The issue, he said, was what he considered an “unfunded mandate” in the bill, which would require employers to verify the legal status of all existing employees, with no provision to fund such a huge task.

"...verify the legal status of all existing employees..."

I'm pretty sure this is already a 'law'- and I'm thinking that the Feds could perhaps maybe possibly consider enforcing it once in a while?

I'm not sure it really makes a difference who is selected since it appears that keeping the republican reps in line is like the cliched herding cats. Hopefully John Shadegg is sincere and not just saying what he thinks people want to hear and will not become co-opted should he get the post.

These guys are way ahead of the MSM; they understand the power of the blog and they may even be beginning to figure out that they can not spin their way around the blogosphere using a table spoon and a forked tongue.

Chalk one up for the a return to direct representation.

Blunt is rather busy, yes - but he's busy trying to win his race. He could've taken a few more questions, considering that Congress is out of session today.

Roy Blunt: Just Vote No

As part of his campaign for the House GOP majority leadership, Congressman Roy Blunt published a very disingenuous op-ed in the WSJ today, in which he claimed that:As readers of this page know all too well, excessive government regulation, taxation
