Cobra: say that an eventual preponderance of the evidence agrees that the suspect didn’t say “bomb,” as some passengers on the plane are now claiming. What then?

Of course, if he actually had HAD a bomb, and the marshals did NOT shoot him had they the chance, you’d be the first to complain that “Bush hasn’t done a damn thing to improve homeland security.”

I feel very sorry for the people on the front lines like air marshals. No matter what they do, they’re screwed.

I can’t wait till the REAL story about this shooting comes out. I have a feeling that just like the incident in the London Subway, the FIRST account from law enforcement isn’t the most accurate.

Miss Barber was wise to suspect that the left would make hay of this, but I would like to see a critical analysis from the *real* right.

The closest that I’ve heard recently was Representative Dana Rohrabacher (R-Calif. — a true conservative and one we ought to all admire) questioning the extension of the PATRIOT Act, saying that if we allow ourselves to devolve into a police state to combat terrorism, the terrorists have won.

The incident in Miami gives a sad, tangible meaning to Rohrabacher’s words.

Another fact of life – unpleasant but true.

Years ago, I made some comment to an airport security person – innocently – abotu “hijacking”.

WOW. You would think I broke the law. But this man was very polite – he reminded me NEVER to even discuss such things with security peoronell -they are “wound tight” – “hypersensitive” to any remote suggestion of terrorism.

Sorry, I have no pity for him. You do NOT go into an airport and say “I have a bomb”. Regardless of his questionable (to me, psychiatry is questionable) mental state.

He got what he deserved. You can NOT wait for proof or ask for Medical Records in a case like this.

You are funny (meaning your tongue in cheeck comments but then they are funny because they are truth).

On a serious note, as usual the real terrorist will sit back and watch how we act a fool over this incident and then make note of what law we change so this won’t happen again (yet we know it will happen again) and then mark that in their play book so they can use it later.
