Here are a couple of things I find interesting:

Those cartoons were originally published last September and nobody said anything. Shortly thereafter they were published in EGYPT and nobody said anything. All of a sudden muslims are offended, rioting and killing all over the world. Anybody ever ask why? Well, the reason is that it's a put up job. A couple of Danish imams took the cartoons plus a few really bad ones they made up, went on a trip and instigated the whole thing. Who knows what they're trying to prove. One thing it proves to me is muslims are very easily led.

Another thing. Musllims are now saying their law not only forbids publishing likenesses of Mohammad but of all humans and animals. So should we stop that also? After all we don't want to offend any muslims. Point is, should non-muslims be compelled to follow muslim law for fear of offending? Or just for fear?

Muslim double standard. They publish daily the most vile filthy cartoons you've ever seen about Jews. If they want others to respect their religion, they need to do the same.

"Is this “sanctimonious Christians” comment directed toward me, by any chance? - Admin"

Comment by Joe Peden — 02.24.06

No way, I'm talking about the extreme "turn the other cheek" Christians who do not recognize that the Islamofascists want to kill them and erase their whole religion, and rationalize their inaction by claiming some moral superiority attached to their lack of self defense, ending in their death. Imo, they are the same as the appeaser/surrenderist Liberals who wish to "tolerate" or "understand" the evil Islamofascists, gaining a false sense of their own moral worth by not defending themselves, while criticizing those who do defend them as though these defenders are the immoral ones. I say that both groups are thus sactimonious and also seem to worship death as the ultimate validator of their values.

I'm really sorry for the confusion. I was actually trying to not get personal [if the shoe fits, wear it], leaving me open for misinterpretation - though after I posted, it actually did cross my mind that you might think it was meant for you, given that it's your blog, and so you might be the most sensitive to my vaguely referenced comment. But you are definitly not sanctimonious! Again, I'm sorry. It was my fault.

Because a lot of Middle Eastern governments are feeling the pressure from radical Islamist groups that claims the governments are too pro-west for Muslims to accept, the cartoons gave them the perfect opportunity to demonstrate that they still support Islam, and of course the fact that they thought it would be easy to bully a small country like Denmark, and if they could get Denmark to compromise their freedom of speech it would be a great first step for those who wants to enforce Islamic laws in Europe and the US.

Mark,
I have asked that same question. The reason is not that depicting Mohammed upsets them it is the messege of the cartoons. Which in itself tells alot about the Islamic idea of tolerence and free speech ..
La Shawn,
Since it seems I pushed Ms. Rainlillie over the line let me apoligize. I really meant to point out why I felt her arguements were misplaced. I didn't mean for it to degenerate into an unacceptable post war

Every religion has their nuts! You know like the crazy Christians that run around blowing up abortion clinics. . . Simply because they don't agree with a LEGAL procedure. Or the Crazy Christians who believe that Sponge Bob is promoting the gay 'lifestyle." It seems both groups have problems with cartoons. How about the crazy Christians who stage protest outside of the funerals for our troops. So being an extremist isn't limited to the Muslim religion. I have total faith in God, therefore I don't feel the need to run around and try to do his job for him. If having an abortion or being gay is wrong , I believe that the person will pay at the end of their life.
The only difference between Muslim extremist and Christian extremist is the Muslim extremist have killed more people. Both groups believe in forcing their beliefs on others. Both believe that women shouldn't have control over their reproductive rights, and both use religion to create division. You have a nice day too.

Now you're going too far with the "crazy Christians" bit. Keep in mind that you're commenting on a Christian's blog, so ease up on the ad hominem. By the way, I believe a woman's reproductive "rights" begin when she decides to have sex, knowing where it may lead, and ends when she's pregnant. At that point, a greater protection attaches to the unborn life inside her body. - Admin

Ms. Rainlillie,
Interesting that you seem to think you know my opinions...so tell me my opinion of your comments concerning the intolerence of Americans and non-muslims?
You point out that tolerence is working and living together PEACEFULLY with those that are different then you...I may be off base but beheding journalists, beheading christian schoolgirls, homicide bombings...the list goes on and on..to me that doesn't seem to be peaceful at all.
The fact is that proper or not the Danish newspaper had an absolute right to publish those cartoons, but the Iman's did not have a right to put a bounty on their heads. And hackers do not have a right to hack websites just because they do not agree with the author.
And as far as the Abu Graib pictures I had no problem with them being published..again the paper had the right to publish them. And as far as the cartoons...a clue it is called political cartooning because it exposes a certain political opinion.
Now to put this as nicely as possible. I respect your right to express your opinion and I promise I won't go out rioting or beheading liberal schoolgirls just because I disagree with it. Oh and Have A Nice Day:)

Most intelligent people embrace tolerance! It's about living together peacefully with people who may look different than you, worship different than you and speak different than you do.

As far as the Muslims rioting over the cartoon, I don't think it's ridiculous at all. I don't agree with the violence, but I certainly agree with their right to speak out.

Americans and non Muslims have show the highest degree of ignorance when it comes to the protest.

It's not the cartoon, it's the fact that the newspaper violated the sanctity of the Muslim religion by doing something that their religion forbids.

I bet you were one of the people who didn't want the pictures of the abuse at Abugraib to be shown throughout the Muslim world, yet you support a cartoon that has disrespected the teachings of Islam.

Rainlillie,
pardon my french but Tolerance is BS. You expect everyone to be accepted regardless of their actions. In civilized society every person has to be held to an equal standard of conduct. This is true regardless of any mitigating factors.
Just because one is black does not mean committing crimes ia an acceptable action, even if one is poor, uneducated..etc.
Just because one was abused as a child does not make being a pedophile okay.
Just because one is muslim does not make killing innocents or rioting okay.
On the subject of Ms. Malkin and her books..I am assuming (since that is the one you bring up) that you read her book on the internment camps. I don't completely agree with all her reasoning but I found it to be well thought out and has a solid basis in historical fact. I have read other books by her and enjoyed them. I also have read books by Sean Hannity, Alan Colmes, Al Frankin and "GASP!" even Ann Coulter. I have enjoyed them all with the possible exception of Al Franken. Does that mean I agree with everything they write...no but I learn a little from each one.
I am curious on one of your comments..you feel Ms. Malkin is self loathing? Based on what? Because you don't agree with her opinions?
And I find it funny that you bring up people who make a living off of the divisons in this country.. I personally find people like Jesse Jackson, Louis Farakan and Al Sharpton to be more in that caliber yet I see you don't mention them.

And one last point concerning the cartoons...Muslims now claim that it is blasphmy to copy the likeness of the prophet mohhamed..yet there are many picturse of him throughtout the history of islam..Do they mean it is blasphmy for infidels to copy his image...that can't be right since infidels do not follow the laws of sharia especially in their own countries

Go to the library, and read up on the Japanese invasion and occupation of the Phillipines.
