LaShawn, I think the only reason this weirdo confessed to the crime was to get his effeminate butt out of a Thailand prison. I have a sneaking suspicion our prisons here in America are a bit more comfortable.

Gimme a break; Any time someone says "homo" in a context you dislike it deos not make them flaming homophobe monsters.
Endless discussion of homosexuality aside (a debate which neither side will win this side of being called before the Throne), I still don't buy this very STRANGE man as the killer of JonBenet Ramsay. There's something very off about him.

If they have something concrete like DNA, well then that's definitely cool and let's get his happy butt into a cell for the rest of his life. Otherwise, he's wasting a lot of law enforcement time and taxpayer money and if that's the case, prosecute him for THAT!

Two things are offensive: the conflation of effeminate with gay, and the attempt to label a straight pedophile as gay, thus creating a negative (and patently unfair!) mental association between gays and pedophiles.

A couple of points. For one, I don't see how anyone can deny that there is a very strong correlation between male effeminacy and male homosexuality. To get offended by this implies that you consider effeminacy in males to be something bad and I was under the impression that the gay community does not look upon male effeminacy as something bad.

As for your other point, I can see how this may bother you if you don't want something negative like this unwarrantably associated with gays, but I think that La Shawn's point was that she is skeptical as to whether this guy actually committed the crime. The reason for this is that the guy gives such a strong impression of being gay that one would not generally think that he would be sexually interested in any female of any age (and the recent disclosure that he was seeking a sex change gives more credence to this).

I interpret what La Shawn said as being that if we were told that this guy is a pedophile, yet not given any details about his victim(s), the average person would lean toward the speculation that his victim or victims were boys.

But I understand that there are flaws in such speculation since from my observations, most pedophiles, whether liking boys or girls, are not very effeminate. I imagine that your more effeminate gay men tend to seek more masculine men (correct me if I'm wrong). This adds even more to skepticism about this guy and I wouldn't be surprised if he is shown to be some loony who made all of this up for his own loony reasons.

I suspect that the reason he was in business class either had to do with availablity of seats for him and guards in the same part of the plane, or with the fact that fewer people in business class means fewer potential problems (i.e. it is easier for him to be guarded when he uses the bathroom, etc.) It is also easier to protect him in business class. I don't see how he could have done this horrible thing, if he was not in Boulder at the time, so I can't help but wonder if he knows something....

Ramsey Suspect gets free ride home.

John Mark Karr landed n L.A. overnight. Everyone is expecting him to get charged with first-degree murder, kidnapping, and child sexual assault. Karr was escorted off the plane by U.S. immigration officers.

First he's in Thailand giving news conferences and walking around without handcuffs as if he's a celeb or the President.

Then he's dining on shrimp, sipping on champagne (and raising his glass giving toasts) and enjoying first class on the airplane back.

Hmmmm.... Star treatment for an alleged child murderer.

As a black man, I can only watch and shake my head.

This would make a good Twilight Zone episode.

#70 Ronski suggests that gays are subject to unwarranted discrimination. This is simply not true. No male or female (and we only recognize two genders) is denied the 14th amendment protections. Men can marry women and women can marry men. The law is their friend.

However, Ronski suggests that sexual preference is a civil right that deserves Constitutional protection.

If a gay is beaten because he is gay, he is protected not because of his sexual preferences, but because he is protected as a man from assault and battery. It is the same reason that black cops often have to protect the parade route of the KKK. They are not protecting the sentiments of the marchers, they are protecting the marcher's from the retaliation their actions may bring down on them.

If gays do not like being associated with AIDS, promiscuity and the pedophile profile, the answer does not lie in punishing the vast majority for stigmatizing the group.

Gays did not invent the hurtful results of stereotyping. Historically, there are two major reactions to stereotyping: band with the group for community strength or move away from the group and live a quiet life. (Don't ask, don't tell.)

We, as a Western civilization, are on the cusp of having to decide if we will reject Sharia Law, incorporate Sharia Law or have Sharia Law imposed upon us. This is the same point as giving sexual preference a civil right. Do we give religious law a civil right above or equal to temporal law?

Our system is a darn good one. Trying to scrape together new areas of "civil right" only corrupts the system by muddying its clarity.

The fact that Karrs actually a heterosexual pedophile doesnt offend my heterosexual sensibilities at all.

I should hope not. But are you really suggesting you don't understand why gays might be a bit put off by your earlier remark? Heterosexuals have not been charged for years with all being secret pedophiles (as gays were, and in some circles, still are); heterosexual sex has never been illegal (as gays sex was in 13 states when the Lawrence decision came down recently); and heterosexuals are not still being executed in Islamist countries as gays are, even today.

In other words, straights haven't been getting picked on a whole heck of a lot, and gays have been. I think that explains gays' senstivity on the pedophile issue.

I like your blog, but if the subject of homosexuality bores you, why do you bring it up?

"Wow. Like the other day, I see in the newspaper some blond haired, blue eyed guy under arrest for rape, and I say: “He seems to me more like another black rapist! Why are there so many of them?”

rather rude comment

but overall rapes are DOWN 85% because of DNA

It's just no fun for rapists any more, which is the way it should be

Actually, your message wasn't posted and deleted. All commenters coming from certain blogs are automatically held for approval. Your comment didn't make it out of the queue because it contained ad hominem.

I hate that I've indulged a bunch of silly surfers, making them feel like they're hitting "too close to home" and more important than they really are. I regret the time I've spent doing it, but the comments and responses will remain to remind myself and others that I can be just as petty as "offended" and overreacting homosexuals. - Admin
