What’s that old saying? The squeaky wheel gets the most…scrutiny…or something like that.
Some of you may be wondering why I always pick on groups like the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) and NAACP. They turn the spotlight on themselves with their useless whining and complaining, pointing fingers at others while they do little more than organize fancy dinners for their limousine liberal friends.
The CBC, which railed the loudest against the federal government, President Bush in particular, for its “slow” response to help the black victims of Hurricane Katrina, hasn’t given away any of the money purportedly raised to help the evacuees. From CNSNews:
The [Congressional Black Caucus Foundation] CBCF then launched its own relief fund on Sept. 21, with a stated goal of raising $1 million to help Gulf Coast residents rebuild their lives. As Cybercast News Service previously reported, the CBCF claimed immediate success, telling reporters on Sept. 21 that it had already received $700,000 in corporate pledges.
But on Wednesday, exactly three months after the news conference launching the CBCF relief fund, Rice told Cybercast News Service that the Foundation has actually raised “somewhere in the neighborhood of $350 to $400,000.” She added that the distribution of the money would not begin until January or February of 2006 at the earliest. Why the delay? Don’t be surprised to hear about some lavish, impromptu New Year’s Eve “charity” bash. But you didn’t hear that from me. Meanwhile, evacuees will be in hotels for the holidays.

Do you have any concept of how much overhead is involved in giving the money away? They must bring people in to discuss the issues. They must travel about to see how other groups have spent their money. All this involves first class air fare, limos, dry cleaning, meals, tips and entertainment.
Not the least of the costs is paying a celebrity to appear in TV ads to tell the world how wonderful the project is.
Finally, there is the congratulatory banquet for all the hard workers where it is announced that more money is needed to cover the administrative expenses.
Pimping is a high cost business.

I think #2 is so very right. I have been wondering all along how much of the money raised by the Congressional Black Caucus will actually get to Katrina victims. By the way, are they going to distribute the money based on race?

The trouble with speaking quickly
They have no idea what they’re going to do with the money, but they keep accepting more after assailing the government with a barrage of “too slow” and “racist” complaints. Seems to me that at this point, the government is far ahead of the CBC.

This is unbelievable. Where is this in the MSM? It doesn’t shock me that the CBC did this, and that is a shame. One thing about liberals that always holds true: Whenever they accuse a conservative of something, usually the conservative didn’t do it, and they are the ones engaging in it.
Think about it.. Hurricane Katrina.. As you said, the CBC are not helping the victims in a ‘timely’ manner as they accused Bush of, except Bush is innocent.
It begs the question: Is being a Liberal truly a mental disorder? What is that psychotic condition called when you mirror your psychosis on someone else?

It’s All Bush’s Fault. George W. Bush don’t like Black People!!!!
On a serious note, this is the kind of BS that gives the CBC their reputation. All Talk, No Action…..
And they wonder why their 15 minutes is up.

Color isn’t really relevant in regard to the CBC, except in terms of color being used as a convenient excuse for yet another leftist cadre. Leftism is the glue that holds this group together, not race.
And as such the CBC acts exactly like all the other little leftist pressure groups (ACLU, MoveOn, NOW, NARAL, etc.) with hypocrisy being the bellwether by which we can easily identify them.
