First, all glory and huzzas to Andi for her brilliant idea to hold the conference and all her hard work for pulling it together in such a spectacular way. You ROCK!

LaShawn Barber, Heidi from Euphoric Reality and Laurie from Soldiers’ Angels New York liveblogged it and have some of the best recaps of the events and discussions. The Gun Nutt has a great recap, as well….like a freakin’ transcript!

The Milblog Conference

Okay, I've got a lot say about the MilBlog conference this weekend. It's going to take a bit to get something put together - however, I'll say that I was extremely impressed by all of the bloggers in attendence. A

Andi did a superlative job with the organization - she really is top-notch. We were so hasty in getting up all the transcripts of the Liveblogging and the photos, that we didn’t link to some of the other Livebloggers right away. There was LaShawn Barber, Chris from Two Babes and a Brain, Holly from Soldier’s Angels, and GunnNutt ...

Great coverage! I was there and I was just trying to absorb the experience, I don't know *how* you managed to get all this down while trying to listen too! I don't think we formally met but I think we had an informal talk in the restroom. That is the only thing the conference lacked, I thought, not enough time to just meet and talk. Pubs are just too noisy.

Thanks, La Shawn, for being our eyes and ears at the conference-I think that somehow, the liberal nay saying will be derailed, and the truth about the successes in Iraq will come out. Milbloggers are part of the process making this happen. I hope that the Democrats realize soon that soldiers vote, military families vote, and those whom they see as impeding the war effort will not be supported in the election.
In our church we remember to lift up the military in prayer.

You have the makings of a fine After Action Review, here. Thanks. An AAR is a time honored military scab picking session ostensibly for the purpose of identifying problems and lessons learned so as to do better on the next iteration. I hope this becomes an annual event, and if it does, next year will be even better, in part because of you. Thanks.

This was great. Like a true pajamahadeen, I participated from my living room, barefoot. The video feed and chat room set up made my participation possible. Lots of people worked hard to pull this off. In such an endeavor, where outstanding meritorious service was so abundantly displayed, comparisons are invidious, however Andi's performance reflects great credit upon herself, her blog, and the military arc of the blogosphere. Greyhawk and Mrs. Greyhawk ran the chat room, which added a whole 'nother dimension to my experience of the event.
