May all the readers of La Shawn’s blog have a wonderful Christmas!

I was listening to XM 106 on the way home tonight, and heard “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen” done beautifully by a choral group. As an agnostic who hopes against hope that Christianity is the real deal, I was quite taken by the familiar lyrics, as if I had not heard them a thousand times before.

God rest ye merry, gentlemen, let nothing you dismay,
Remember Christ our Savior was born on Christmas Day;
To save us all from Satanâ€™s power when we were gone astray.

O tidings of comfort and joy, comfort and joy;

In Bethlehem, in Israel, this blessÃ¨d Babe was born,
And laid within a manger upon this blessÃ¨d morn;
