well to show this nation some good common sense, by giving each side 2 minutes to speak, then wrapping this case up one minute after that! And within the 5th minute saying that of course the NH law makes sense, is Constitutional and send everybody home!

When it comes to the matter of abortion baby killing, I totally agree with Jesse Jackson! That is, I agree with the Jesse Jackson of 1977! The one that said the following:

Only the name has changed
In the abortion debate one of the crucial questions is when does life begin. Anything growing is living. Therefore human life begins when the sperm and egg join and drop into the fallopian tube and the pulsation of life take place. From that point, life may be described differently (as an egg, embryo, fetus, baby, child, teenager, adult), but the essence is the same. The name has changed but the game remains the same.

Human beings cannot give or create life by themselves, it is really a gift from God. Therefore, one does not have the right to take away (through abortion) that which he does not have the ability to give.
(source)

Of course we know that he has since changed his tune. And I totally disagree with the Jesse Jackson of now. Today’s Jesse Jackson is not part of “One Nation Under God”. He is a man who lives under whatever man’s laws dictate, as he said himself:

JACKSON: We live under a Constitution, not under a bible, under the Constitution.
(source)

You know the old saying “your first answer is probably the right one”. Jesse got it right the first time. And he’s been wrong ever since! Killing innocent babies that never were tried and convicted of any crime is just insane! And all men live under the laws of God, whether some admit it or not!

The Independent Conservative thanks La Shawn Barber for this opportunity!

Kamau Kambon: Well, What Had Happened Was…

November 23, 2005

Remember the story about the black professor, “a quiet, well-studied apolitical man,” who said that whites should be exterminated (video)? (Right!) Media coverage was scant. After all, why should we care about the ramblings of a “powerless” black man when the white power structure murders and imprisons “African Americans” every day? (Sarcasm off)

Torture Is Good

Torture — Infliction of severe physical pain as a means of punishment or coercion. Actually, real torture is awful. I just wanted to be provocative. Wal-Mart Construction Site Sting

November 19, 2005

I love it when the government does its job. Last Thursday federal agents arrested over 100 mostly Mexican illegal aliens working at a Wal-Mart construction site. In an effort to weasel out, Wal-Mart claims it isn’t responsible because the illegal aliens were hired by a subcontractor. We’d probably buy it if 250+ illegal aliens hadn’t [...]
