Wow. I feel like I should clear my throat or something and step up to a microphone. Ahem. I want to welcome all of you who entered my blog through La Shawn Barber’s Corner. What a nice compliment she gave me. If you like my design, I sincerely hope you’ll click through the link to E. Webscapes and look at Lisa Sabin’s portfolio. I take absolutely no credit at all for her design work. I sent her my ideas in words, and she turned them into color and graphics. Simple as that. She’s one talented artist and has given me a wonderful place to express my voice in the blogosphere. (Thanks, Lisa!)

I'm waiting to see the finalist lists before I decide who I'm going to vote for in each category, but I think I'm going to go with Michael Yon for both Best Blog and Best Milblog.

Based on the quality of Yon's reporting (both his words and photos) from Iraq this year, I think he may be the most important blogger of the past year, period. Truly mind-blowing stuff.

That's just my opinion, of course. It's really great that we get a chance to honor the bloggers we read like this.

3 cheers for Captain Ed. Those of us in Canada owe him a huge debt of gratitude for keeping us up to date during those particular weeks of Adscam.

There is real power in blogging.

You forgot about the best legal blog.

I found your blog last year in this contest. When I went to vote for Right Thinking, and checked out your blog. Been a fan ever since. Keep up the good work.

There is a little blog you may have heard of that deserves the Best Blog award. It is called La Shawn Barber's Corner. Check it out.

To move off-topic: I'm still holding out hope for a Rice/Barber ticket in '08.

OK. Here's the deal: I regularly (nearly daily) check about ten blogs. La Shawn is first, then Michelle, Lucianne, LGF, Captain's Quarters, Powerline, Tim Blair, Lileks, Fiordman and Drudge.

However, all of these wonderful folks link me hither and yon to a wide variety interesting and thought provoking sites.
