Tuesday, August 22: At first I thought it was a fluke. Every group has its set of deranged fringe members. But I’ve concluded, in my almost-three years of blogging, that homosexual trolls and “straight” trolls who read certain blogs are the absolute nastiest I’ve ever encountered. Worse than the angriest and most militant black liberals, and more odious than any malodorous bigoted white liberal trying to slip through under the cover of Internet pseudo-boldness and anonymity.
Congratulations.
Stick around. I have several “offensive” posts to publish next week.
Monday, August 21: From a commenter:
Just read the ridiculous post at the Malcontent regarding this matter and thought I would share my comment with you:
“Yeah, well, I’m gay and I don’t get the leap you make between what she said and HATESPEECH HOMOPHOBIA PANIC BAD CONSERVO!! at all. So she said he looked like a homo-pedo…That’s the same thing I thought! I gandered at him and 1st thing I thought was “that dude looks like such a QUEEN!†Oooowwwww…must be my “internal homophobia†talking! Gimme a break; Any time someone says “homo†in a context you dislike it does not make them flaming homophobe monsters. I am vastly more concerned with the homophobia of Islam and the impotence of the Democrats in taking it seriously then I am in LaShawn noting the obvious…â€
Not all us gay guys are so freakin’ PC and idiotic LaShawn, I promise!!

Sunday, August 20: Bangkok doctor says Karr was a patient at a sex-change clinic.
Saturday, August 19: Grasping at straws.
Later…Says columnist Bill Johnson: “John Mark Karr as much killed JonBenet Ramsey as Mickey Mouse did.”
Johnson wrote the column I would have written had I been quicker on the draw.
Friday, August 18 (evening): Ranting bloggers could learn a thing or two from fellow conservative Juliette at Baldilocks. She read this post and formed an opinion of my remarks in context and accurately represented what I wrote. For those who may be confused about what’s going on, here’s what I wrote in this post on Wednesday that offended homosexual bloggers:
I’m watching an AP video of this freak, and he seems more like a homosexual pedophile to me.
That’s it. That one sentence out of this long post is raising people’s blood pressure.
Juliette’s response:
So now, some homosexuals are saying that La Shawn made a slur against homosexuals, that she asserted that all homosexuals are pedophiles. Did she say that? Let’s check it out. If La Shawn thought that all homosexuals were pedophiles, then why would she have bothered to use the word ‘pedophile?’ After all, a person who thought that all homosexuals leaned that way would have assumed that ‘pedophile’ automatically fell under the larger umbrella of ‘homosexual,’ which would have made the phrase ‘homosexual pedophile’ redundant. (And a careful writer like La Shawn would not have made that mistake.) Are some people looking to find offense in La Shawn’s words? Yes, but finding offense when none is offered isn’t a trait exclusive to homosexuals.
Juliette is saying explicitly what is implicit in this post. I felt no need to explain or defend myself because no reasonable person would conclude that I said all homosexuals were pedophiles. As I’m typing this, I’m laughing at the utter silliness of it all. But this nonsense comes with being plainspoken, outspoken, politically incorrect, and unafraid to express my opinion.
No one — and I don’t care who you are — will ever intimidate me into policing my speech or toning down my views. If that makes you angry, I advise you to stop reading this blog and never darken my URL again. You’ll live longer.
Friday, August 18 (morning): Here we go again! Whenever I write the word “homosexual” on this blog, whatever the context, certain homosexual bloggers get their knickers in a wad. Well, free speech means I can write what I want on this blog (ever mindful of libel, of course), and homosexuals can disagree with what I write on this blog. One pleasant consequence: homosexual bloggers link, traffic increases, and link count rises. Thanks for the Friday treat, boys.
Certain homosexual bloggers are offended that I said John Karr, the man who says he killed JonBenet Ramsey, seemed more like a homosexual pedophile than a hetero. And that offended homosexuals. Good grief.
The fact that Karr’s actually a heterosexual pedophile doesn’t offend my heterosexual sensibilities at all. But since some people wear their sexual proclivities on their sleeves and believe everyone else must prostrate themselves before some arbitrary and ever-changing speech code, it’s to be expected. But in the spirit of “civil rights” for all — as opposed to special rights for some — I’ll accept comments and trackbacks from anyone, no matter who or what they sleep with, as long as the comments and posts are free of personal insults. If you post a comment but don’t see it, you’ll know why.
As an aside, I really don’t care who you sleep with. I find the whole subject boring as h*ll.
Later…For those too eager to get on the board before finding out whose board this is, read the About page, and make a note of my sex.

Did Karr confess to avoid prison in Thailand? Theories.
Right Wing News: Killer or Kook?
Peak Talk: Case Closed?
————————————————————
A person suspected of killing JonBenet Ramsey (”possible suspect”) was arrested in Bangkok, Thailand.
Six-year-old JonBenet was murdered in 1996. Some people, including me, suspected that her mother, the late Patsy Ramsey, was involved with the killing. I’ll hold off making a statement until I get more info.
Update (5:37 p.m.): FOX News and other sources say that John Karr is a 41-year-old former second-grade teacher who’s been living overseas for the past few years. He’s being held in Bangkok on sex-related charges. Sources say Karr confessed to details of the crime unknown to the public. FOX said he’d been writing e-mails with details about the case to Patsy Ramsey. Statement from John Ramsey.
Blogosphere coverage: Hot Air, Outside the Beltway, Mary Katharine Ham…
Update II (8/17 @ 9:00 a.m.): This freak says he did it. Killing her was an “accident.” This is all very strange. I followed the case years ago and came to conclusions based on the evidence.
In recent years, there were reports that foreign male DNA had been found on JonBenet’s underwear. (CBS) According to the story, it was blood, but a reader who followed the case e-mailed to say it was saliva found on the underwear, not blood, and the DNA was degraded to the point it could have been left there months before the murder.
He says a lot more, but I need to verify it.
I’m blogging about the arrest on this very public blog because it’s big news, and I’ve blogged about my suspicions toward Pasty Ramsey at least twice. I don’t feel “bad” about what I’ve written or ashamed that I suspected Patsy. I hate that the whole thing happened.
Karr confessed, and if his DNA matches whatever DNA was found at the crime scene, then that’s it. I’m not the Ramsey family’s judge and jury. I’m in the court of public opinion, and based on what I knew about the case, guilt pointed toward the mother. If it turns out the Bangkok freak actually murdered the child, that means my speculations were wrong. But I don’t regret making those speculations.
The Boulder DA will hold a press conference today at Noon. I’ll live-blog it.
Later…I’m watching an AP video of this freak, and he seems more like a homosexual pedophile to me. According to this story, Karr was married with children.
According to this story, the suspect’s ex-wife says he was with her in Alabama at the time of JonBenet’s murder. You know, it’s pretty easy to determine where someone was on significant dates like Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. Investigators will determine his whereabouts at the time of the murder, regardless of what he says, fairly quickly.
Good grief. Freaky is as freaky does…More weirdness: Karr’s father thought he was dead. As I recall what I learned about the case — the complicated layout of the Ramsey’s house in Boulder (had Karr been there before?), scant evidence of a break-in the night of the murder, the strange three-page ransom note — my skepticism that Karr (who suddenly copped to the crime after 10 years) is the murderer remains. DNA is the key. We’ll just have to wait and see.
11:30 a.m.: Watching FOX News. Karr says he drugged and had intercourse with the child, although tox reports didn’t reveal drugs in her system. An examiner said there was evidence of some sort of abuse but didn’t indicate rape.
Cyril Wecht, high-profile forensic pathologist who’s followed the case, says there was no evidence of penile penetration. For this and many other reasons, based on his experience with such cases, he believes this may be a false confession. According to other experts, the murderer was familiar with the house, but John Ramsey says he doesn’t know Karr.
Press Conference Blogging (12:07 p.m.)
Boulder DA Mary Lacy makes the standard announcement. Karr’s background, where he was when arrested, etc. Says investigators spent the past few months investigating him. Much work to be done. Reminds folks that Karr is presumed innocent. Durham County DA Mike Nifong could learn a few things from this lady.
Won’t comment on particular nature of the investigation or the arrest. She’s thanking all the people involved in the case and taking “limited” questions from reporters. No charges have been filed, and Lacy won’t be able to say much more than that.
Basically, the conference was scheduled to make the arrest announcement.

I hope that the authorities are right. I too suspected the Ramseys when Jon Benet was found murdered, but a year or so ago I saw a documentary about the case in which an investigator with a high percentage of success in solving cold cases showed overwhelming evidence that this crime was committed by an intruder and not a member of the family.
Ever since then I have been sympathetic to the Ramseys. What hell they must have endured to not only lose their child to a brutal murderer, but to be accused of it themselves, and to be regarded with suspicion and cruel speculation by the public.
I hope Patsy Ramsay rests in peace.
Comment by atheling2 — 08.16.06 @ 6:29 pm
La Shawn, what do you think of them apples?!?
I was never ready to convict the parents or even speculate that Patsy accidentally killed her daughter in a fit of anger. I never followed the case that closely, though. But when you posted on this not that long ago, I was certainly willing to go along with it as it seemed a reasonably plausible explanation and you seem a reasonable and informed person so I deferred to your greater knowledge of the case.
I’ll feel horrible for Patsy if it turns out this guy is guilty, given that she’s died and won’t be around to see her name cleared. This is great news if he’s guilty because, like I said, I never really wanted to believe that they did it. Kinda like, at first, I was hoping against hope that OJ was innocent but there was just too much overwhelming evidence of his guilt.
For the Ramseys it was just that there was no other evident suspect. Well, I hope Patsy can rest in peace.

LaShawn, I am VERY familiar with the case. Most of the people I interviewed did not think that the Ramseys had anything to do with the murder. This is the break that everyone prayed for!

However it turns out, I don’t like to see little girls “tarted” up. Parents are supposed to protect innocence and guide the process of maturation, not ram a child through it. I know this is speaking ill of Patsy Ramsey, but she and her husband should be presumed to be the responsible adults.

Well the fact that the suspect lives in Thailand is no surprise. They have extremely high rates of prostitution, particularly child prostitution. A few guys who had an international child porno ring collected donations for a supposed orphanage. Little did the donators know that the orphanage was a place where they took young boys and did unspeakable things to them. Just as I have said that we need to be on China for their BLATANT humans rights abuses, we REALLY need to apply pressure to Thailand to stop this crap. They are seen as a refuge for child molestors and that is disgusting.
I pray and hope that everyone will pray for all the children in the world who are exploited. I pray that their victimizers will be judged negatively in the eyes of God. Have a nice day.

Tailand is famous for “sex vacations” that can be arranged by Internet. “Anything goes”, as noted above.
I am somewhat surprised that no one has brought up the “color” issue.
The victim is a charming Whige girl. Ready made for Greta Van Susteren.
Somehow, I have to believe that there are a number of murdered “colored” children who don’t fit the profile for prime time discussion by “experts” (former cops and attorneys).
And it is also no surprise that the suspect is a schoolteacher - these types gravitate to careers where they have close contact with children. Likewise for scoutmasters.

I am happy for the Ramseys. They and their son can find some vindication. There should be a hope for other such cases. I recall thinking they were guilty; their manner was not what I would have liked. I with others blamed them because of the beauty pageant business.
However after the Elizabeth Smart case, I began to think differently. People blamed the Smarts as well.

I must admit I also suspected the mother, especially after reading a book that made a pretty good case for it. Granted, I can’t fathom a mother killing her child, but I also can’t understand a mother parading her little girl around in full make-up as a tiny adult, either.
Still, if this new development ends up taking the blame off Patsy Ramsey, I will feel a real sense of relief–and regret that her last years were needlessly clouded by suspicion when she was already enduring tragedy and illness.

What’s the difference between a “homosexual” pedophille and a “hetero” pedophille. Or between a black, white, latino or asian one? A pedophille is a pedophille. Not all white males are sick like that and not all homosexual males are pedophilles. Anyone that harms a child in any way is a sick bastard. A pedophille needs to get thrown under the jail.
Don’t know why you made the “white males” remark, but whatever. Whether Karr is a homo or hetero pedophile does make a difference. You better believe his lawyer will make the distinction, as sick and irrelevant as it may be to us. Need I spell out why? I don’t want to insult your intelligence. - Admin

This is going to be a non-stop cable news freak show. With really bad luck, Barbara Walters will have an hour long special interview with this Karr guy.
For ten years, Patsy Ramsey was “free” and under a heavy cloud of suspicion. It is mighty late for the peanut gallery to start crying “told ya so!” Solving this case was the road to fame and fortune and that fact that it has taken this weird turn proves nothing.
I hope that the evidence can prove that Karr is the lone murderer, but I fear that Karr will only be another part of the puzzle.

You know, I’m trying to figure out what’s supposed to be wrong with healthy skepticism. Rarely do I believe something on the spot simply because someone said it was so, even when it’s something I agree with. This freak confessed; OK, but does his DNA match? Was he in Boulder at the time, or in Alabama, as his ex-wife said? Did he murder JonBenet, or is he merely adding freaky attention-seeking confessions to his already freaky repertoire?
I’m skeptical on all fronts, and the “told you so” meme is grossly premature. People are so fearful of being wrong, they cave with the slightest seeming contradiction. Me? I’m not afraid to put myself out there and be wrong.

From what I could glean from the absolutely wall-to-wall coverage on CNN (With a break for Larry King to fawn all over Jon Bon Jovi - who apparently fancies himself a political expert due to his ability to entertain us musically!) the doubts about the Ramsay’s guilt stemmed largely from the savage nature of the murder which was not in any way suggestive of the parent-murders-child scenario.
Like LaShawn, I have long had my doubts about Patsy Ramsay’s innocence. IF in fact, this freak is the murderer of this child, then he should be put away expeditiously. Meanwhile, premature conviction in public forums is inappropriate at best and potentially fatal to the prosecution at worst.
Finger pointing and “I told you so” is completely unwarranted.
According to John Ramsay (Again on CNN’s endless coverage - I had insomnia last night so I played solitaire and was stuck with CNN as a backdrop)both Mr. Ramsay and his wife knew about the interest in Mr. Karr before Patsy died. So if, in fact, Patsy didn’t have anything to do with her daughter’s death, she had the scant comfort of knowing that she was off the hook at long last.
May both Patsy Ramsay and her daughter, JonBenet, rest in peace at long last.

La Shawn,
I’ve yet to see any video of John Karr (at work right now), so I’m wondering why you would say that this guy seems more like a homosexual pedophile to you? Is it his looks? The way he talks?
When you get home today, watch the video and tell me what you think. - Admin
Comment by Tate — 08.17.06 @ 11:59 am
You are absolutely right, the white male remark I agree appeared to be out of context. It was done purposely to point out how bias and prejudicial it sounded. Just as the assumption that the man appeared to be a homosexual pedophile was out of context. I watched the video and he does sound and appear to be soft spoken, but that would be a wrong assumption as to his sexual orientation. In any event, I’m glad he was caught and if he actually did it, now Patsy Ramsey’s name can be cleared. I’m very pleased that another pedophile has been taken off the streets as not to harm children anymore.
You don’t read carefully, do you? Some commenters are more eager to post opinions than to properly represent what I wrote. I said Karr seemed to be a homosexual pedophile based on what I saw and heard, and that assertion is not out of context. You saw the video and came to a different conclusion. Good for you. - Admin
Comment by h — 08.17.06 @ 12:09 pm
Been awhile since I’ve commented here, but I can’t help it on this one. I never came to any personal conclusions on the parents’ guilt or innocence, but at the time I had a new baby and couldn’t allow myself to follow that kind of story.
With that history, I’m seriously skeptical about this guy being involved. From watching Greta’s interview with his brother on FNC last night to just seeing pictures and video of him — and now with his ex-wife supplying an alibi. I don’t know if he’s a pedophile or not, but his appearance now in contrast to previously certainly seems to speak to a certain amount of mental instability. If this is indeed the case, it wouldn’t be unusual for a psychotic to be seemingly lucid on some levels but have grave delusions and confess to crimes they only imagined themselves committing. That’s my theory on it. His disappearance from family, obsession with child murders, and statements in contrast to a former family member claiming him to be across the country at the time of the actual murder all seem to point fingers to a highly unstable person aside from any potential sexual or violent crimes.
I hope, for the sake of the family, that this isn’t a wild goose chase.
Comment by Janet — 08.17.06 @ 12:19 pm
I read very carefully. So much so that I saw how that statement was prejudicial and a bit homophobic based on the man’s speech. Anyway, he appeared to be a soft spoken psychopath to me. Nothing more.
Fortunately, I’m not phobic of the word “homophobic” or the idea of being prejudicial.

I called the Duke mess a hoax early on and I am going to make the same call on this Jon Benet Ramsey mess. There is no way that this guy committed the murder. There is no proof that he has spent any amount of time in Boulder or knew the Ramseys and the layout of their house. Additionally, he has indicated that he drugged the child before abusing her. The toxicology reports indicated that there were no drugs or alcohol in her body. This guy is a nut case pediophile who has become obsessed with this case through osmosis (the intense media coverage).
Below I have posted my call on the Duke case (dated April 10, 2006). LaShawn’s response is below mine.
Largely, I agree with TL’s version of events but with a few caveats.
This young woman’s story never sounded that plausible to me. In my experience in several predominately white environments, white males are not usually sexually attracted to “typically black†looking women (typically black = Mary J Blige or Fantasia not Beyonce or Halle). I never could picture them having sex, let alone group sex, with a normal black woman in that environment. It would be considered taboo. I suspect what happened is that the woman’s boyfriend or significant other had beaten and possibly sexually assaulted her earlier in the evening. After the attack ,she became inebriated to “forget†the pain. She probably didn’t want to perform that night but the other stripper probably coaxed her into it. Even though she was inebriated, convincing her to perform wasn’t all that difficult since she is a single mom with two kids and was probably desperately in need of the Duke gig to meet her monthly financial obligations. By the time she arrived at the Duke party she was already drunk and unable to perform. The other stripper brought her along and decided to follow through with the performance in order to earn the $800 dollars. I am sure the agency the young women work for does not have a website (if they did we would have already seen pictures of her somewhere). As a result, The Duke LAX players probably did not know they had hired two black strippers for $800 dollars. I doubt they would have paid that much for two black strippers and were probably miffed when they showed up. When one of the two black strippers was unable to perform, the Duke players who themselves were inebriated, probably become even more agitated. When the stripper stopped her performance and decided to collect her exorbitant performance fee , racial slurs were probably hurled heir way. This upset the women and they left the party and called police to file charges.

Based on the evidence that the public has access to, the logical conclusion was that a family member did the crime. Obviously the investigators have information they were not sharing with the public. Sometimes it’s best to keep that info as to not tip off the suspect.

It occurred to me that if Patsy had accidentally (or otherwise) killed JonBenet, wouldn’t she have confessed before her death? But then I thought maybe she wouldn’t, not if it would get John in trouble if he helped her in a coverup…
La Shawn, I too think things are a little hokey with this suspect, but we have yet to hear ALL the evidence. I’m eager to know more…
Also, in your 06.24.06, Patsy Ramsey blog, you wrote: “Some experts contend, and I agree, that a woman wrote the note…”
So it occurred to me that if the Perp is indeed a homosexual pedophile, wouldn’t that explain the feminine quality to the note? Just a thought…

While it does look a little ‘iffy’ that he actually did it (ex saying he was with her and what not), one thing to remember is that being in jail in the US, even for murder one, is better then jail in Thailand. If I was going to be tossed in the clink somewhere in SE Asia I’d be doing anything I could to get back to the US, including admitting to killing Jimmy Hoffa and Kennedy. (-:

Strange that they report that he confessed to “drugging” JonBenet. According to the documentary I saw with investigator Tom Bennett, he noted strange marks on her neck and back, which he determined to be from a stun gun. He said she was stunned while asleep, then carried down to the basement. I saw the photos of the marks and it certainly looked that way to me.

This is the worst kind of crime. As a mother and grandmother, there would be no limit to my rage but what if I was the one who was under suspicion, constantly hounded by the press, accused, villified, every aspect of my life torn apart, that on top of the most profound grief of my life..how then would I react? On the television a lot of the images were of a woman who didn’t seem as overwhelmed with grief as I might have been. On the television we saw a woman who looked like she would exploit her daughter..make her into something trollop-like. Stress can kill, perhaps that contributed to the cancer the mother got. I thought the same thing about Dana Reeves…the stress broke her body down.
We can speculate and speculate. Maybe she did it, but I hope not, I honestly hope not. And, I hope she is reunited with her daughter in heaven, at peace, at last.

Hey James. Your statement about the attraction thing is about as wrong as two left shoes from my POV. The taboo part is correct though. If you ever spend any time in the hood, you will observe the visits routinely made by white men to satisfy their curiosities about the very “negroid” featured women so historically portrayed as ugly.
Note that most of the mulatto’s throughout American history resulted from white men and black women.

La Shawn,
I had an opportunity to review the video of Karr confessing, but I didn’t see any “obvious” signs that he was a homosexual (maybe I didn’t see as much footage as you).
However, I must admit, he looked like someone suffering from Aids. He’s extremely slim and gaunt. I guess a pedophile with a guilty conscious might look this way (if he has a conscious).
Again, I’m very interested in finding out how this story develops. It looks like most folks consider this to be a false confession. I’m feeling weird about it myself. We shall see…

Mercy, that Boulder D.A. sure had a shrill voice. Is there some kind of school that instructs young women to speak out of their noses?

Did anyone see the “psychic” drawing of a possible perp that was made back during the original investigation years? It was shown on MSNBC tonight and the resemblance to Karr was striking.

My office mate on his way into work this morning heard on the radio that the suspect said he picked JonBenet up from school… STRANGE!
I also read the following excerpt from Foxnews.com:
Lt. Gen. Suwat Tumrongsiskul, head of Thailand’s immigration police, said a Thai officer asked Karr why he had sex with a 6-year-old girl.
“He said that at the time it was just a blur. He said they were lovers,” Suwat told The Associated Press on Friday.

HERE ARE THE REAL FACTS!!!
Check out the facts from “Court TV’s” website, and you will see that there was so much FALSE NEWS out there, it’s pathetic.
AFTER you read the EVIDENCE (assuming this article is non-biased), you will agree that there is NO WAY anyone can conclusively say the Ramseys did it. As a matter of fact, I am NOW more convinced they didn’t do it, than I am that they did. Here is the link:

Pay special attention to page 35 which states the facts surrounding the DNA evidence.

If I or someone else on this thread conclusively said the Ramsey’s did it, your comment would have achieved the desired dramatic effect. Since no one has, it appears to be merely a cut-and-paste job that you probably posted on a number of different blogs.

“Hey James. Your statement about the attraction thing is about as wrong as two left shoes from my POV. The taboo part is correct though. If you ever spend any time in the hood, you will observe the visits routinely made by white men to satisfy their curiosities about the very “negroid†featured women so historically portrayed as ugly.”
Sorry, I know it’s not the topic, but #33, Shade, you are absolutely correct about this. I’ve seen it happen on a REGULAR basis for 19 years working in “the hood”.

Aside from meeting a couple of Thailand police officers for a few minutes, I know nothing about the quality of Thai police.
But, interviewing a foreigner and “nut” in a different language is rather difficult even for the best police officer, and the suspect may have been intimidated by the foreign jail/lack of due process.
If this case and the Duke case has taught the public anything, the quality of local police varies highly.
Comment by UNK — 08.18.06 @ 11:07 am
Shade and James observations are not mutually exclusive.
My personal observation is that while MOST white men prefer white women, there are are few white men who like Black women or experimenting.

I’m a bit confused. You say this guy is more like a “homosexual” pedophile. Why? Wasn’t JB Ramsey a little GIRL? My logic tells me that a pedophile who was a homosexual would rape little boys, not little girls. Pedophiles who rape little girls are HETEROSEXUAL pedophiles. Thought this was pretty basic stuff but I guess not.
Comment by randomranter — 08.18.06 @ 11:23 am
LaShawn,
I wasn’t addressing this post to anyone (or group) specifically. I believe that there are people in the general public (including here) that maybe swayed by the false reporting out there. I was truly convinced until yesterday, that one of the Ramseys committed the crime. It was based on our gossip hungry media and false reporting.
I was just watching Hannity and Colmes the other day, and there was a segment talking about all of the false reporting on the news. We Americans are at a disadvantage if we can’t obtain reliable facts. I guess I have to look at it from the bright side…we still get better information than most countries. However, our media is on a down-hill slide due to the pressure of keeping high viewer ratings.

It seems a “heterosexual” pedophile is always merely a “pedophile.”, while a homosexual pedophile is a “homosexual pedophile.” And what exactly distinguishes in your mind the difference in appearance? The blue preppy shirt buttoned at the collar perhaps?
And how is my desire to live with my partner the same as a straight couple a “special right.” That bromide is very tiresome. For you “equal rights” means some are more equal than others.
Why don’t you just come out and say it - you don’t like us, you find us disgusting, and you want us marginalized? For that I would at least give you credit for honesty, if not integrity.
What’s actually tiresome — and futile, by the way — is your hissy-fit about me not liking you and finding you disgusting and all the rest. I don’t care who you sleep with, but even if it were true, why do you care? This “you don’t like us” tirade too trite and victim-loaded for words. You probably don’t like anyone who doesn’t accept your lifestyle as normal. Am I right? Unlike you, I don’t give a rat’s behind what you think about me. - Admin

Yesterday, the Sope-Bocks the first to report on the “test ” posts from an organization called PowerWurks on UseNet newsgroups, back in the Spring and Summer of 1996. Sope-Bocks readers followed on the names and found the Chiko Patel and someone named Suresh both live in Hamilton, Alabama. The readers speculated, from MySpace profiles, that both people lived in Hamilton, AL the same time as John Mark Karr.
Was he a private tutor or where they pupils at the school where Karr was a student-teacher? If so, the PowerWurks to John Mark Karr link could become quite clear. The Sope-Bocks will be updated as I research the matter in-depth…

Wow. Like the other day, I see in the newspaper some blond haired, blue eyed guy under arrest for rape, and I say: “He seems to me more like another black rapist! Why are there so many of them?”
I’m not sure how this squares with the Christian journey but that’s a path I’m quite happy to not be on.
The risk in responding to such comments is that it may encourage others to post similar comments. Your so-called analogy is silly, and the only time people like you invoke the word “Christian” is when some Christian has fail to live up to your ill-conceived ideas of what a Christian is. John Mark Karr: Did he really murder JonBenet?
This Associated Press story points to some discrepancies between the story John Karr has told, and what is known about the case:

Troubling Facts…
1. The killer had to have known (or had connection) with the Ramseys because they demanded Mr. Ramsey’s bonus. Only someone familiar with them could know how much his bonus was.
2. The Killer likely knew the layout of the Ramsey home.
3. On the other hand, if a Ramsey did do it, what was the motive? I don’t see a reasonable motive yet.
Based on logic, I don’t know if Karr did it because based on reports, Karr has not been inside the Ramsey’s home.
I hope there is more evidence to be revealed, or we are all back to square one.

Two things are offensive: the conflation of effeminate with gay, and the attempt to label a straight pedophile as gay, thus creating a negative (and patently unfair!) mental association between gays and pedophiles.

Well, Andrew, it’s not a crime to offend people, and as long as there is freedom of speech in this country (though speech codes are slowly eroding this precious right), certain views will offend you. That’s American living.
This discussion is straying far from the subject of this post, and too-sensitive homosexuals visiting from other blogs are blowing this way out of proportion. I don’t care to explain anything beyond what I’ve already written in comments, in the post, and on the entire three-year-old blog. Read into my words whatever you want because no explanation will satify you. By the way, if you’re offended by a lousy sentence in this post, I urge you not to read the archives of this blog or the Bible.
I’ve indulged detractors too much as it is today, so this will be my final word on the subject.

Source: John Mark Karr knew murder scene secrets
Excerpt:
BOULDER, Colorado (CNN) — John Mark Karr gave authorities graphic details about the condition of JonBenet Ramsey’s body that have been kept secret for nearly a decade, a U.S. law enforcement source told CNN on Friday.
Those details were known only to the medical examiner and the investigators investigating the December 26, 1996 slaying of the 6-year-old beauty pageant competitor, the law enforcement official said.

The fact that Karrs actually a heterosexual pedophile doesnt offend my heterosexual sensibilities at all.
I should hope not. But are you really suggesting you don’t understand why gays might be a bit put off by your earlier remark? Heterosexuals have not been charged for years with all being secret pedophiles (as gays were, and in some circles, still are); heterosexual sex has never been illegal (as gays sex was in 13 states when the Lawrence decision came down recently); and heterosexuals are not still being executed in Islamist countries as gays are, even today.
In other words, straights haven’t been getting picked on a whole heck of a lot, and gays have been. I think that explains gays’ senstivity on the pedophile issue.
I like your blog, but if the subject of homosexuality bores you, why do you bring it up?

#70 Ronski suggests that gays are subject to unwarranted discrimination. This is simply not true. No male or female (and we only recognize two genders) is denied the 14th amendment protections. Men can marry women and women can marry men. The law is their friend.
However, Ronski suggests that sexual preference is a civil right that deserves Constitutional protection.
If a gay is beaten because he is gay, he is protected not because of his sexual preferences, but because he is protected as a man from assault and battery. It is the same reason that black cops often have to protect the parade route of the KKK. They are not protecting the sentiments of the marchers, they are protecting the marcher’s from the retaliation their actions may bring down on them.
If gays do not like being associated with AIDS, promiscuity and the pedophile profile, the answer does not lie in punishing the vast majority for stigmatizing the group.
Gays did not invent the hurtful results of stereotyping. Historically, there are two major reactions to stereotyping: band with the group for community strength or move away from the group and live a quiet life. (Don’t ask, don’t tell.)
We, as a Western civilization, are on the cusp of having to decide if we will reject Sharia Law, incorporate Sharia Law or have Sharia Law imposed upon us. This is the same point as giving sexual preference a civil right. Do we give religious law a civil right above or equal to temporal law?
Our system is a darn good one. Trying to scrape together new areas of “civil right” only corrupts the system by muddying its clarity.

Comment by Tate — 08.21.06 @ 11:14 am
I suspect that the reason he was in business class either had to do with availablity of seats for him and guards in the same part of the plane, or with the fact that fewer people in business class means fewer potential problems (i.e. it is easier for him to be guarded when he uses the bathroom, etc.) It is also easier to protect him in business class. I don’t see how he could have done this horrible thing, if he was not in Boulder at the time, so I can’t help but wonder if he knows something….

Two things are offensive: the conflation of effeminate with gay, and the attempt to label a straight pedophile as gay, thus creating a negative (and patently unfair!) mental association between gays and pedophiles.
A couple of points. For one, I don’t see how anyone can deny that there is a very strong correlation between male effeminacy and male homosexuality. To get offended by this implies that you consider effeminacy in males to be something bad and I was under the impression that the gay community does not look upon male effeminacy as something bad.
As for your other point, I can see how this may bother you if you don’t want something negative like this unwarrantably associated with gays, but I think that La Shawn’s point was that she is skeptical as to whether this guy actually committed the crime. The reason for this is that the guy gives such a strong impression of being gay that one would not generally think that he would be sexually interested in any female of any age (and the recent disclosure that he was seeking a sex change gives more credence to this).
I interpret what La Shawn said as being that if we were told that this guy is a pedophile, yet not given any details about his victim(s), the average person would lean toward the speculation that his victim or victims were boys.
But I understand that there are flaws in such speculation since from my observations, most pedophiles, whether liking boys or girls, are not very effeminate. I imagine that your more effeminate gay men tend to seek more masculine men (correct me if I’m wrong). This adds even more to skepticism about this guy and I wouldn’t be surprised if he is shown to be some loony who made all of this up for his own loony reasons.

Endless discussion of homosexuality aside (a debate which neither side will win this side of being called before the Throne), I still don’t buy this very STRANGE man as the killer of JonBenet Ramsay. There’s something very off about him.
If they have something concrete like DNA, well then that’s definitely cool and let’s get his happy butt into a cell for the rest of his life. Otherwise, he’s wasting a lot of law enforcement time and taxpayer money and if that’s the case, prosecute him for THAT!
